we need to talk about ai (again)

i'm tired of having to reiterate to my friends and rp partners alike about how absolutely rancid it is for y'all to use ai, being creative writers yourself, on this day and age. 3 weeks into 2025 and a bunch of yous are still ignorant and this has to change. i cannot just keep watching anymore.

assistive ai is another thing altogether, so let's talk about how generative ai isn't only STEALING from artists but also has been proven to be harmful to the environment. you do not need me to keep lecturing at you about this time and time again because the information is easily accessible anywhere and anytime you want on the intermet. at this point your endorsement of it, no matter if you personally use it or not, is a testament of YOUR morality.

first things first, let me say that this isn't an attack to any particular individuals, but i have noticed an abundance of people who OBVIOUSLY did not write their own roleplay bios because they do not align with their own portrayal of their muses. using chatgpt to generate your roleplay bios is LAZY, UNINSPIRED, AND SHAMELESS. this site is where creativity used to flourish from one end of a fandom to another. everyone had their own flair to share with the world, no matter how "good" or "bad" you think your writing is. your writing is excellent, because it's MADE BY YOU. are you all that ing deprived to have a ing robot write your stuff for you? it defeats the entire purpose of roleplaying, if anything. so what even are you here for, then? to show off? WHAT FOR? SHOW WHAT OFF, IF YOU DIDN'T WRITE THAT ?

and no one calls out the ugly, HIDEOUS ai generated photos y'all use as your pfp enough. artists all over the world have rioted against their works being stolen and spoken out for fellow artists whose art has been shamelessly used as prompts for ai bros to create something they cannot even make with their own two hands. if you hadn't already been so unbothered to credit artists for their stuff on this goddamn site, the least you could do is avoid using pics that stole from them. HAVE SOME ING SHAME.

i probably sound like i'm virtue signalling to some of you, but i couldn't care less. i have no respect for you people who continue to take advantage of the fact that this little isolated website continued to go unchecked for the theft and shameless endorsement of THIEVES, and i refuse to let you think this is acceptable. DO ING BETTER.
