He was perfect...
In all shapes and forms
To those eyes that me in away from reality,
Keeping me away securely and holding me with such warmth and security
To his sun-kissed skin, ever-so smooth and radient
I could never keep my finger tips off of him;
Wanting to feel every inch of his smooth skin and that memorized me with each touch
His smile, oh you should have seen it
So wide and so bright and so beautiful that you could never take your eyes away
It was like he sculpted, perfectly, by the angels of angels
His finger tips, as delicate as the summer breeze and as warm at the Spring's sun
The way he would smile at me...
He wouldn't have to say a word for me to know what he was going to say
But good things don't last long, unfortunately
He was gone; out of my grasp, away from my finger tips
He was gone; I was never able to see his smile or hear his voice
He was gone; I know I'm not able to touch his skin and look into those eyes
He was gone; engulfed by flames and medal, holding him down until he couldn't move a limb
He was gone; pulled into a world unknown to us who walk the Earth
He was gone; forever...
I didn't have a chance to say goodbye
But I remember our last phone call, our last words to each other;
'I'll see you tomorrow', 'I love you, don't forget that okay?', 'Tuck her in for me an' tell her goodnight'
He precious in every aspect, cherished for every moment from that day on
Loved for who he was and what he did for others
People mourned, people cried, people wished for his return
For if there was a stairway that led to heaven, I'd march up there and bring you back down
For if there was a stairway that led to heaven, I'd bring you to back
To me, to your daughter, to your loved ones, to your friends, to your family; to the world, my dear
I'd want to lay your head on a pillow and whisper 'everything's alright'
Even though I know it probably won't
Just one more time I want to hear your voice
Just one more time I want to see your smile
Just one more time I want to feel your skin
Just one more time I want to look into those eyes
Just one more time I want to tell you that I love you
Just one more time I want to hold you in my arms, keep you there
I don't want to let you go
I don't know if I can
You're gone; out of my grasp and away from our finger tips
You're gone; engulfed by flames and held in by warped and bent medal
You're gone; forever
You're gone; but not forgotten
