Im sick and tired of stupid non-aus...

I've been wanting to create my own roleplay for a while, I have been thinking about it but sadly even though I have many plot ideas I'm just not faimiliar or creative when it comes to the whole platform!

Every time I feel the sudden urge and desperation to create one is because -and I cant stress this enough- I DETEST STUPID NONAUS! Like I just feel super weird to roleplay the actual idol/person? I mostly just take their face claims and come up with a whole different story and background just like how many writers do when they have in the cover of their books actual people that portray the characters in their story? I have joined some non-aus in the past and tried REALLY HARD to stay active but it just felt to cringey to act like another existing human being that doesnt come from my imagination or a novel book, series etc. Which is also why I hate rping in 1st pov its a big NO for me...just using you and I feels like the real me is participating which is just super gross because Im obviously nothing like the characters I rp in real life and even if I was Im here to just write my story with other people and just share our muses?

And wtf with the chatrooms? Most of the time they're more active than the actual rping with people either talking to their friends in ooc rooms or just posting one liners in ic rooms...I guess Im old school (I used to rp in asianfanfics before rpr was created) but still I cant comprehend how many people join non aus just to get away with creating a profile and write 1 line a day which requires almost zero use of a single brain cell -.-'

To sum up, all the reasons above and some others I surely forgot to mention are why I consider quitting roleplayrepublic since apparently the majority of the users are here to have usual chats and plots...but to my folks who join aus and come up with super creative and unique plots YOU GUYS ROCK! Nowdays Im the one to come up with a plot but its completely fine if im the one asking to rp yet I still expect for the people I ask to bother finding some additional ideas for the plot....most dont bother but those who do are the best roleplay partners for me!

In the au rp that I have seen you join, you are just there to a specific someone and you are inactive otherwise. :) You don't have a profile up in that au, nor are you rping a thread that remotely pertains to the au that you're in. This really has nothing to do with the whole au and non-au setting in your case.

all I'm gonna say is..
if you don't like non-aus don't join
you don't need to vent out on this through a blog
I understand you're frustrated about the amount of non-aus and how most people stick to chat rooms and whatever but I've noticed even with semi-au and au rps, most things stay in chat rooms. A lot of interaction happens in ic chat rooms and even though au rps do have more creative themes and profiles and plots, that doesn't mean non-aus canNOT.
as many said, yes everyone is allowed to have opinions about things and I'm not trying to shut down your own opinion about non-aus but this blog honestly feels unnecessary and pretty passive aggressive

if you don't like non-aus, just don't join. period. easy as that.
or create your own, one to your liking.

So what I've managed to take from this blog and comment replies is:

1. You have some weird inferiory complex and feel the need to make yourself feel better by judging others, blatantly.
2. For some ungodly reason, you think it's okay to think lesser of people because they rp nonaus.
3. You seem to think that because someone does like nonaus, they aren't creative.
4. You're chill with ualizing minors - yeah, caught that down there, too.

So in the end you're saying:
You have an opinion but if anyone thinks differently we should probably avoid you because you're going to criticize anyone with said different opinion. You don't know how to word things so you don't come off as a jerk and you have no regard for anyone who doesn't fit your agenda. Yes? Yes okay, got it.

Having an opinion is perfectly fine - everyone here has always been very honest about their opinion but there are certain ways to do it. This just seems like someone really needing attention.

then don’t join nonaus lmao. mind your own business and join aus if that’s your preference. you can still rp in 3rdpov, no one said it’s required to rp 1stpov. everyone has their preference.
there’s no need to lash out in a blog about something that you can keep to yourself.

why not, instead of writing a blog post with all of your complaints where it's so obvious your superiority complex is off the rails, just gather some co admins and make the damn au rp yourself? there are people who don't use layouts so it's not a requirement and you'll never have to join another non au again. not only that but when you admin your own rp you can have everything laid out exactly the way you want so then you don't "have to deal" with the people who one liner. also just another point to make...you are literally not required to only rp in 1st pov. i will reply to people writing to me in 1st in 3rd and nobody gives a . literally just make the rp yourself and stop complaining.

just make sure you remember to read a person's profile to see if their character is a minor before you flirt hardcore with them because you have a problem with not taking those two seconds to check and then getting into trouble with the admins because you become part of the recurring "people on rpr ualize minors" problems.

I agree WITH ALL THIS...
I have had some not fun or favorable encounters with toxic ppl in NON AUS. LOL and it's just a big stupid mess so I came back to AU and am finding my creativity once more there. ^^

As someone who enjoys both nonau and au, I'm on the fence with this bsvksha
I often suffer with lack of muse, writer's block, and a ton of personal issues mostly pertaining to my health, so I tend to join nonaus because they are relatively easier for me to try to find some kind of escape or to get some creative juices flowing. When I'm in a better mindset and am able to actually write, I enjoy joining aus. I can't help but wonder, am I not allowed to rp or interact with others if it's not in an au because nonaus are supposedly stupid and cringey? By no means am I implying you said this or anything, but that comes to mind. ;;
As others have stated below, this could have definitely been worded better so it wouldn't have come off so much as an attack towards those who enjoy nonaus. To an extent, it does seem as though you're implying that au rpers are better than others (even if you didn't mean to come off that way). So, do I rock or do I ? I ask because I enjoy both kinds of rp lol hsgskdhs
I dunno- i say let people enjoy what they want so long as it isn't hurting others or illegal. I've always been told "Live and let live; if it doesn't affect you or others, mind your business. If you're minding your own, you can't mind anyone else's"

One more thing~ Since you view rping as another human being as weird, is it not also weird to use another human being as a faceclaim rather than drawing/creating one yourself? Just another thought xD Have a wonderful day/night♡

I agree with the comments below. by all means you’re entitled to your own opinions regarding non-aus but it could’ve been addressed in a better way.
I personally don’t think non-aus limit room for creativity, I’ve been in enough non-aus to have come across people who put effort in rping rather than using one-liners as you’ve mentioned and have actually come up with great plots.
aus are great, they’re creative and allow us to explore but I doubt many people have the time to dedicate towards them, especially with everything going on. I mean, as you can see rpr has become pretty dry over the last week or two so it’s understandable why some people may prefer joining nonaus. It’s an easier way of communicating and interacting, certainly not limiting.

you could just turn a blind eye to non-au's and mind your own business if it isn't to your liking.

It's not your cup of tea
I get that, but everyone enjoys things differently.
It's all about understanding and respecting everyone's preference.

you don't have to like/understand non-aus, that's more than okay. you also don't have to shun people that enjoy non-aus.
instead of lashing out in a blog, be constructive. just a thought.
