have you just..... ever watched a show that was so good and up your alley that you want to consume every media that comes out out of it?
like i know it's not a first for everyone but 'maria clara at ibarra' is truly just a masterpiece that i can't help but fixate on. not only was it on local ph tv, it also tackled a lot of societal issues that filipinos are experiencing even now. and in the 5 months i've spent watching it, i cried, i laughed and i got angry; still, it has been one of the best journeys i've had in years.
for context, it is a reimagined version of the books that our national hero wrote during the reign of spanish friars in our country way, way back. it is a reimagined in a sense that a gen z was teleported in the book (noli me tangero/touch me not) to understand why nationalism should be taught in school and why studying rizal is one of it.
i highly recommend you guys watching it when you all have the time because aaaaa !!!! it's just so good. (heard it's getting released on netflix real soon so might rewatch it then).
it's a love story that ends in tragedy. with comedy to balance it out.
anyway.
bye.
