@PARK BOM He smiles at the woman. "Really? You know someone for me? I'd love to meet him!" He smiles and chuckles. He thought of her as a younger sister. He smiles. "If I ask who it is a blind date won't work... So I won't ask." He said.
@DO KYUNGSOO She grinned at the young man. He was so sweet, she was already starting to think of him as a younger brother. "You and me both. Actually, regarding that love thing, there's someone I know you might like to meet. Maybe you and him could go on a blind date or something, huh?" She laughed. Just being around Kyungsoo was already making her happier, and she wanted to help him be happy, too.
@PARK BOM "But....." He starts. "I'm sure there are... But... I'm sure I will but...." He can't finish any sentences. He smiles at the woman. Her suggestion was wonderful. "Yes. I suppose we could! It would be nice to help each other with this love thing." He was happy now and smiling.
@DO KYUNGSOO "No...I disagree. You're kind, right? And since you're famous, a lot of people will know you. So there's bound to be lots of people who love you - not just girls, but boys too. You just have to find the right one, right?" She smiled. "Hey, tell you what - we can be friends and help each other out in understanding love, right?" She extended her hand to him.
@PARK BOM "Oh. I see." He said. He thought for a minute about what Bom was saying. "It does make sense. I know what you mean." He said. He looked at the ground. "I don't think I'll ever find love. A shy, schoolboy, pop star like me..." He closes his eyes and tries to imagine himself falling in love.
@DO KYUNGSOO "No! No, it wasn't a mean thing at all to say," she corrected quickly, and smiled to get her point across. "That's...the first time in a while I've ever heard someone say that to me and have it mean something. Thank you." She looked out at the stars, the fading glow of the sun. "I...I'm not sure if I have. There's this woman I met...but I don't know if it counts as love yet? Does that make sense?" She laughed.
@PARK BOM "I'm sorry. That was mean to say." He said. He felt like a for saying that to her. Though he himself had never fallen in love. "No. I have never fallen in love." He said. He has gotten mobbed by girls which didn't help. He loved males. Females were pretty, yes but males turned him on. "Have you fallen in love?"
@DO KYUNGSOO "Hmm? Y-yeah," she said, and looked away. She had been mobbed by guys in school, it was true. But not because she was pretty. They hadn't thought like that. She remembered the jeers, the catcalls - "ugly," "skinny," "coward," "nerd." She remembered being pushed into bathroom corners, her prescription glasses smashed against a sink; that was when she'd stopped wearing glasses, even though she needed them, because she knew what would happen if she wore them again. She supposed the one thing she could be happy for was that they all thought she was so ugly, they never tried to make a move on her, not once. Still, those boys were probably part of why she'd discovered her biuality, turning away from those that she'd thought were the wilder .
When she'd become an idol, that had changed. Then, men actually did think she was pretty. Her manager always had security with her warding off all the stalker fans, men and women alike, but she still saw them.
Since then, she'd come to view people calling her "pretty" in a very different way. Schoolgirl-Bom would have preened at such a compliment; idol-Bom quickly became sick of it. So many people only looked at her for her looks as an idol, that, nowadays, she wished they'd say something else, like, "Hey, you may not be a looker, but you have a beautiful voice." "Wow, you sure know a lot!" "You're so kind."
That didn't mean she didn't know when people meant it, though. Coming from a guy like this, one who didn't even care about girls' looks in that same physical, carnal way, it meant something, and she felt a warm surprise, hearing him say that. She smiled at him. "I'm sure you get mobbed by lots of people for being so kind, guys and girls alike, huh? They must be in love with you." She hoped he wouldn't feel bad for her saying that; she only wanted to return his compliment. "Did...you ever fall in love with someone yourself, though?"
@PARK BOM He closes his eyes. "Yes. Life is bothering me. Mainly my love life though." He said. He had no one. No man to love and to love him back. "I'm still searching for him." He frowns and leans against a wall. "I bet you don't know how that is. Pretty girl like you probably get mobbed by guys." He said. He felt bad because she probably feels bad now.
@DO KYUNGSOO She looked at him and giggled. "Afraid of heights?" She scooted off the concrete edge, smiling at his antics. "So, if you couldn't sleep, what's been keeping you awake? School?" That last bit was a joke; none of the idols here seemed to have time for school. Nevertheless, it was a bitter joke, since many idols had been bereft of the chance to go to school because of their strict, all-encompassing idol contracts, which took their lives away while they were in the flush of youth. That had been part of the reason why Bom had left, although, at thirty, she was probably too old for school. "Is life in general just bothering you?" She knew what was bothering her in particular - someone she'd met that night, a woman with stars in her eyes. But the woman was sleeping now; she didn't want to talk about her here.
@PARK BOM Kyungsoo was gonna sneak up on Bom but she saw him. "Okay." He said. He sits down. "No I couldn't sleep." He looks out afraid to look down. "We're pretty high up aren't we." He swallows hard.
He hated height. He always has. This was just freaking crazy for him to do. He looks down. He scrambled off the side. "Oh god."
@DO KYUNGSOO Bom sat on the edge of the rooftop, swinging her legs just a bit, staring out at the myriad lights of the city, flickering like so many fireflies in the cool night air. She knew it was dangerous to be sitting like this, but it gave her a certain thrill, too. It almost helped her cheer up.
She heard footsteps behind her, and, turning, saw Kyungsoo, one of the other idols in the penthouse. She smiled. "Couldn't sleep either?" She patted the space next to her. "It's a nice view from here. Come sit."
@LEE SEUNGHOON Hmm? /she looks back, slightly confused at the boy's actions, her head tilting to the left/
So close but yet so far... /quiet and dazed but goes along with it to break the ice/
Oh wow... /she smiles, gazing out to the horizon/ This is beautiful... Wait, where is it? /burrowing through her bag, she finds her phone to take a picture of the beautiful sky before settling down to watch the stars emerge in the night/
/she sits down with her phone in hands, laying on the ground even as she puts on her earphones, humming softly to a song as she stares up at the sky, the almost too pretty sight of the sun shining above making her smile to herself/
