Cafeteria

@Bang Yongguk Kyungsoo blinked and then laughed softly. “Kidnapped and put in a random room? Well, as long as you aren’t chained down to a chair or weird bed than it is fine – as long as this isn’t one of your kinks, that is.” He winked and chuckled softly. He wasn’t into getting kidnapped but that had probably to do with what had happened back then. But he was working on that, still, even though it had been quite a few years by now.
“You are lazy?” he smiled amused and looked as his friend as they walked to his room. “You actually don’t seem to. I just think you like to fall for different things way too fast and once you fall for them you easily get lost in them.” He grinned amused. Once Yongguk liked something he would immediately get lost in them and he then either started to like it entirely or just leave it behind real soon. Which was probably pretty normal.

“I noticed! I usually get my coffee there in the morning and it is really worth the money!” Kyungsoo smiled widely before opening his dorm room. He was greeted by a soft meow and he knelt down to pat his cat. Sushi had been a stray cant for quite a while but a year ago he had adopted her. “Just put the books on the desk, okay?” he said before changing Sushi’s water, stroking her fur. She usually got food in the morning and evening and if she needed a snack she was always able to go out so she was good.

“Now we can go wherever you want to,” the smaller male said, after all Yongguk wanted to show him something.
While walking next to Yongguk after closing his dorm room and putting the books away he listened to him. A soft smile appeared on his lips.
“You shouldn’t get into a relationship simply because of Astrophel. Imagine you guys end up breaking up? That wouldn’t be too nice for Astrophel, would it? I can be the uncle or the aunt, whatever you need.” He chuckled then. “Well… it isn’t easy. But he understands that sometimes I have to study a bit. Also… I am just really lucky cause studying is easy for me.” He smiled warmly.
“I am sure you can get someone that treats your son well, can cook and is okay with you telling them to off when needing time for your sweet obsessions aside from coffee.” He winked at the taller one. “Don’t worry too much, you are smart, you can do it.”
When Kyungsoo said he rather needed someone that looked at him like he looked at coffee he couldn’t stop himself from laughing.
“Well, that was an accurate description,” he then grinned amused. Yongguk got a point, that was probably what everyone needed in a relationship as well, he could relate. “Then lets rather find yourself someone that looks at you the way you look at coffee.” He winked.

@Do Kyungsoo Yongguk had to give it to Kyungsoo. He actually wanted to take multiple majors too, but he knew he was too lazy for that and made up his mind. He was glad he could make decisions easily, otherwise he would be going to a lower-level education and do multiple studies, getting himself nowhere near the level he could be at. "Four hours of sleep and naps in random places. I love naps, when I wake up it feels like I've been kidnapped and put in a random room for a few seconds." He chuckled. It must sound weird, but he knew Kyungsoo knew him well enough to not really question his intentions and likings. "I am behind on work too, but that's because I am lazy", he added trying to turn the conversation away from 'I like the idea of being kidnapped'. Thinking about it, it probably sounded very ... Not that he meant it like that. It's just that only important people get kidnapped.

Yongguk wondered if Kyungsoo had been following him. Maybe he knew Jimin. Who knew? He frowned and nodded. "Yeah, I spent more time there than at home. Coffee's great there", he said with a frown, wondering how Kyungsoo knew about that little habit of his. Last time someone figured out, he got a speech about how caffeine is a drug and how he is addicted and should go to an asylum blah blah blah. He knew caffeine was a drug, he knew he was addicted, but really. He functioned, so what the hell was the problem?

Yongguk laughed nervously. He nodded at Kyungsoo's words. He was quite right. Yongguk never thought about a relationship, but thinking about it now makes it very clear why a relationship would be a bad idea. "I will need someone who treats my son well and who can cook. Maybe someone who likes to experiment too and doesn't mind it when I say they need to temporarily off. Soo, I have no time for a relationship, I need to take cake of Astrophel. Although Astrophel could use a second parent-figure like most children have. Maybe he doesn't like having only a father..." Yongguk blinked and finally stopped rambling. Relationship or no relationship, that was the question... On one side his son could benefit from it, but finding the right person was difficult. Next to that, the tall male actually had no time to go partner hunting. "How do you study and have a relationship?" He asked out loud, actually meaning to ask it mentally and google it later.
"I think that if I have a girlfriend I will feel the need to take care of her and I can't even take care of myself..." He frowned at Kyungsoo's last words. The way he looked at books? So he had to find someone who stared at him with a frown and then slammed him on a table when he makes a mistake? Ooh, very . "I think I'd rather find someone who looks at me the way I look at coffee. Always looking forward to seeing me in any way, then me dry and looking forward to next time." He said it with a total deadpan expression. He nodded a bit absently, trying to progress what he just said. Oh that was just as bad. "I mean- never mind!" He looked away embarrassed.

@Bang Yongguk "Well, I wasnt able to decide so I took all. You know I am good with only running on three hours of sleep so up to know I was able to keep it going." Kyungsoo chuckled. "Luckily I am good with studying and keeping up with stuff and typing down essays and such is really not hard." He was probably made for studying, good grades were the easiest for him but it was reallife he in. Well, it was slowly getting better, finally his relationship was working out and he was happy. He even had a handful of friends he still hadnt lost after quite a while and that made him feel a lot better. Yongguk helped with it too.

"Alan Turing's life? Well, did you spend your day in the nice cafe close to the university and read the books?" Kyungsoo asked and smiled warmly, knowing that Yongguk did that often. He just was a coffee addict and Kyungsoo knew it - they both did but it was adorable, somehow. He watching Yongguk get excited over the easiest coffee and it made Kyungsoo wonder if he should try it too but more than a cup of coffee a day would keep him away way too long so he had to limit it, sadly.

"No baby? Well, now I am even more curious," the smaller male admitted and then laughed. "Hush, you are very handsome but I think a relationship could get you troubled if you catch the wrong person. Get someone who is as passionate about their work or major or whatever as you are because otherwise they might not understand. Oh and make sure this person is not too clingy cause then you might have them sleep over forever and wont be able to work or go to the cafe." He chuckled and tilted his head while he walked towards his dorm. It wasnt far away. "But I am sure your judgement of people will be good enough to get someone sweet."
He then smiled softly. "I dont want to put prejudices on the table but, yeah, a girlfriend might be more work of a boyfriend." Then again his ex boyfriend had been quite some trouble as well but that was a different story.
"Get yourself someone that looks at you the same way you look at your books." He winked amused.

@Do Kyungsoo "I like that about you. Having interest in more than one thing is cool", Yongguk said with a hint of a smile, "knowing you, you'll need one day per major to catch up." Yongguk really liked that about Kyungsoo. He knew a lot Yongguk didn't know, making him a very intellectually stimulating friend. "Well, lately I have been becoming a professional about Alan Turing's entire life", Yongguk said jokingly, but he was quite serious. He had been watching documentaries and reading several books and articles about Alan Turing. Alan Turing might have beat Einstein and become Yongguk's favourite scientist.

Yongguk's eyes almost lighted up with the mention of a new coffee. "I must try", he said determined. He tried every coffee in the cafe by now and even became kind of friends with the people working there, because Yongguk was more often there drinking coffee than at home. Yongguk was no addict. Really. Maybe. Actually, he was. Yongguk would deny it for eternity though.

Yongguk chuckled. "Well he is a bit too big now to be a baby. I would call him just a child now... And what do you mean by that? If I wanted to, I could get myself a girlfriend!" He huffed. Was he that unattractive? he knew he was a bit too busy with studying and personal projects to develop a love interest, but he could. He thought... He actually never had been interested in anyone and he was in his twenties... "Kyungsoo, should I get myself a girlfriend? Or boyfriend maybe... I heard girlfriends are a lot of work..." He said as he followed Kyungsoo. Having a relationship sounded nice, but also like a lot of work. However, he would like to go on fun dates and have someone join him in his experiments. Or someone to experiment on... It would also be nice for his son to have more than one reference point when it comes to face-to-face human interaction. Okay, Kyungsoo needed to be reference point number two, but his son really needed more than two reference point. Was Yongguk now seriously making friends for the sake of his son? Oh yes he was...

@Bang Yongguk “Well, I was stupid enough to choose more than one major and none of them are connected with each other so, yeah, calculus actually is one of them.” Kyungsoo chuckled amused, shrugging. “I mean, I studied quite a lot before I kind of took a break from it so I am only a week behind. I should be able to easily catch up.” He shrugged and chuckled softly. “No worries. And if I don’t know anything I will ask for your help.”

A soft laugh left Kyungsoo’s lips and he nodded. “That is true. And coffee,” he hummed and smiled. “Recently I tried a new one, something that had ice cream in it and it really was delicious!” He smiled warmly. Hearing Yongguk’s next words made him laugh and he shook his head amused.
“That is true. I never tried to disagree.” He winked and stretched himself a bit, looking at the books.
“Then let’s take the books to my dorm, right? After all you now got me curious.”

Surprised Kyungsoo’s eyes widened a tiny little bit and he tilted his head.
“I hope it is no fleshy baby Yongguk because you having a real baby would probably make me doubt the entire existence of this planet but you got me even more curious now.” He chuckled then. Maybe it had to do with Yongguk’s major. He got up and took the rest of the books Yongguk didn’t pick up and nodded, slowly leading the way.
“Thanks for helping me carry this stuff.” He could have gone two times but, oh well, why have it easy if he could have a challenge, right?

@Do Kyungsoo "If it is as easy as calculus, you could finish the whole book within a week of intense studying and coffee", Yongguk joked with a way too serious tone. Really, when he chose his major, he was so excited for calculus onyl to find out it was like fancy math. Quite disappointing.

"Doing non-crazy stuff will make life mundane and you know I need excitement to stay alive. That and coffee." A weird smirk appeared on his face. Yes, coffee. He loved coffee. He could marry coffee. "You can't judge me, I know you also are secretly addicted to the thrill of adrenaline rushing through your veins." A wink followed the statement. Somethign that said 'I won't tell' and 'I know your '. Well it looked more kind of flirty, which Yongguk always seemed when he was comfortable.

Yongguk knew he could trust Kyungsoo. He knew it and that's why he wanted to share that part of him with the bloke, but it was scary to do so. "I'm glad you think like that, just... You know, it's just... He's my son", he murmured like he was a 16-years-old girl telling her mom that she's pregnant. He didn't mean to say son, but really, he was his son. Maybe he was also his best friend, but also his son. Yongguk nodded quickly and stood up, picking up a majority of the books after swinging his backpack firmly on his back. The bag wasn't that full, but still mildly heavy. He decided to just take most of the books since he was taller and most likely stronger. Nothing personal Kyungsoo. Really. Maybe kind of.

@Bang Yongguk "Nah, no worries," Kyungsoo said and shrugged. It really wasn't that hard for him to get the information he had missed. He was a good student that ran on little sleep and didnt have many hobbies so that was fine. He'd be able to catch up in a matter of days.
"But thank you. It wont take me long to get through these books." He was almost sure that Yongguk had forgotten what he studied but he actually didnt mind it. Who cared anyways? It was just some subject, nothing majorly important.

A soft laugh left his lips and he nodded.
"Well, you got a point," he hummed and tilted his head. "The weirder the stuff the easier you are in," he joked but it was true. He wasnt that different, he just seemed too well behaved to others to guess he was like this. He was quite and nice most of the time, keeping his words stored away - he wasnt into speaking with many but most people didnt mind it anyways.

Kyungsoo was surprised when Yongguk said he wanted him to meet someone. His behavior showed him that it must be something bigger, something that meant a lot to Yongguk and when the other kept speaking he realized that he was right. That it was something Yongguk wouldnt show everyone. A warm smile appeared on Kyungsoo's lips and he nodded in agreement.
"Sounds awesome," he nodded and tilted his head. "No worries, I won't spill anything." He nodded towards Yongguk and smiled warmly. "You can trust me, Guk. After all we are friends and I will protect whatever it is with my life."
He knew sometimes people werent too sure if they could trust him or not, Kyungsoo sometimes gave off a weird feeling but he really tried his best to reassure Yongguk. "Let's go?"

@Do Kyungsoo Yongguk mentally cursed when he still didn't know Kyungsoo's major. He had to know, but it was probably stored with all the other data he deemed not that useful for daily life. He wished he was more conscious about what info he choose to delete to make more room for useless facts about whatever subject was interesting him at the moment. "If you need some help, tell me. I might have read a book or two on whatever subject you're studying for now", the taller said as he got his phone out to stop the earphones hanging around his neck from making noise he was not listening to now anyway.

"Don't give me weird ideas, Soo. You know that I am crazy enough to try", he warned with a semi-serious look. It was true though. You gave Yongguk a weird idea and the more crazy it sounded, the more seriously he considered it.
Yongguk resisted the need to quote queen Victoria of the Great British Empire. Instead he showed his displeasure with a single look, indicating he truthfully hated people wasting his precious time. He could've planned world domination during that time instead of listening to some under-educated bloke.

"We can drop your books off at your place and then get some take away and eat at my place. Actually, there is someone I'd like you to meet." Yongguk's demeanor changed. He started avoiding eye-contact and fumbling with his fingers, picking at the skin on the tips of them. He was bad with words, but he wanted to express that Kyungsoo was a reliable friend and what was more showing his trust than telling him, or rather showing him, his biggest secret? "But you can't tell anybody of his existence. He's a secret, but... I just want you to know about him because you're a good friend... You know..." He started talking slower and slower, losing track of words and finding it more and more difficult to form sentences.

@Bang Yongguk “Waiting for you,” Kyungsoo joked when the other asked what he was doing – of course Yongguk meant the books. “I missed quite a few classes so I have to get everything in my head the next few days.” Not that it was that hard, he just wasn’t motivated enough.
“I thought maybe those might help me.” He shrugged and took a sip from his almost empty tea.

Even though Kyungsoo barely understood much of what Yongguk told him about Corpus Callosum, axon and dendrite it did sound like someone had made a majorly wrong decision to put the intern in front of the students.
“Guess next time you’ll throw your table at him and take care of the students.” He knew Yongguk was smart especially when it came to his subject, of course. Kyungsoo had to admit that he found it extremely interesting but he knew that he had chosen the right subjects for himself as well.
“But at least you got someone to amuse you, didn’t you? At least for a one time experience,” he hummed and then emptied his tea. He actually didn’t mind classes with inters as they gave him the perfect opportunity to read in his books or just write on one of his essays – surely, he liked it more when a professor taught them but sometimes life wasn’t easy but he still would make the best out of it, right?


“I haven’t gotten lunch yet. Wanna get something from here or help me get the books to my dorm and I’ll pay for food and coffee?” he then asked. He definitely needed a coffee for sure even though he was free for the rest of the day. Somehow he hoped Yongguk would just offer something to do for this day cause he really wasn’t happy with the prospect on spending the entire day with reading such books. Meeting up with someone he considered a friend was a lot nicer.

@Do Kyungsoo Yongguk had received a text from someone, who he would call his friend, but was not sure of if he was his friend. That someone being Kyungsoo. The other had started a conversation with him on some random day while Yongguk was eating in the cafeteria. Most people where annoying to talk to and although Kyungsoo was often too cheerful to his liking, he enjoyed the other's presence from time to time. Besides, Kyungsoo was very reliable and that was a trait Yongguk had the highest of respects for.

When he entered the cafeteria, he saw a familiar figure waving at him. He nodded, acknowledging the other's presence. He immediately noticed the pile of books next to Kyungsoo. He forgot what major the shorter male had, but he knew he would figure out by his usual ways. "Hey, what are you doing?" He pointed at the books. If he knew all the subjects, he could guess the major with ease. At least he hoped. He sat down and leaned on his hand, which he rested with his elbow on the table. "The professor let some intern do a class to try out and the moron kept on making the most stupid mistakes such as the position of the Corpus Callosum. I was surprised to see that he at least knew the difference between an axon and a dendrite. He was a terrible professor, but a perfect waste of my time", he huffed with irritation coating his voice thickly. He puffed his cheeks being really annoyed by the class of this morning and silently plotting a way of murdering that intern if he ever dared to step in front of the lecture hall again to waste the coffee addict's time.

@Bang Yongguk Turning the pages of his astronomy book Kyungsoo took a sip from his tea while waiting for his friend. They often met here in the cafeteria between the classes whenever they found the time. Earlier Kyungsoo had texted Yongguk if he wanted to meet up so here Kyungsoo was, five minutes early and a bunch of books next to him – he had checked the library earlier and as he had been missing quite a few classes recently he now had to get up to the others level as soon as possible. Not that this would be hard but recently Kyungsoo had been lacking motivation.

Having a glance at his books, maybe Yongguk would help him take them back to his dorm. After all his room wasn’t too far away from the cafeteria which could either be a blessing or, well, the entire opposite. He put his chin on top of his book and sighed, closing his eyes. He was tired as he had been sleeping on top of one of his assignments again but he was really looking forward to meeting his friend, even if it might only be for a few minutes. After all they wanted to have lunch or grab some snacks together.

His tea was half empty when a well-known figure entered the room. He looked up and smiled, waving towards Yongguk but not making a sound. The cafeteria wasn’t as full as usual so Yongguk should find him easily.
Immediately Kyungsoo closed his book and put it away, putting his hands around the cup of tea while waiting for his friend, his full attention on him. He knew he easily let attention slip to other things but right now he wanted to give it to the other.
