"Must they be so ing ignorant as so assume we're twisted and evil?! We've been purging evil by sword since the early 800's!"
-Spirit of Landro May, Assassin of the South, 834-916 R.I.P.
Maxxy: This is Maxxy, and we've come to explain our point of view of the Guardians of the North. Serian and I plan to explain their methods, alongside some biased and unbiased opinions. To start, I am going to explain their origin and methods.
Maxxy: In 2003, shortly before the Lunar Impact, Leo Shyko always dreamed of being among the authorities so he could take care of criminals in the way they truly deserved. His wife was and murdered in 1998 when several people broke into his house while he was at a bar, drinking his emotions from an argument out. He had come home to a viscously mutilated corpse. He had been scarred ever since.
Shortly after the Lunar Impact, Leo finally had the opportunity. In the small country of Rekna; just west of Askala, was a broken people. He moved to the country, shortly using his own persuasion to be deemed king. He created a military organization in order to maintain the laws of Rekna; the Guardians of the North.
After a few years of building his kingdom, he united the surrounding countries and was later deemed the High King. The countries were merged with Rekna voluntarily in order to strengthen the kingdom. The only country that refused to merge was Askala, for their champion made most of the choices under their king's request. John Coldsnap was not in favor of losing Askala. A civil war soon broke out, and a mysterious force fought on Askala's side.
The force was known as the Assassins of the South. Rekna's citizens mentioned their name quite a bit, and the rumors spread to High King Leo. Ever since, the Guardians have been doing their best to dismantle us. Leo wishes to break my neck with his bare hands, but I say "good luck".
Â
Serian: Here is our personal view. The Guardians assume us to be twisted and evil because of our intervention in the war between Askala and Rekna. We did not strike against them because of a hatred. We fought on Askala's side because of my personal friendship with John. We had been enemies, then rivals, but the past hostility was due to a twisted vision of myself given to him by Shadow, one of the Void Lords.
Anyways, on with the point. The Assassins never sought a war with the Guardians, but they continuously try to purge us. When the originally came to our attention, Assassins were dying non-stop for the first couple of weeks. Now, we simply hide in the shadows of our domain. Short of discarding their holy magic, they could make a deadly alliance with the Mage-Slayers.
My personal opinion on them is that they need to calm the down. The war they think they are having with us is only going to hinder Erath's chances at any outside threat. Besides, if they keep trying, I'll wipe their entire country clean by myself and by blades.
This is an unbiased opinion: They always seemed to enjoy the concept of purging the shadows in order to destroy the Assassins. The Assassins and the Guardians simply have different methods in which the Guardians do not enjoy. Tis' a shame really, that they would try so hard at a fruitless adventure, but some are just too opinionated.
Â
Maxxy: Even the unbiased opinion slightly sounded like your thoughts, but nevertheless, you got your point across. We do not have a hatred for the Guardians. We simply look down upon their "tryhardiness" to end us. We do our best not to bother them since their might can be a tangible opponent to any force that may invade Erath. This presentation is through.Â
