▶ TEACHER BLOCK

For someone that more than likely isn’t even supposed to be here, Yoshua walked confidently walked down the halls in search of his prize. He wasn’t entirely sure what the etiquette was for stopping by unannounced at the living quarter of the estranged friend you hadn’t seen in years. Assuming this was indeed the apartment of whom he hoped it to be. It was mostly hunch but there weren’t likely to be a whole slew of ‘Professor Divaio’s teaching at a South Korean University.


He and Mariano had been outstandingly close back in the day despite the difference in age and interests, hopefully he considered him a good enough friend that this didn’t feel like an intrusion. The overwhelming sea of strangers and the country was beginning to lose its novelty in exchange for a sense of frustrating suffocation. By now, Yoshua was craving a familiar face, a familiar anything really, so when he overheard a group of students cackling over how handsome ‘Professor Divaio’ was he couldn’t help but consider it divine intervention. He dug into the pockets of his jeans, fishing out the crumpled piece of paper that held what was supposed to be her address on it. He double, then triple checked the numbers before him to be certain he had it right.

He was feeling a bit adventurous today and ventured a knock on the door, waiting a few moments before ringing the bell for good measure. Yoshua toed the doorstep in front of him while he waited for a response, twisting his nose up in disgust at his choice in footwear. He had come straight from practice, barely taking a moment to shower and change in the locker room, and hadn’t had time to slip into anything but the sweats and plain white tee shirt he’d left the house in. His running shoes were comfy but not very stylish and probably not at all conducive to a reunion of this nature. He half-shrugged realizing there was nothing he could do about it at the moment.
