Kibum had a problem, and he completely despised himself for it. The problem? He had recently realized something about himself– he was gay. But not only was he gay– on top of that, he was in love with one of the most popular guys at school. His name was Jonghyun, Kim Jonghyun, and Kibum found him to be utterly magnificent to look at. Whenever he saw him, he studied his nice build, his impressive muscles, his gorgeous face that was framed by a sharp jawline and perfect hair, and– in Kibum's opinion– the most kissable lips (not that Kibum was a good judge of that; he'd never so much as held hands with anyone other than his Umma). It was thoughts like these that made Kibum hate himself, but they were unstoppable as long as Jonghyun was anywhere near him. And he was, a lot. In fact, Kibum was pretty sure Jonghyun was in every single one of his classes this semester (which had only just begun).

Kibum was sat in Science class, his head down on the desk as he let out a quiet groan. The class was starting a group project, and he was not looking forward to it. It's not that he was one of those kids who were always saved for last when the time came to pick partners, but it was just that he didn't really like any of the people in his class. Except Jonghyun, that is– but there was no way Jonghyun would pick him as a partner, so that was the end of that. Or so he thought. Today, the teacher decided to change things up and pair the groups up himself. Kibum lifted his head as he heard his name being called, then felt his heart leap in his chest as Jonghyun's name was called soon after.
((To sum it up, Key's embarrassed to be gay and in love with Jonghyun, who is a year older than him and quite popular. Key isn't an outcast but he's not quite social either, while Jonghyun is the complete opposite. Key assumes Jonghyun is straight, and that makes him hate himself even more for liking him.))
