I was one ed up kid when I was 13 XD

Okay, I was talking to a friend and we entered the subject of Barbie and I remembered something that had me laughing so hard I started crying, so I thought I’d share it with you guys XD

Me and my then best friend, Anna, played with Barbie until I was 13. We would simply go home to me, go to my room, get out the Barbies and play. We’ve had many storylines, but the one I remember the best is the last we had. I think we played it like... over and over again, so each time we began playing, we started over with the same story.

So, the storyline I remember best was that we were “adults” and cool and in college. Obviously we both had love interests (as far as I remember, it was the boys we liked). I had two Ken dolls and aside from the eye colour (one had brown eyes, one had blue eyes) they were exactly the same. The story was that, as a part of our college, we had to go on a survival trip on an island, of course with the love interests and the antagonists present. It was kind of “Survivor” style, so there was no contact with the world or anything, just our group of people.

Now to the fun part. As we were 13, we were kind of discovering . Seeing as it was an island and we had no electronics and our Barbie selves were obviously best friends, we had to make up a system to communicate when we were not together on the island. So of course we decided that when any of us lost our ity to our love interest, we would have to basically scream (in Whale Language like Dory) “ITYYYYYY!” to let the other know that we just lot our ity. I have NO idea why we thought that was secret or even subtle! XD

The best part is, I was a real perfectionist, so I would demand we “replayed” scenes to make them perfect. I am imagining my mother sitting downstairs, rolling her eyes as me and Anna screamed “ITYYYYYY!” over and over again XD
