sad apologies

im really sorry i haven't been active in my normal roleplays lately

my dog is very very old, about 14, and to me, as a 21 year old, that means he's been around pretty much the entirety of my childhood

my dad found him as a puppy only weeks old on a construction site, scavenging for food with his brother. he took the puppies home and we fell in love.

sadly, about 6 years ago, his brother died because he ate a whole fish, and the mercury in its brain is poison for dogs

but my dog lived on, despite his allergies and his thyroid problem, he lived on

now, he's 14 years old. over 100 in dog years.

he is so thin, skin and bones.

his hind legs don't have strength because of arthritis so he can't walk

he's covered in bumps so we think it's cancer

my dog is a good dog

my dog is the best dog

my dog loves me

i love my dog

and as much as i don't like to think about it, or have to distract myself because i don't want to face it...

he's dying

i can see it in his eyes

he's dying

he's too old

my family is poor, so we can't put him to sleep until my parents get paid

we're afraid he might die on his own before then

afraid that when we wake up in the morning, he will not

this dog is my world

my brother

my child

my companion

such a good boy

a good boy

it'll be okay

you can go be with your brother now

it'll...

be...

......

......

...

okay.

You're right it is going to be okay but perhaps not straight away. We dog owners basically take on a new member of the family and grow bonds we didn't expect don't we? A dog is as good a brother or a sister or even a best friend than some people can be so it's hard to watch them deteriorate like this. Hang in there, we're here to support you through this okay? No need to apologise for anything right now, just take all the time you ever need. Stay strong. We love you ♡

don't be sad... If you are I'm sure your dog will feel it too
he will be in more pain knowing you are
he will be happy if you smile to him
tell him that he is really a good boy

It will be okay
I felt the same. My dog also got 14 years.
She was my everything. My sister. I was 4 when we got her as a puppy. But the last half year of her live I could see she was in pain.
I hated to see it. It pained me too to see her so hurt.
We could put her to sleep. But I was broken after that. But what helped me was that I knew she wasn't in pain anymore. And that I thanked her for the great time she gave me. It's been 3 years ago but still it hurts me. But everything I think of her I smile. Because I had so many good times.

What I wane tell you is think of the good times. Tell him you love him and thank him.
It won't be easy. It's going to hurt. But he was there for 14 years he will be in your heart the rest of your live.
Be strong dear *hugs*
