Do NOT read if you are a Baekhyun stan and/or sensitive to criticism about idols.

So when I heard Taeyeon and Baekhyun dating....

I HONESTLY WAS PRETTY HAPPY FOR THEM. I knew Baekhyun liked Taeyeon (as an ideal girl and as a singer). So to see them get together was actually pretty cool. Especially considering that newer idols try to hide that they're dating at all costs and EXO is only two years strong.

I got annoyed that people were blatantly hating on Baekhyun and Taeyeon. And even felt a sympathy towards them. I expected the hate to come, but I didn't think it was going to be this strong and bad.

BUT--

Again get out now because it's going to get nasty and some of this is speculation, not 100% proved, but still doesn't change my feelings about this.

Things changed. 

For a long time now I've had a thing against Baekhyun in particular more than any other EXO member. It all started with critic and speculation forums and blogs that I occasionally delve into. The more I dug the more I thought that Baekhyun had been a somewhat of a player(heart-breaker) in his predebut days and a tangibly fake person who chased the spot-light. Obviously not all of the things I read could be sourced properly and some was rumours and speculations based on a  dozen of things. I personally never said anything nasty about Baekhyun nor even said 'why' I had a thing against him. I just decided to ignore him the best I could. I even would try to not post anything with Baekhyun on my tumblr and always scrolled past things related to him.

A few months back, I started to let go of my tight hold of anti-Baekhyun  feelz when I started to watch more of EXO Showtime which I had previously dropped after the first two or three eps. There was an occasion or two that the feelings would resubmerge with a vengence while watching showtime. But I, up until yesterday, had mostly let go of my Baekhyun prejudice, and was trying hard to accept Baekhyun as a comical and beautiful EXO member.

I accepted that  he and Taeyeon were dating. I strongly believe that idols should date if they please to. I know that idols are human, and they are not perfect. But I also know not everyone is a good person, and that doesn't exclude celebrities. I'm not saying that Baekhyun is one of these 'bad' people but he has made me visibly furious, which, believe it or not, is pretty hard to do. I sympathize with Taeyeon and Baekhyun on the point that they are recieving tremendous of delsiousnal hate from people that they do not derserve. I do not sympathize with Taeyeon and Baekhyun's choice to use social media as a way to communicate when Taeyeon claimed to create her instagram for fans and Baekhyun used a term made just for EXO to get away with communicating to Taeyeon. I do not accept that SM thinks it was okay to confirm their dating status when EXO is such a new band and they know that Taeyeon and Baekhyun would recieve way too much hate that I'm sorry to say but I don't know if they can recover from, even if some say it was to change the subject from Kris.

Baekhyun... the way I view him, chasing the limelight, toying with girls hearts, risking EXO's and Taeyeon's career, damaging them..I do not know if this something that I can recover from. It took me such a long time to come to accept Baekhyun as a being which should recieve my support. And now this has gone and put him even lower than before for me.

I know... Who cares, I'm just one fan. But to see him damaging EXO like this... They, like any idol, have worked years for this and now with one thing it can bring so much stress and damage to them. I worry for the boys.

I think I will cease to complain about Baekhyun. Now that everything is all in the open.

Please stop hating on Taeyeon and Baekhyun for dating each other. That may be the key problem, but that in itself isn't what they should be reprimanded for.
