I know this is totally random and nobody around here might care, but...
I just watched the news and heard:
Udo Jürgens, a legend amongst German-speaking singers, died this afternoon at the age of 80.
Only a few months ago the singer, who was in the show bussiness for round about 60 years, was still standing on stage, last year he won one of the most amazing awards a person can get, 'The Bambi' as an honor for his lifetime work. Next year he had several concerts planned already again.
And now this great artist is so suddenly gone.
As a German child I, as well as many people older than me, grew up knowing his songs. And no matter how old or young you are, you find a song within the hundreds of titles he has sung, that you will like.
It makes me sad to know that such a great man so suddenly died today, so shortly before christmas as well.
I hope his family will be alright... And may he rest in peace.
Udo Jürgens, your music forever will live on.
