Why?

Sometimes I wonder why I bother roleplaying anymore. No matter what attempts I make, I'm still ignored. I understand that people have school and work which is why I give ample time (one week to a month) before I remind them. The messed up thing is that a lot of times I see them on and rping with other people. I mean, if you don't want to rp then tell me, especially if our characters express interest in each other. Yes, I understand that sometimes people aren't sure what to reply at first because I'm the same way.  Not to mention, my characters are always screwed over. Is it just because of who I am or is it because my characters are nice? I'm constantly joining new rps, active ones, new ones, etc, only to end up leaving because I'm ignored. I do make an effort to approach people, but just... apparently it's just not enough. it all. I don't know why I bother anymore.
