this may or may not make no sense because i want to address a few things
also pls don't take offense. you don't have to read it if things trigga you easily.
*1 : tmw you can tell who's in highschool, middleschool, or not going to college/hasn't entered adulthood yet bc A: they are here all the ING time B: when they talk about certain touchy subjects they have no goddamn filter and they sound naive as hell bc odds are they haven't seen the world granted to them through "college" or "career" goggles. C: they're so into they're nearly prejudiced against yuri and straight. (idk why this is a thing, i've just noticed it) D : when they try to lay the facts down they only regurgitate what was learnt through public school textbooks and not through meaningful discussions or even some lectures given in a college or real life scenario. E : they overuse the word daddy and 9/10 are strangely kinkier than the adult populace
*thank god not everyone is like this, but it's becoming a thing
2 : idk if it's just me and my occasional inactive , but it's getting progressively harder to build successful relations with other characters in rps if you're a female. and even harder if you're not friends with the users. i have friends who've done so much for years and years with bundles of success, but when they play women its like *cricket sounds*. Or when im so used to the dry metaphorical weather when rping women, cause i have nearly my entire rpr career, that recently when i've been playing males, i'm suddenly bombarded with messages and conversation-starters. and most of the time, i'll post once as a male and get seven conversation starters who continue to engage; but when i post as a female multiple times i get two conversation starters and maybe one who will continue for fifteen minutes, and then just drop our conversation.
3 : i think bxttxm brought this up once, but its amazing how much MORE attention female characters get after having scandy dps with lots of or or skin showing. then by doing this you're encouraging rpers [ myself sadly included ] to have more raunchy dps to get people to actually talk to them. and then on top of that, the conversation created is often hyper-ualized or purely based on physical appearance, not necessarily trying to get to know one another or to rp. i find this even more sad because the demographics on rpr are mostly female, and so in a sense we are ualizing ourselves [ im also sadly; guilty of this ]. there's great talks on feminism from the rpers here but i find that the social construct we've learned even as females ourselves, out-weighs what we want to actually do and believe in, or what we think we believe in.
