@amber Yifan shook his head. "No, i'm not looking for someone. I never go to school with another person before", he grinned. "besides, this street is empty most of the times, who should i wait for?", he frowned. "Oh yeah! you said that you've never seen me here right? Same for me, this is the first time i meet you here. I've never seen anyone from our school passes this street", he smiled. actually he chose that street intentionally because he wanted to avoid the group of girls who usually stalked him, so he could go to school in peace.
Yifan laughed when Amber said sorry to him. "what? why are you apologizing? it's not your fault that the books are wet. You're just the unlucky one here!", he shook his head. "don't worry", he said.
"i'm confident enough without this. But this is my style!", he grinned. Actually he used the earbud so that people would pay less attention to him since they thought that he didn't pat attention to them too. He felt a bit embarrassed when too much people looking at him, but he couldn't say it to Amber.
"Ops sorry!", He apologized for stopping all of a sudden. He raised his eyebrow when she said that he was just being paranoid. "Really?", he asked. "oh, i think you're right! let's hurry!", he looked around once again before continue walking.
@kris Raising an eyebrow, Amber slowly nodded. "I would hope so, man. I think we sit a few rows away from each other." She noticed Yifan scanning his surroundings warily, and spoke up. "Hey, um, are you looking for someone, or?" His behavior was a bit suspicious, but she brushed it off for the most part. If he was waiting for someone or needed to wait, then she could just go on ahead without him.
When he offered to assist her, the younger flashed a smile. "Alright! Thanks for helping me out. And sorry about the... wet condition of the books." Yifan glanced around once more, and her smile dimmed in slight confusion. "Yeah, uh, we got to go to school." She realized that he didn't answer her other inquiry about her having never seen him on this particular street before. "If you want to get to class together, then sure, let's go together."
Amber snorted when he mentioned confidence. "Yifan, I'm pretty sure that you should be confident enough in yourself without an earbud in to boost your self morale." Plus, being pleasing to the eyes of females wouldn't necessarily amount to confidence; looks weren't everything. She refrained from telling him this, however. Whatever worked for Yifan, worked, she guessed, however much bs she called out on it being a habit.
The other grabbed her arm, and she slightly jolted at the sudden action. "Oh, wow, we're- okay," she fumbled, quickly trying to match his fast pace and longer legs. When he suddenly stopped, she bumped into his back roughly with an "oof!" and looked up at him in bewilderment. "Uh, if someone is watching us?" she tersely asked, looking around.
There wasn't anyone behind them, or watching them.
"I think it's just you being paranoid, man," Amber said with finality.
"yeah! and you're Amber Liu right? I know you", he smiled. "Oh! i feel sorry about that", he frowned. "I will help you if you want", he smiled and looked around to make sure nobody watching them. He didn't usually help people, especially girls. Because the girls in his school would go insane if they know he helps a girl. They could pretend like they need help too the next day, and it really annoyed him. But it looked like this girl was really in trouble, and nobody watching them there. That street was empty like usual. Besides, it would be okay even if one or two person watching them, because Amber's appearance looked more like a boy than a girl.
"I will help you carry those books", he offered her helps when he realized that she didn't bring a backpack with her. Just then he felt like someone was looking over them. But he didn't find anyone when he looked around. Maybe he was just imagining things. "Me? i'm okay. And yeah, i'm going to school. How about we go to school together?" he smiled.
"this?", he looked at his earphone. "oh! you realized?", he chuckled. "well, it's just my habit. it will raise up my confidence", he d his hair.
Yifan shook his head. "oh yeah! we have to go now or we will be late", he grabbed her arm and walked fast. Suddenly he stopped when he felt like someone was following him again. But he still found nothing while looking around. "Hey! Do you think like someone is watching over us? Or is it just me?", he asked to Amber and raised his eyebrow.
@kris ( becAUSE IT WAS HIS STYLE IDK WHY IM LAUGHING SO HARD -- )
Making a face, Amber retrieved the book from the other's hands. "Thanks, man," she tiredly replied. Not only did she make a fool out of herself and was still alive to vividly remember the event during deep-thinking late nights tossing and turning in bed, she made a fool out of herself in front of one of her classmates. She wasn't exactly thrilled on being individualized by her mistakes currently being made. "I, uh, I'm not exactly okay, but thank you for asking." She appreciated the thought, even if she didn't quite remember the other's name. Yes, he was her friend, but she spoke to the guy a few times a day since he was in only one of her classes, and then their schedules diverged after that. Staring at his face, she pursed her lips in thought, and then opened to let out a silent 'ah.' "You're Yifan, right? In my Chemistry 102 course?"
She chuckled, a dry, mirthless sound that depicted just how thrilled she was that morning. "Why I'm in a mess? Man, I don't even know. I- I guess I just woke up on the bad side of the bed today? I don't know. I'm tired. I got four hours of sleep." Curse Room 524A for that party; she could still feel the bass resonating within the walls. "Needed to study for an exam coming up and I couldn't concentrate for hours."
Eyeing the other with narrowed eyes, Amber began, "And what about you? Are /you/ okay? I've been taking this street for a while and I've never seen you. Don't you drive to school or something?" She glanced at his earbud with suspicion, not hearing any muffled sounds escape. "Are you even playing any music, man?"
@amber Yifan woke earlier than usual, he woke right before his alarm rang. He shut it off immediately. The reason why he woke early this morning was simply because he had a bad dream. He don't really remember what he dreamed. It was weird how he could tell it was a bad dream even though he couldn't remember that. He just felt really unpleasant right now. He woke up from his bed immediately and tidied his bed. He took a bath and had a toast as a breakfast like usual. He realized that his life was just the same everyday since he was kicked out. He wakes up everyday, go to campus, working part time, and come back to his small apartment he called home. Well, he's clever and popular at school. But still, what could he expect more?
Yifan took his backpack and left his apartment after finishing his breakfast. He walked along the street, wearing an earphone around his ear. And to be honest, he didn't listen to anything, he just using the earphone because it was his style. He keep walking until he heard a sound of heavy footsteps. He took off his earphone and rushed to look at it. And he saw a familiar face. She's his friend, her name is Amber. And looks like she was in a hurry. He could see her tripped over a rock and fell to the ground with a thud right after that. He rushed to help her immediately. He picked her soaked notebooks which was closer to him first. Then he came to her. "Are you okay?", he asked her even though he knew that she wouldn't be okay. "here's your book", he smiled while giving her the notebooks.
"Hey! why are you in a mess like this?", he asked her and raised his eyebrow.
That day that she woke up, Amber knew that it was going to be a hard day. It was law that once a week (perhaps every other day, if you were unlucky enough), college students would go through the worst times known in their lives and struggle to make something positive out of it. You're trying to wake up, but your alarm clock just wouldn't shut up, and by the time you slam it down to take the batteries out, you realize you only have half an hour to get to class without being late. You hurriedly shuffle to the bathroom, only to discover that your roommate's clogged it up with remnants of last night's party in Room 524A just down the hall, and that she ate the last of the cereal, so not only are you dressed like a hot mess, drowsy and fussy, you're also starving.
Amber was heading to class, in fact, right at that moment, with a sock on her left foot (the right one was missing; she suspected it slipped in between the wall and her bedframe) and a nasty case of bedhair, which, in the right lighting and angle, could be pulled off as somewhat appealing. The above account may or may not have come from her, and she also may or may not be lacking a bag to shove her books in (the roommate possibly may have soiled her backpack with what seemed like alcohol stew with a hint of stomach acid), so, yeah, she wasn't exactly having a good day.
Using a hand to rub across her face, hoping to wake herself up more, the girl heavily sighed. God, she wanted this day to get over quickly.
Unfortunately for her, as if higher beings wanted her to have an even worse day, she tripped over a sharp rock sticking out from the concrete, and her books and phone held in her other hand scattered to the hard ground, books flying into a puddle that accumulated from the rainfall the previous night. Sighing and crouching down to pick her things up, she began to grumble even more when she saw the large crack on her phone screen extending from the top corner to the bottom, and Amber whispered out a low curse. Of course. She had to ruin her phone and dirty her (now soaked) notebooks.
hello. urm, can i go on a hiatus for two weeks? this week had been very difficult for me. i have a test next week and i'm deeply shocked and sad (like i'm crying right now) from eunb's death. she had been my bias since ladies' code's debut. so, the pain is really excruciating for me to swallow. so, yeah, i don't feel like roleplaying that much when i feel very sad.
