Shakespeare.

That's right. You heard me. Get ready for the ing ride of your life because  got some to say about Hamlet and I decided I needed to waste some time so it you know, might as well right it here cause like--idk. I just wanted to write one of these I guess, I wanted to make a blog and I wanted it to be weird plus my meh towards Hamlet is so strong rn I just need to put it out there. THANK ME LATER IF YOU GOT AN ESSAY TO WRITE ON THAT , MAKE SURE YOU CITE ME lmao jk. (hAh did you think it was one of those I'm leaving rpr blogs get ed)

I've been re-reading Hamlet in my English class and I remember reading Hamlet nearly five years earlier with a much younger class and just--the hilarity of it all, the "acting" (reading it out loud really exaggeratedly) and just the lines from Polonius "O, I am slain!" I actually really enjoyed the play and I thought I had a super good grasp on Shakespeare from that point on--what the hell was I smoking then tbh. Looking back at Hamlet, re-reading it like I missed so much when I was a little ling reading Hamlet.

First of all, the ual tones. "It would cost you a groaning to take off mine edge." did you just say that to Ophelia? How was I supposed to understand that ual innuendo as a kid--like whoa whoa reading through this all--Hamlet you naughty why are you so dirty--

Speaking of Ophelia I totally didn't feel for her when I was first reading Hamlet but now like--damn this girl really just had a bad time. Like she was just obedient and a good daughter and like Desdemona (who if you haven't read Othello SPOILERS gets murdered by--you guessed it Othello) she just gets utterly ed over. Like man (SPOILERS) Her family is like don't go near Hamlet he's too good for you and then Hamlet says he hates her and then her dad gets killed. Not that I liked him anyways, that stayed constant through the readings, Polonius is indeed still an annoying piece of . And then Ophelia goes off the edge and goes insane like wtf this girl suffered that's when you as a friend tell her straight that she needs to get a new fam and a new man. Hamlet is like an utter savage to her like

"Get thee to a nunnery."

Holy like--rost master 3000 over here. Hamlet is like the king of roasts, he calls Polonius a fishmonger like damn son that's some next level insults. But the thing about Hamlet that just like never fails to trigger me a little now is the fact that--damn he is a whiney . I mean like the soliliquies make up the majority of the play and he constantly lamants on how he wants to die and how he hates the burden on him. And I get it, that stuff is rough but it's something that is so easily fixed like just kill your uncle/now brother or don't. Either the ghost is an angel or a demon, and it's so frustrating when he goes off about this constantly cause like--he has friends who he can confide with and actions he can take to fix his problem. If one thing I don't like is if it's an internal problem that you can acknowledge, your next step should be working towards fixing it instead of just--I don't know just like, chilling with the problem. Hamlet as a character of inaction is so frustrating because there are so many routes he can take and instead he just sits there and everything goes to ery. If Hamlet did anything something could have just been avoided and what frustrates me the most is the fact that there's so much I don't know because Hamlet refuses to act. Like did Gertrude conspire with Claudius? I don't ing know cause Hamlet hasn't done anything to try to figure it out--well actually he has but its in the form of a ty play like COME ON MAN YOU GOTTA DO BETTER THAN THAT.

In any case, I am throughly enjoying Hamlet even with all the ery that's happening and I hope y'all are taking care of yourself. This was just a random muse thing--if y'all wanna talk Hamlet and Othello hit me up in the comments or something I hope you enjoyed reading I'm just like--super sleepy and I wanted to write something mildly entertaining before I go back to work. But seriously, rip Ophelia.
