Witch

Raised in Salem, Oregon, then the East Coast (not sure where yet, somewhere on a beach) 

Ancient line of witches, many allied with Royalty or supernaturals 

Grimoire: 

 "Our dearest daughter, we hoped to be with you on the day you read this journal for the first time. Instead, we left you in your aunt's care, this journal blank until you became aware of what you, and we, are. We are not monsters like stories say, but we aren't normal humans either. Witches are simply beings with great power to use however they see fit. We hope that you will grow to be a strong witch without us and use your power in a way that you can be proud of. This journal, your grimoire, will be your guide. Love always, Mom and Dad."

She flipped to the next pages, reading titles aloud. "Witchcraft 101... Covens.. potions.. charms and amulets.. There's a lot more in here.." She stopped at a page titled "Family History".

There was a family tree dating back to the imperial times, and a brief history. "Wow... we were around when Korea still had an emperor.." She tilted her head as she noticed L's, D's and N's next to names.
