The supernatural (medieval latin; supernaturalis: supra "above" + naturalis "nature") is that which is not subject to laws of nature or more figuratively, that which is said to exist above or beyond nature.* The supernatural are whimsically feared; and are shunned whenever encountered. Due to this prominent reason, Gakuen Alice was formed. Gakuen Alice is a school which provides a haven for teenagers (the period where life is at its most difficult) with special abilities called alice. Here, the children are safe. Here, they are welcomed and not considered freaks of nature; and above all, they are protected from those sceptical creatures that belong to the race of humanity.
