this may be pretty long so if you're lazy u should probably just stop. if you want to post this anywhere else or use it, just be sure to credit me or something. i spent a lot of time thinking it out and watching the video so i don't want anyone mooching off of the i worked really hard to piece together and figure out ;_;

SOME REFERENCE PICS TO HELP YOU UNDERSTAND BETTER:

note that:

krystal and amber's eye make-up is on the right side while victoria's, luna's, and sulli's is on the left. (english speakers line? lol)

i'm not going to flood this post with teaser pics, but pay CLOSE attention to all of the teaser photos. notice how the members' hair or eyepatch covers their eye with no makeup?

(just examples). this entirely relies on symbolism and could possibly sound crazy to y'all. the eye with make-up represents their "beautiful" side. the eyepatch could, in a way, represent society or rules/customs, covering up and hiding their "ugly" or eye without make-up, because, naturally, society demands perfection and beauty.

so, now, i'm gonna go into the video more in depth.

obviously it starts off with a cat with 2 eye colors, the phone ringing and someone picking up. after that, you hear the cat meow as krystal holds a burning book. this represents change or destruction, "breaking down" and burning the normal customs. by this you can assume that f(x) stands for the cat with 2 eye colors, something unique and unknown to society. during the music video, we notice that most of the time, the members' eyes are still covered or out of the camera's view, meaning society (the ones with the "red light", possibly the police? from their camo it could seem like the SWAT team xD) still has a hold of them, but they're breaking free. tbh i haven't even read the english lyrics so i could be entirely wrong, this is just fan speculation.

the reason why i'm mentioning this is because luna and amber seem to be more unique than the rest of the members, but, luna's hair is a dark shade of blue, and blue usually stands for peace, meaning that all they want is to not fight.

amber's hair is red however; red stands for destruction and anger, hatred, but it's also something that catches your eyes quickly. we can assume she's trying to convey a more dangerous image than the rest of the girls. what i think is that, while amber is trying to catch their attention and make them more notice-able, i think luna is trying to show people that f(x) doesn't mean any harm; they only just want to change and break free from society's harsh customs and be themselves, but they won't go down easily, which is why amber's hair is such a vibrant and violent shade of red, meaning that the girls will fight for waht they believe in.

victoria's hair starts out as long, then switches to short, just like how luna's hair is short. while the members slo-mo (lol) run near the middle of the video, she has short hair and her eye isn't covered (when luna, krystal and amber sing near the end, NONE of the members' eyes are covered at all), possibly meaning that she "shed" her long hair and broke free. (amber's and sulli's eyes weren't really covered that much anyways, sulbros are badass as .)

krystal.. idk. i think she was just blonde for entirely promotional purposes because if she didn't change hair color nobody would've really cared about the comeback that much, since krystal gathers the most fans.

also, in the video, you see a grainy screen with a man who seems to hold some political power speaking, as well as white robot-looking things with wires hooked up to them. this represents most of society, wired to the old customs that f(x) is trying to eradicate. later, men/women in gas masks seem to be chasing f(x), possibly trying to tame them while at the same time trying not to be "poisoned" or gassed by f(x)'s influence.

OTHER THINGS: the flower being exploded stands for something that was once beautiful being deemed ugly or not good enough and is therefore eradicated, and the house blowing up then reversing stands for the "customs" itself, destroying to get rid of the flaws, then fixing back to repair itself to a better condition.

eventually when the high-notes come, f(x) is outside, holding each other for support and love, in light clothing rather than the dark outfits they wore while in the MV setting.

the start and ending of the MV seem to be reverse, however. near the end, we see the cat again, with only 1 color in its eyes. this probably means that the normal standards and customs have, eventually, fixed the flaws in the cat and deemed it worthy, so that COULD mean that f(x) doesn't represent the cat.

at the end of the video, the phone rings and the cat meows, but this time, we hear a gunshot, and a wanted poster appears on screen, obviously looking for the girls, however- there's no eyepatches, no hair covering them up, or anything. meaning that no matter what, uniqueness will be hunted down and tried to be forced into submission, even if they've already become independant.
