Hello everyone!

I'm new in the RPing world, I've never (never) done it before, and that makes me feel insecure. I've been interested in doing this for a long time now, I know how it works (in theory, of course) and I've worked hard in my characters, but still, I feel this insecurity. I'm afraid that people think that my characters are not good enough (and/or that my writing is not good enough), and I'm afraid in do it wrong while RPing in a group. Another fear that I have is that I'm not a native english speaker, so my grammar is not perfect. I suppose this are normals fears for a beginer, but I don't know how to get rid of them.

How were your first experiences? Did you have this fears too? I would really love to read your initiation stories <3

OKAY FOR STARTERS,
There's always gonna be someone that wants to do your plot or just rp in general, you just have to make that known by saying "hi I'm ____ and I have a plot if anyone is interested" or you can simply post your plot ideas on your character's wall

Errr from my very first experience on this site, I, like you, was afraid of the first impression my characters pulled off and changed myself to the point where my replies sounded almost monotone like I was trying way too hard- welp, that got boring easily and I kinda just did my own thing like if I want an angsty character- I'll be exactly that, but if I'm leaning more towards a crack character then I'll portray myself as that.

There's also a fine line between au roleplays (alternative universe) and nonau roleplays (non-alternative). Au roleplays are often more plot based and associated with people who legit want to roleplays whereas nonau rps are a bit more laid back in terms of plotting (people like to wing, mostly).
