@[PS] krystal jung Myungsoo wanted nothing more than to call her by her actual name, the name which was so special for both of them. He knew he is the only one who can call her that but it wasn't the same anymore. How he wished he can take back what he said to her. Yes, he regretted it, breaking up with her. He had hurt both him and her by his cowardly act. If he loved her, he was willing to take all the risks. Maybe he didn't suit to be a knight. A coward like him shouldn't protect people when he couldn't even protect the girl he loved.

He was so foolish to think that he did a right thing but no, it was wrong. He still loved her but he didn't know if she still does because she seemed so unaffected by it but deep down he knew she is hurting because he knew her better than everybody else.

The knight lowered his head at the question before braving himself to look at her, shaking his head simply. "How have you been?" He asked softly as he eyed her with a longing expression. He really wanted to pull her back into his arms.

@kim myungsoo With the formalities, Krystal fought back the urge to cringe. Never had she once liked it when, unlike the other servants, Myungsoo used such formality on her. From the very beginning, she’d always tell him to simply call her by her name—Soojung. The name she never once let anyone call her. Because all these years, she had believed that Soojung was but a mere memory of the innocent girl who knew nothing about the world. The pure little girl who was too young and too raw. He was the only one she gave enough permission to call her by the name she had forgotten about—all because he’s her lover.

But things were ought to change, eventually. To him, she was no longer Soojung. To him, she’s now Krystal Jung.

/Princess/ Krystal Jung.

Returning the bow as a sign of politeness, she managed a tight smile.

“Anything new?” she asks, her voice nonchalant. Conceal, don’ feel, as quoted from a movie. He doesn’t have to know whether or not she was still in pain or has she moved on—all because it was him who ended things between the two of them to start with. Seeing that Krystal was the princess, you would have thought it was her who broke up with him. But she loved him too much, she let herself fall too hard to even be the one to pick herself up and push him away.

She was a living mess.

@[PS] krystal jung This was too much for him to bear. Once he heard her calling him in a formality made the pain on his chest much even worse. He fluttered his eyes open and braved himself to look into her eyes. He didn't see love on those brown orbs which he loved so much like it used to. But he couldn't blame her, he was the one who give up on her. He should take all the blame.

Kim Myungsoo wasn't that good at hiding his emotions, he was actually pretty weak at it and it showed on both of his eyes also his gestures. His hands formed into a fists before releasing it again, his eyes were unfocused because he doesn't want to see her right in the eyes because it will only tell him the truth. The bitter truth that she had already forgotten about him.

Was it that easy for her to forget him? Forget the love they once shared in the past? Past. It was only a past isn't it? There was no future for both of them, he just needed to learn to accept that.

He straightened up his posture and bowed at the princess like he usually did in front of the Royal family. "Your highness."

After all, what passed had already gone by. What was there to hold a grudge about?

Ah, because it still hurt. The wound was still fresh, and with the fact that they still see each other within the palace grounds even caused her worse torment. She didn’t stop loving him, really—she just stopped making an effort to make things work out because she knew he already gave up. What was the point of holding onto something who had already let go of you? It’s like falling over a cliff with nothing but a concrete ground to land onto.

So in the end, all she had to do was pretend as though she wasn’t hurting. It was, after all, for the best. If she had been good enough at deceiving people, making them believe that she’s a goody two shoes kind of princess who lived in luxury and girly , then she’ll be good enough at putting up an act that she’s feeling nothing at all. Doesn’t heartbreak lead to numbness, anyway? First stages of break up, and you won’t feel anything but pain. Melancholy. Second stage is feeling nothing at all.

And here she was.

“Kim Myungsoo,” she addresses him formally, her voice never giving away anything at all. Not even her face.

@[PS] krystal jung Myungsoo was on his usual patrol around the castle with his mind filled with thoughts. About a few things which were happening outside and within the castle. As a knight he needed to take caution all the times, protecting the royal family with all costs even his own life. He needed to feed his siblings because all of them were all orphans since their parents passed away so he carried the responsibility to take care of them, replacing his parents.

The knight had arrived at the courtyard, looked around and saw a person he had been longing to see but also wanted to avoid. The princess herself standing a few feet away from him, looking right at him. He stopped his steps and felt like he was frozen on his spot. He couldn't move. He couldn't walk away and avoided her gaze because it's only going to hurt her, he had caused her enough pain and he didn't want to double it because of his stupid actions. But what should he do?

He really wanted to approach her like he used to with his lips formed into a charming smile just by the sight of her, holding her in his strong arms, kissed her and showered her with affections but he couldn't. He was the one who put an end to their relationship. He was the one who wanted to break up, so he didn't have the right to do things he used to do and it pained him.

It hurt so bad because his feeling towards her was still strong and it never faded away. His chest clenched tightly just by looking at her, you could see a glimpse of sadness and regret on both of his brown orbs also pain. Myungsoo shut his eyes tightly and took a deep breath before releasing it through his mouth.

Sometimes he wished that he were a guy with a higher status, that way he could be with her. And he promised that he will cherish her forever if that really happened but that was only his imagination.

@kim myungsoo Like any other people out there, Krystal was just one of those who had a fair share of a tragic love story. She didn't intend to have things screwed up, or to have her own heart broken - but she had always told herself that maybe that certain 'love' was not enough to keep them together.

Krystal Jung was a public figure. A role model to those who admires her and looks up to her. A princess. She had been born a royalty; grown up in such a luxurious kind of living just like any other royalty ever born in their generation. But she had never grown accustomed to the idea that a royalty like her must only love one of the same status as her - or perhaps one who could be possibly made king if the crown could possibly be given to her. She had never grown accustomed to the idea that as a princess, she must only be involved with someone of the same level as her. After all, does she live in a palace of different statuses.

But boy, was it such a pain. A tragic reality. The pang of bitter reality.

She fell. Hard. He had been there to catch her, yes - and she lasted so long within his arms without a single damage. But eventually, as time passed, love was ought to fade away. Maybe they were not meant to be - or maybe their love wasn't just enough. Whatever the reason was, she cannot quite understand.

She thought things would last.

Their novel had reached it's ending page.

With a sigh, she pushed the memories away as she stands up from her seat, straightening the creases formed in her skirt. That was by then when she realized how he stood there.

He who had once been the target of her affections.

@[PS] krystal jung People said love can be a wonderful thing or a bad thing. The feeling when someone you love accepted you as his or her make you like the happiest person alive. Or when you got rejected, it would make you feel that certain pain on your chest.

For a certain male for Kim Myungsoo, he was one of the luckiest man on earth. Well at least that what people thought. He had caught the heart of the most beautiful girl in this country, the girl he loved with all of his heart and she felt the same way about him but sadly their statuses was their only obstacle. Maybe it was right that love doesn't depend on positions or statuses but it wasn't that simple because she was a princess and hr was a knight. Their love was forbidden. He thought forbidden love only happens inside a fairytales or stories but he was wrong. A girl like her only married a guy who had the same status as her, a guy who came from a royal family not a guy like him.

But surprisingly she didn't think much about the fact that he is just an ordinary guy who didn't have wealth, power and whatsoever. She loved him for who he is and he was really grateful for it. Both of them were happy when they were together and felt like he doesn't need anyone else as long he had her. Everything was perfect until his insecurity kicked in. No matter how much he tried to convince himself that everything is going yo be alright, he knew so well that it's not. People wouldn't ever approve their relationship, the king nor the queen or everybody else. He didn't want to make her to be in trouble because of him. So he asked for a break up, that was the most stupid decision he had ever made in his entire live. He broke her heart, he lost her. But until now the knight was still stealing glances at the princess but quickly looked away when she noticed his presence and dissappeared.

Call him a coward but once again, it wasn't that easy.
