about me!
introduction
phd marine biologist with a fascination for the mysteries of the deep- and the stars above. born and raised in cornwall, my heart belongs to the coastline where i learned to love (and fear) the sea. currently searching for the meaning between the waves and the constellations.

when i'm not on the water, i'm cataloging discoveries, reading old maps, or writing about the stories the ocean keeps secret. a dreamer at heart, i'm driven by questions no one has answered yet- especially the oens that haunt me.
quote!
motivation

and as the waves closed over him, he realized it wasn't the ocean he feared, but the silence it left behind. it was the waiting, the not knowing, that made the sea so vast, so infinite, and so cruel."

origins!
background
— chapter one. born to the sea.
*

caspian jeon was born where the land and the sea meet, in cornwall, a place where the cliffs are jagged and the waves crash like thunder against the shore. his father, a fisherman from korea, and his mother, a cornish woman, imparted to him two things: the undeniable beauty of the ocean and the stories of its danger. his father spoke of great voyages and unknown depths, while his mother told of ancient spirits guarding the tides. the sea was both a cradle and a grave, a place where life and death danced in eternal rhythm.

from a young age, caspian was mezmerized by the water. the pull of the ocean was in his blood, its whispers in his dreams. yet, in the back of his mind, there was always a shadow- a quiet warning about the treacherous side of the sea, something his father could never quite compare him for.

— chapter two. a brother lost to the depths.
*

when caspian was fifteen, that warning became a stark reality. one storm-lashed day, when the waves rose as high as the sky itself, caspian and his younger brother, seung, went out to sea. their laughter was drowned by the roar of the wind as the storm rolled in, uninvited and unforgiving. caspian watched helplessly as seung was pulled beneath the churning waters. the storm passed, but the ocean kept its secret - seung was gone, swallowed by the depths.

the sea that had once been his comfort became a place of grief, a reminder of everything he had lost. he couldn't understand how something so beautiful could carry so much danger. the storm, the waves - it all felt like a cruel betrayal. for years, caspian struggled to reconcile this, to find meaning in the loss. and so, he turned away from the sea - but the sea never truly let him go.

— chapter three. a path to healing: marine biology.
*

in an attempt to understand the force that had taken his brother, caspian threw himself into his studies. her pursued marine biology at university, his grief driving him deeper into the mysteries of the ocean. he spent years in laboratories and research vessels, studying coral reefs, marine life, and ecosystems - trying to find some semblance of order in the chaos of the sea. with time, his relentless pursuit of knowledge paid off, and he earned his phd, his research acclaimed in scientific circles. but even as he charted the depths of the ocean, he never stopped searching for seung.

his work became more than just a career; it was a way for him to cope with his sorrow. the ocean was no longer just a source of pain - it became a place of refuge, a place where he could immerse himself in discovery and maybe, just maybe, find a way to bring seung back from the depths. he became an expert in marine ecosystems, often traveling to remote locations to study the ocean's pulse, but his personal search always lingered in the back of his mind. every dive into the unknown felt like a whisper from his lost brother, urging him to keep searching, to keep believing that one day, he might find some trace of him.

— chapter four. the silent strength of a man torn.
*

at thirty, caspian is a man caught between the serenity of his research and the storm that still rages within him. he returns to cornwall occasionally, to the cliffs and the water, but he is no longer the boy who once loved the sea with childlike wonder. he is a man who knows both its beauty and its destruction. his marine biology work has brought him both peace and frustration - the calm of discovery often clashing with the ache of loss.

his quiet days are spent studying the sea, trying to decipher its secrets, but his heart still searches for something more. there is an unspoken hope in his chest that one day, through his research of by some twist of fate, he might find a clue - anything - that could bring him closer to seung, or at least offer him some kind of closure.

he remains a figure of silent strength in his village, known for his skill in his field but also for the distance he keeps from the water, the same water that claims him in both life and grief. caspian walks the cliffs, gazing out over the horizon, the sea ever-present, and in those moments, the wind seems to carry the distant laughter of his brother, lost to the depths yet never truly gone.

— rules

plotting remains in pms. if we have known each other for over a month or so, and you have a discord, i would be willing to plot there.

third pov only. i am not comfortable writing in first pov at all, and write my best replies in third pov. i find it better and easier for storytelling on my end, as well as the length of my replies.

no mention of my character without permission. i am happy to be a plot device, but please run it through me before you include any mention of my character in your replies.

roleplaying in rooms only. aside from , it is easier for me to stay organized and keep track of my threads if it is in rooms.

i have a full time job and make it a priority to spend time with friends and family over rpr and mainly come on ehre for fun, so i will sometimes have slower replies. feel free to let me know if i'm taking a little too long.

— writing style
