✶ NOTABLE FEATURES : When he is using his abilities from his vampire half or he is craving blood his eyes will glow bright red; when he is using his lunar abilities his eyes will turn milky white; he has two sharp fangs that are always present (they do not protract or retract); he has a long scar in the shape of water rivulets starting from his right shoulder, one long line dripping over his chest and down, and two more lines dripping down his shoulder blade (line one) and curving into his right side (line two), these scars are the result of concentrated holy water.
✶ FASHION : Overall vibes are an even mix of light and dark academia; slacks and comfortable sweaters, plain dress shirts, lighter colors like beige, brown, cream and white, and he will (on occasion) wear jeans and t-shirts if he's trying to blend in better with society.

- born to a human mother and vampire father. his parents are both alive and well in the present day as his mother was turned shortly after his birth. kitae is the only one in the family with human still left in him.
- he grew up during a time when supernatural creatures (or anything non-human really) were looked at with fear and disgust by humanity. this is what led him to eventually create The Archive, a way to preserve supernatural history, and also The Haven, a place where non-humans are able to stay, rest, recover and get back on their feet in a safe place free from judgement
- he's technically an ex-hero after coming into the occupation by accident after saving a group of people using his enhanced senses/vampiric side. he was active during the 1950s/60s before ultimately retiring from hero life

due to his half-human, half-vampire physiology he has multiple enhanced senses such as sight, smell, strength, agility, durability, etc.

— LUNAR MAGIC
ability to draw energy from the moon and use it in various ways

— WEAKNESSES
+ due to being half-human his enhanced senses are not as strong as a full vampire; he is not indestructible, he is still able to break bones and get bruises
+ despite his half-human side he still requires blood to survive like a full vampire; if he does not feed often enough it can leave him irritable at best, sick at okay, and ravenously hungry (to the point of bloodlust) at worst
+ he does have stereotypical vampire weaknesses (sunlight, garlic, stake to the heart, etc.) but due to being only half-vampire these are less fatal and more bothersome
+ unable to use his lunar magic during the day
+ his lunar magic is strongest when the moon is clear and visible in the sky (regardless of the moon's current phase); the more obscured the moon is the less powerful/accurate his powers
+ when exposed to daylight for too long he will start to feel sick and drained, and this can weaken his lunar abilities once nighttime arrives

DIVINATION
+ as this is the ability to SEEK knowledge of future events his readings may be inaccurate, as the results of his divination are often vague and shrouded behind the veil, leaving them up to many avenues of interpretation
+ even if his divining is accurate, the conclusion he comes to is just one of many possibilities, meaning any random flap of a butterfly's wings (change of fate) can render the reading useless as the future has changed after the fact

COSMIC COMMUNICATION
+ when listening and interacting with the song of the universe there is a possibility for him to become afflicted with song sickness in which his mind can be overpowered by a strong cosmic voice; this can lead to him becoming confused and disoriented, with the worst symptoms being temporary complete amnesia or temporary possession of his body by the voice that is overpowering him
+ uhhhhh i'm running out of weakness ideas but i guess another one would be that he can't always understand the voice he's speaking with, and there are even times where he just can't connect with the song over the universe because it's so hard to grasp

LUNAR MANIPULATION
+ again, if the moon is not visible or it is somewhat obscured it can affect both the strength and accuracy of his lunar manipulation
+ since moonlight is technically redirected sunlight, if he makes the intensity/strength of the light he is manipulating too high it can leave him with burns on any of his skin that is exposed

EMOTIONAL SUGGESTION
+ this ability is not strong enough to overwrite someone's emotions or force them to feel a certain way; rather, it works like a gentle nudge, and should the person affected "accept" this suggestion, the strength of said feeling(s) can then be increased gradually
+ there's no true way for him to subtly use this power, so it's not made for stealth unless under certain circumstances (such as the target being confused, inebriated, under the influence, distracted, already feeling strong emotions, etc.)

- his past hero partner from when he was an active hero during the 1950s/60s. when kitae retired from hero work decades ago it drove a wedge between them.

- a non-human that is the same age or older than kitae. the two have an on-again, off-again... something (there's not really a name to it). this person is a wanderer who often disappears for indefinite lengths of time, meanwhile kitae is rooted in his place and stays within his archives, waiting for them come back like they always do.

PART ONE : Introduction.
Hi! My name is Melo; you can call me by that or by my character(s) names. I live in GMT-5/EST and you'll mostly see me at random times throughout the day. I do work part-time (hoping to get a full-time job soon), so I'm not always available.

PART TWO : Preferences.
POV & Length: I only use 3rdPOV. My replies can vary in length from semi to para to novella. I do my best to mirror, but don't feel pressured to do the same as long as you give me something I can work with.

Reply Speed: Just going to be upfront and say I'm a slow replier. Sometimes I can reply right away, but more often than not it might take me a few days. If you prefer a faster pace I may not be the best writing partner.

Plotting & Winging: I prefer plotting since it gives me more confidence in my threads, but I am open to winging as well (and sometimes prefer it when my brain is being finicky). Sometimes I post random starters, so if they haven't been claimed by someone else feel free to respond!

Location: Rooms > Walls & Private Messages. I typically reserve private messages for OOC discussions, and rarely roleplay on walls unless I feel the need for our thread to be a little more hidden.

PART THREE : Boundaries.
Please do not "poke" me for a response. I don't make a habit of forgetting replies, and it's more likely that I'm busy or struggling with my muse. That being said, if it's been more than two (2) weeks you can reach out to me.

If you plan to include any rated M or potentially triggering content in our threads you must discuss it with me first. I don't appreciate being blindsided and I will make sure to speak with you about including any such topics as well.

Regarding and romance; I don't typically roleplay these genres outside of my friends or those I'm very comfortable with, but I'm trying to be a little more adventurous lately and branch out so let's just consider them tentatively on the table if we feel like such topics fit into our plot. I'm not likely to plot romance unless we feel like our characters connect, and I don't do threads that are just without plot.
