Cho Miyoung, from the house of the ebony ram, is a cheonmin woman currently working as lady ahn suji's lady in waiting. Tender hearted, a dreamer, a hard worker and stubborn, miyoung ultimately wants to look out for and care for those around her. but who cares for the person taking care of everyone else?

a nighttime soiree. a dance together. a single pale blue shoe. you met a young woman at a party and noticed that she was off in a corner, watching the ladies and gentlemen dancing with one another. as you met her gaze, she looked away, clearly nervous. and so you decide to take a chance and ask her to dance with you. as you two danced, the time seemed to slip away as you two discussed ideas and dreams. but suddenly, she had to depart and tend to something. in her hurry to leave, a pale blue shoe had slipped off from her foot. as you looked up to return the shoe to its owner, she had already vanished. now you had to return the shoe to its rightful owner and perhaps... take the next steps to deepen your relationship.

duke jang ilseong of mungyeong.
Jang ilseong, from the house of the cardinal bird, is a young duke from mungyeong. Despite the importance of having the title of duke, it is a responsibility he bears begrudgingly. between the poltics and duties as head of his house, he is now set to wed a young woman in order to maintain his reputation - despite not being attracted to women.

bang junha, from the house of the black cat, is currently a gisaeng at hanbamman. popular with male and female customers alike, he specializes in giving charming conversations and his mysterious dances. his self bleached blonde locks catch eyes wherever he is. but underneath the charming smiles, is a young man who resents the customers he works for, someone who is an opportunist and isn't afraid to use the wealthy to make a better life for himself.

Junha has fulfilled many requests from clients in the short 4 years he's been professionally doing work. But among the oddest requests, were ones to be company for events. They weren't his favorite. Having to put on airs to people for hours, engage in small talk. It was almost like work at hanbamman, except it wasn't nearly as scandalous. No, it was much more proper. And it wasn't your first choice for a date, either, except you had no other options available. After being charmed by the young gisaeng's conversation skills one night, you sprung the idea onto Junha. But you didn't know what you had gotten yourself into, taking a mischievous black cat with sticky fingers to an event. Now you not only had to maintain appearances, but also make sure Junha wouldn't do something to get you both in trouble.
