teaser one.
white wispy petals and a yellow, sun-like eye decorate her left chest in a dainty little sketch – a common daisy, as she'd been told. a far cry from the pompous outline of another flower etched on the chest of the man she'd shared her bed with last night, with a face she'd forgotten and a name she'd never asked for. she often wonders if she'd ever find out who her soulmate is, if her petals will ever wilt; they seem so pristine and innocent still, untouched unlike the rest of her. she couldn't figure if it were a curse or a promise, that there would be room for more hurting.
daisies. innocence, familial love, and new beginnings.
what a cruel joke it must be to her soulmate to expect so much from a simple flower, only for them to one day realize that she has none of those things to offer.
"jen?" she hears the familiar beckoning of her friend's voice from outside, bringing her out of her trance. part of her never wanted to know who it was, so that she may never face the inevitable truth that'll come with seeing the same flower on their chest: that, one way or another, she'll hurt them too.
and she would have no other choice than to watch as the other daisy wilts.
