I hate it when people say words only have power when you give it to them

I want to show them graphic pictures of people being lynch and saying "I'm willing to bet the n word was the last thing they heard alive." People really don't know the power of that word and it annoys me to death to hear (and even read on rps) here people using it all 'cutely' trying to be cool.
