I'm doing an editing job for a friend as a favor, and I'm not being paid the amount I should be to deal with his temper tantrum. My job isn't to say "Oh, your writing is the greatest thing ever, and I like everything on every page of your novella ever!" It's my job to point out what's wrong and give advice on how to fix it. Why hire an editor if you're going to spam them with email and act passive aggressive every time they say something you don't agree with in your story? It's my job to make it better than it is. If you felt it was good enough, then you wouldn't have hired me.
I don't deserve the abuse of dealing with your ty attitude, because you can't handle criticism. Don't be a writer then or at least, don't hire an editor ever if that's how you're going to be. He told me that he didn't get along with his last editor, because he felt they were mean-spirited and weren't helping him they way they should have. Was that really the case? Or did you go off on them, because they said something "bad" about your story? If you don't shape up like I said in the email I replied to, then I'm taking what I'm owed and you can find a new editor. Probably one that's at their job, since they'll kiss your and pump up your ego.
Sincerely,
I'm too mature to deal with a man-child
P.S. At the end of the day, it's your story. If you don't want to take my advice, then you don't have to. You can simple say, "I don't agree with you." And keep it in. No skin off my nose. I'm not going to fight you on it, unless it's contradictory or what you said makes no sense to the story at all.
