Now before every exotic here wants to kill me, hear me out. I heard it was the greatest album yet, that it was gonna do better than wolf did, people were just all around spazzing epically over this song/album/mv. I had no choice but to look it up and watch it.
Lets start with the mv. It is 12 members (which I appreciate they are all in one mv rather than broke it down to korean and chinese) all in a few different boring rooms with disrupting lighting. Some may say its great effect lighting cuz it goes with the song and the beat but what the lighting is doing is actually interfering with showing us the intricate dance steps. Their intro teasers were epic, their first mv What Is Love was epic. Wolf was epic, growl was a great song but there is none of that epicness in any part of this song or video.
Now, the song itself, well I honestly could do with or without. Now, don't get me wrong, I am a fan of EXO. I liked almost every song on tgeir last album, in fact they are all on my playlist but this, not so much. It has a little bit of that epicness to it but I think it falls just short of what I have come to expect from EXO.
All of this being said, I had to check out the rest of the songs from this album because for some odd reason, I find that most groups (especially from SM) don't release their best song first, such as wolf and growl. I listened to every song and while they weren't horrific they were just ok and certainly not spazz-worthy. Needless to say I think this will only be an EXO year because their fans like them, their personalities, thwir goofiness, shyness or maybe even thwir looks but not the album.
Now all you exotics out there don't hate me for my opinion. I think I just had to post this because while everyone was flipping out and spazzing listening to theit album, I found it hard and very disappointing that it wasn't as great as I had expected.
