In a world where dragons once ruled, their defeat came with a resounding end; their lives and purpose were forever changed. Forced to give up their eggs to a life of servitude, before they themselves were massacred to keep the truth of the past hidden from the new generations. Through trial and error, humans learned the proper way to gain dragons full loyalty, that they'd even fight to the death, just because their masters had ordered them to. Their ownership after their master's death would be inherited by one of his children unless ownership had been relinquished, then they are sent to live out their lives farming the lands for the humans, until another chose to purchase them.
While most dragons had given into the humans, there were still a few that resisted them, escaping to the mountains with only their young. Gathering their strength so that they may once again defy the humans and save their brethren from enslavement.
