Background: Born in Texas to first-generation immigrant parents, Kira's childhood has been basically uneventful - future more or less laid out as soon as she showed interest and talent in ballet. She is a hard worker, so it was evident she would train hard and go on to achieve great things in the ballet scene. In a Black-Swan-esque twist of faith, as soon as she comes of age and starts seeing the dark underbelly of the industry - her fellow dancers wilting away to hunger and bulimia, the constant pressure and contest between the dancers, stoked by directors, who saw it as an opportunity to manipulate them to work even harder for free - she begins second-guessing her career path. The ultimate drop comes when another fellow dancer, cast to be the lead role in an upcoming production, is hurt in a questionable car accident, hospitalized, and the only thing she and their peers think of are if she would be able to dance - instead of worrying if she is alive and okay. This insanity drives Kira away as she chucks the pointe shoes and goes on to find happiness and success in other forms of dance, that she has always enjoyed - such as contemporary and hip-hop - leading her to open her own dance channel, posting videos, then to get hired as a dance instructor in a tiny studio, before getting headhunted into LVER.
