loveless adj. ① without any love. ② feeling no love. ③ receiving no love; unloved.  

loveless is a cold city full of adults trying to survive. there's no warm embrace to look forward to at the end of the day in this city, just an empty bed and the deafening sound of silence. in loveless, we love without loving. go through the movements. say "i love you" without knowing what love really is. but at the end of the day, we're all just here trying to survive, trying to find the answer to why we keep going in this loveless city.

location: a fictional metropolitan island off the coast of california that is canonically part of the channel islands, about the size of oahu, named desamor by portuguese explorers for the beauty of the natives who very understandably were not fond of their land being taken. desamor is easily accessible by ferry from oxnard to the north side of the island or long beach to the south side of the island and by plane with small passenger flights to and from lax and sfo. 

demographic: desamor is a very diverse island as many immigrants and refugees tend to settle here. in the 90's, there was a large population boom from young people in los angeles who moved to desamor for its affordability to start up companies. today, desamor is the place that young adults go to chase their dreams. there have been countless success stories stemming from desamor and it has become the center of networking in all types of businesses. despite the optimism that young adults may come to desamor with, once they come here, they realize how everything around them is nothing but a facade.

environment: the weather in desamor is temperate year-round with stormy seasons in the late summer and mild winters. desamor is famous for its beaches and recreational activities. known as an island full of young singles, desamor attracts college students on their gap year and divorcees - the sight of families or couples are generally rare unless they're trying to save a dime on a vacation. outside of the city, there are suburbs that house immigrant families. however, it's more likely nowadays that these homes house start-up companies with 4-6 working professionals living in one house together. outside of the suburbs is the countryside, where desamor gets its local produce. the roads in the country are very inaccessible from the main roads so they're very easy to miss, but there are a handful of farms on the island that make their riches from feeding the evergrowing city. say hi to them at the farmer's market. 

roleplay: this is a rated city au that hopes to encourage more international face claims. the concept is a cold, loveless city where everybody is focused on their career without any time to care about relationships or love, but still crave the physical touch of another. even though this is a rated roleplay, i would like to discourage full-time careers that involve being a worker such as being a camgirl/camboy, e, stripper, etc. since these careers canonically don't fit too well into the narrative of the roleplay. desamor is an island full of ambitious young adults and, while these would make great part-time jobs, it would be great to see more ambitious career goals for your characters.
