MOON EUNYEONG
The local watering hole in Bulguk tended to get rowdy near the end of the work week, when all the factory workers would file in after their shifts for a beer and good company.
Everyone is welcome, so long as you respect one rule: Donβt backtalk the nation.
The workers here are proud of their country and you wouldnβt want to cross that. Theyβd soon enough remind you of a tale from just a year back, when a group of drunk air nationals would proudly claim their nation greater than the nation of fire. The first punch had rung out from one of the veteran factory workers, a fire bender by the name of Eunyeong.
βSo you think youβre better than us somehow?
Cause your walls are higher? Your finery finer?
As if all it took for a nation to be strong was their purity?β
She was openly mocking them, her arms splayed out in a welcoming gesture to fight back. A gesture none of the boys were willing to take up.
βNo, passion is what makes us strong, and in the Fire Nation we got that in spades!β Eunyeong had continued, the gathered crowd of workers all cheering along.
βYou can tear down the walls, and break our fineries. Poison the purity of our air. Those are just challenges for the people to overcome, but we are a people that donβt give up,β the woman had continued boastfully, hitting her chest twice with a firm fist. βAdversary is our daily bread and butter and we come out all the stronger for it. If you offer me a legion of soldiers or a single fire national, Iβd take the burning heart of my comrade any day.β The gathered crowd burst into cheers, beer spilling all around them as Eunyeong turned back to the boys.
βAnd for our nation and our goddess, Iβd take you all on,β she had grinned, leaning forward to offer the man she had punched a hand.
βSoβ¦ try me, will you? Or is this single bender in a bar too much for you?β
