okay so. i have an idea for a mutant prison au, and the premise is as follows:
sometimes people are born different from everyone else. their genes mutated, giving them exceptional powers and abilities. while these abilities are not always dangerous, they are enough to scare those without.
as the years went on, more and more mutated individuals began to emerge. as the public's fear began to grow, the united nations decided to create a place for the mutants to live and learn to control their abilities. a safe enviornment away from the public.
at least...that is what they want you to think. silver vale institute is truthfully a prison. mutants are kept in highly specialized cells that supress their abilities and are forced to wear cuffs, collars, belts, or anything else that will prohibit them from using their powers. at silver vale, the guards are the ones with all the real power.
are you a seasoned mutant who's fought their government? a scared and timid mutant who is unsure of their powers? or are you a guard, seeking to protect the world from dangerous mutants?
so yeah you'd be able to join as a mutant/prisoner or a guard. maybe other things if people have ideas or something makes sense. there could also be cliques within the prison that form, and guards can be mutant sympathizers or haters. there could also be a limited number of mutant guards. mutant powers would be kind of within the xmen universe.
