Basic plot: The film opens with an announcement that a 70-mile-wide asteroid is on a collision course with Earth and that the space shuttle Deliverance has failed on a mission to destroy it. The world has three weeks until impact, at which time humanity will be wiped out.

Despite the depressing nature, I found the plot somewhat cute.
