Forget alphas being top dog. In this world, money equals power.
Many socialites will do anything to keep their position at the top of the food chain. Marriages are often one of convenience, assuring a mutual benefit to both families involved. Couples of the same secondary gender (alpha/alpha or omega/omega) are also fairly common place in spite of the fact that they cannot breed naturally. There are also people who choose never to marry, wanting to keep their wealth in their own pockets rather than share it with anyone else.
However, having a child of one's own blood is still important and, over the decades, the elites have developed a rather ingenious solution.
Breeders.
Whether for reproductive purposes, a no-strings-attached fling they can throw away, a side piece to raise their kids that they're too busy to bother with, or perhaps they're deluded in finding "the one." Whatever the reason, purchasing a breeder has become normalized among society.
Breeders consist of alphas and omegas who have been deemed to have high fertility. Some have willingly joined the program to try to find stability or financially support their family. Others have been forced to join after their community was taken over or as a sort of penance for perceived crimes against the government. Some even come from generations of well-to-do breeders who are highly sought after. They are spread across three houses: Carnelian, Gemini, and Blushing Lotus.

CARNELIAN HOUSE: a prestigious purveyor of high-class, generational breeders (and even betas) and their prices reflect that. they are taught etiquette and learn how to serve masters and mistresses of high society in a way that brings honor to both their house and their new owner. they are docile, obedient, and dutiful. however, should a breeder disappoint their new owner by behaving unseemly (disobedience, attempting to escape, embarrassing their host, etc), the master or mistress is allotted a full refund. as for the failed breeder, they will not be allowed to return and will be sold to another house to make up for their losses. please note that the above condition is different than a contract with a master or mistress expiring naturally. breeders will happily be accepted back upon contract expiration.
their breeders are housed within the manor, usually sharing a suite with two bedrooms and a common area. they also attend training sessions in etiquette, child rearing, cooking, sewing, and providing for their mate.

GEMINI HOUSE: gemini house does not provide any special training or quality accommodations for their breeders, so it's russian roulette on what sort they might be. however, their prices are reasonable for any master or mistress who manages their money well. it is considered to be a reliable and affordable means to an end. gemini house is run like a business and the higher-ups rarely come into contact with the product. breeders are often assigned a "handler" who manages their case and markets them to buyers. unlike the other two houses, it is very common for the mate to not meet their master or mistress until everything is finalized and they are dropped off at their house.
breeders are housed in apartments of up to three until they are purchased off the market. they receive a meager monthly stipend for goods and it is their responsibility to make it last between contracts.

BLUSHING LOTUS HOUSE: though pretty in name, the lotus house is equivalent to a brothel. their breeders a considered to be the bottom of the barrel, but they are the most affordable and easiest to acquire. most of these breeders come from poverty, have been subjugated from outside clans, or are ineligible for return to prior houses due to behavioral issues. in other words, these poor souls have nowhere else to go. for a small fee, "trying out" a breeder before a master or mistress takes them home is fairly common here. equally as common is the fact that it often leads nowhere. masters and mistresses treat this more like a whorehouse than actually thinking about making a permanent investment. unlike the other houses, it is co-run by both a madam and a pimp.
their breeders are housed in cramped dormitories of up to six until they are purchased off the market. their are provided with no amenities outside of a roof over their heads and must purchase their own goods.

no ooc drama, bullying, exclusion, god-moding, bubble rping, or face-chasing will be tolerated. you will receive one warning only for this behavior and will be promptly removed if it continues.

this is a mature rp. you must be 20+ ooc to join. your faceclaims and characters must also be 20+. please bear in mind that a/b/o lore has always been heavily intertwined with concepts such as kink, mpreg/lpreg, and fantasy ism. this rp itself is heavily influenced by master/pet, master/slave, and dom/sub dynamics. if you find these concepts uncomfortable, this may not be the place for you.
be respectful of other players and understand that they might not be comfortable with seeing certain content. extreme plots should always be agreed upon by both parties. surprises are all well and good, but do not take away a character or roleplayer's right to make their own decisions.

activity rules

inactivity is 2 weeks. we aim to be relatively self paced. there is a room which may be used for journal entries or oneshots while waiting for partners to reply or to help boost muse. please remember to tag obvious triggers.

you will receive a warning in PM for inactivity. that way everyone can keep their walls nice and pretty. you will have 48 hours to respond before you are removed.

must have a profile picture and a basic profile up within 48 hours of acceptance. please include your character's name, secondary gender, whether they are a master/mistress or breeder, and their job if applicable.

a full hiatus is three weeks. please only take these if something comes up where you don’t think you will be able to log on at all. you must give an estimated return date, but may message the admin if there is any change to that. you will receive a message from the admin when your hiatus is up and you must reply within 24 hours or you will be removed from the roleplay. this is to prevent character hogging.

THREE CHARACTER LIMIT. you may request a second immediately, but a third will need a total of 300 post points collectively. more characters after that will be negotiated on a case by case basis.

once your first two weeks are up, you may have your character request a personal room. move in couples are discouraged, but not unwelcome. dating ban of one month and a mating ban of one month after your couple becomes official. take your time to build your relationships.

pregnancy is allowed. partners must purchase the required item from the store and then group message an admin for approval (unless it is a pregnancy by an NPC for single parent muses). however, we do not allow playable kid characters.

we know that some omegaverse roleplays have a large emphasis on hybrids or wolves who can shapeshift. there is no shifting in the rp. however, to accommodate people who are used to playing an animal hybrid character in this setting, we have decided to include a different concept called "resonants." far in the past, hybrids did exist, but as society modernized, there became less of a purpose for shifting. yet people can still resonate strongly with their ancestral animal and have certain behaviors or traits which are similar (like a bunny thumping its foot, a wolf being more active during the full moon, etc). this will allow people who want to pursue writing those types of characters to do so, while allowing others to play humans seamlessly.

masters and mistresses may own up to three breeders at one time. when applying as a breeder/mate, you may freelance or be members of the houses listed below. regardless, everyone will be listed on the market automatically (though price will differ depending on your choice).
