- anything set in the early 20th century or the 19th century
- a prince or important figure in hiding, traveling around the country with his sworn guard
vampire falling in love with a werewolf- a human accidentally discovering his neighbor/roommate/friend/enemy is a vampire
- angel falling in love with the human he's supposed to protect and then preventing his planned death, even if it goes against all their laws
