she was like the sunshine;
bright, warm and inviting.
and he was like the rain;
cold, but way past the initial shock
is the gentle, soothing pitter-patter
that makes you want to snuggle up
and stay in a warm embrace
forever.

he never thought of her differently, until now. he used to think that the two of them would
just simply be childhood friends who grew up together, watched each other find love,
and have kids who would be childhood friends too. he never thought he'd find his heart
beating too fast whenever he sees her bright smile, or stay awake at night and stare at the
ceiling, only to find himself thinking how her hair smells like strawberries, and how
he loves seeing her eyes twinkle every time she talked about something she loves.
she didn't know when she had started crushing on him; maybe, it was from the moment
she laid her eyes on him when as he played alone by the porch of their new home.
he always seemed cold and quiet, a total opposite of her personality, but even then,
the two of them clicked well. she understood him well enough to remove the necessity of
words from time to time, and it was something that only she could truly do.
she laid on her bed every night, thinking about how she loves hearing his voice,
and how he crinkles his nose whenever he laughs
how he would willingly stay up late with her and put up with her spontaneity
and how his hugs were one of her most favorite things in the world.
and then, she would snap out of it, and wake up to the reality
that maybe, all she'll ever be in his life is his best friend.
