@Nichkhun She didn't let go of the sword, no matter how hard he tugged at the chain. It was a good thing that the blade was made out of indestructible Stygian Iron. Unfortunately she couldn't pull it out of the wall and that left her weaponless. Nonetheless, Krystal held on it tight and tried hard, even going as far as to use the chains to pull.
@Krystal Finally, she lunged. Nichkhun thought about how sharp her sword was. Quickly, he lunged as well, grabbing the blade of the sword while attempting to pull it away from her hands. Behind him was the wall and there he'll attempt to stab the sharp weapon and probably bend the blade with his strength if the stabbing was successful. If he's lucky, he'll get it stuck.
@Nichkhun Sacrifices come a long way, and Krystal needed to sacrifice her sword for the fight to end. To her, it seemed like a chess game, with the two kings constantly avoiding the other's pawns. Of course, that's how she always sees a battle, a chess game. And with that, she lunged.
@Krystal "I guess so?" He shrugged as she increased the distance for him not to reach the sword. However, sooner or later she'll have to attack and he'll be waiting for it. While still staying near the walls, Nichkhun made himself vulnerable-looking as he tried to tempt Krystal into attacking him. "Go ahead..." He muttered.
@Nichkhun She jumped back to explain. "Well, that's the only thing I can think of that can be softhearted and aggressive. Though only some aspects are the same, it's still relevant, no?" At least within this distance, he can't be able to reach her sword. "Enough of this game. My patience can only last for such a few moments."
"Gentle beast?" He laughed but slightly frowned after watching the girl almost crash into the wall. Nichkhun watched the girl closely while contemplating whether to attack or not because he ain't winning at the waiting game that he's also playing. But this time he did, repeating the same goal of attempting to grab her sword to disarm her.
@Nichkhun (insert me apologizing for a hundred years for not replying because of a hiatus)
"Well, why don't we bring out the gentle beast then?" She almost crashed into the wall but Krystal inched away. Close combat is more preferable in her situation.
@Krystal “Trust me, I’m not softhearted. Maybe I am, but not always.” He chuckled, going onto his thoughts to explain things but there is still a battle at hand. Staying near the walls, Nichkhun kept in mind what learned in the previous attempt because that’s his last and only aid to win this.
“I don’t need to win it. A mark of an immature man will die nobly for a cause while a mark of a mature man will live humbly for one.” He muttered in a whisper, a lesson he learned from someone. “I’m not always and idiot you know? A coward, yes. A disgrace, yes. But I really couldn’t care less.” The girl charged at him, Nichkhun readied himself but she veered directions. Before doing anything, he kept his back flat on the wall to protect where he can’t see the enemy.
@Nichkhun Krystal sighed. "Why are you so softhearted anyway? We can just ask Sunggyu to heal us if there are many damages." Her eyebrow was raised at him, as if questioning a lot of things besides the topic at hand. "You can never win at war." Then she charged, but changed directions to confuse her opponent.
@Krystal Nichkhun nodded, wrapping the thin chain onto his hand again like a bandage as protection, everything covered except the first joints of his fingers. Even if the plan is predictable, he’ll just do things again and try to grab the sword away. “I’ll prove you wrong.” He smiled; it’s not about the win. He’ll prove her wrong that he can beat her without inflicting damages. If that’s possible, maybe there are many things to accomplish without sacrifices, even if it’s one drop of blood to offer.
@Nichkhun "Well it's a never ending battle anyway. None of us will win unless an accident happens," she shrugged and picked up the sword from the ground. Krystal pointed it at him. "Let's go then."
@Krystal “We are going through this again?” He asked then chuckled, but confessed, somewhat apologetic to deny her suggestions. “You have to know. I will always pick the same weapon, no matter how many times it will fail me, until I’ll make it effective.” Nichkhun walked over the weaponry and took out the same chain with the same thinness, length and its ability to grow back when cut.
@Nichkhun "So that we're even. You know what? I think your habit of making stupid decisions is rubbing off of me." she chuckled. "If you don't want to hit each other with fists, I suggest that you take a weapon, a reasonable one this time." Krystal gazed at his eyes, wanting him to know her intentions.
@Krystal “I’m sorry. You know… let’s not think of anything right now. Too much thinking is dangerous. Just do things. Try them out. As I've said, the world can't hold it against us anymore... The intentions will just depend on you.” He suggested after seeing her snap back at him. “This is why I don’t think.” He whispered to himself while watching the girl place her sword gently on the ground. Nichkhun rubbed the back of his neck, getting more confused. This girl was something. He didn’t know what to do or what to think about it. What’s going to happen next? Hand to hand combat? He just started laughing at himself for being confused. “Why?”
@Nichkhun "That's why I don't have many," she retorted. Krystal would rather sit back and see the world than experience it. She would be neutral about things to avoid them. There were only a few things that she liked anyway.
The daughter of Hades gently placed her sword on the ground. "Because it's not fair. And this is my retaliation for holding back against me earlier."
@Krystal “Not everyone…” He shrugged but started chuckling especially after hearing that he’s annoying. It’s good to hear people being that honest. “Tell you what, sport. Being everyone’s friend can be either a great experience or another curse…or both.” He talked while watching her action. Seeing that she’s going to attack, he stayed nearer to the walls and prepared himself. Yet the girl stepped back. Krystal faked it.
Seeing her do it, Nichkhun can’t see the reason why an opponent would do that especially if their advantage is huge enough to help them win. “Why are you holding back?” He asked slightly chuckling, letting go of his stance practically just standing there in confusion.
@Nichkhun "Well at first, I did. Not exactly annoyed but I liked your presence once a week. I was actually curious about how you can manage to befriend everyone. Yet I thought: he doesn't understand me...blabla," she explained. A lot of weeks had passed and look at her now, actually enjoying someone's company and craving more for it.
Krystal charged, but stepped back when she got close. She was attempting for a fake-out especially since Nichkhun was weaponless.
@Krystal After hearing what she said, Nichkhun started chuckling, “I see… but aren’t you annoyed? Truthfully, I find myself annoying.” Her statement was surprising because, he always expected that he’ll be getting on her nerves because for being loud like his father. Their territories opposed; their parents even despised each other but it’s cool that the two didn’t turn out that way. Maybe Zeus and Hades should learn from them at least.
He watched her go into an offensive stance. Slowly, Nichkhun stayed near the walls while eyeing her movements.
@Nichkhun "But your idiotic choices is one of the things that I like about you." She shrugs. "If you say so. Maybe after this can we have a casual chat." Krystal didn't deny that she actually liked spending time with someone. If only she could be like that to other people. The girl shook her head and put herself in an offensive stance, her sword pointing at him.
@Krystal “Yeah, I’m sure.” He opened both of his arms, confident about his choice. Then he thought about what she said and nodded. “Maybe I am sadistic, sure… I’ll accept that.” Even if he did something that was subconsciously offensive or something regrettable, perhaps the world can’t hold it against him anymore because the world already did. Being a half-blood is already a curse especially when sooner or later his strange prophecy would reveal itself and maybe he’ll die in it. The goodness in it is being unconscious, so in him he’s confident that it wasn’t intended.
“And maybe I am a moron but there’s nothing to regret in the end anyways. Be wise and live humbly or be reckless and die boldly. Either of the two, I couldn’t care less what I am.” He just stood there, waiting for the girl to do something. “Enough about me…”
*
"Are you sure? Because your first sentence and question sounded suggestive," Krystal snickers. The fact that he had responded that way after her teasing was really something. She didn't feel awkward about it (even though under normal circumstances she would as this was something going onto THAT level) but she wanted to see more of his quirky personality. She rubbed her hand and wrist when they were freed from the chain. "How about you be both? You're probably sadistic subconsciously and your choices are just regrettable for you."
@Krystal “The fun will come when one can’t hold their patience any longer.” He answered but inched away as she inched closer to him. She muttered something about turning to a sadist. That sort of struck him. Nichkhun went to his thoughts and nodded after some deliberations. “Were you hurt?” He asked, in a sort of teasing way. Still eyeing on her sword, he quickly frees her hand from the loop by untangling it with a technique that only he can do. “Nah… I’m not a sadist. A moron, maybe...” He chuckled and kept his distance away from Krystal after freeing her. Slowly, he unwrap his left hand then threw the chain away; along with the chain his right was holding. It left red imprints that made his hand look awkward. Then he went to a defensive stance, weaponless. Whatever his mind went to… had just concluded one fact: he really is a moron.
@Nichkhun "Where's the fun in that?" she questioned. A grin broke into her face. "I did say that I don't want ballet, it doesn't mean that I won't do other dances," Krystal inched closer to him, grin switched to a smirk. "By the way don't let the chains turn you into a sadist." How does her cousin react to these kinds of situations, she wondered.
@Krystal “Okay. No more ballet.” He chuckled, then muttered. “Let’s play the waiting game.” Trying to tempt her, Nichkhun showed her the length of chain that caught her. “You could’ve sliced this, you know?”
Half of his focus was poured on the sword. Anytime she’ll take it out, Nichkhun will definitely grab it. This was a really difficult challenge since he can’t do any real damage but it seems that Krystal herself was holding back, either she was holding back or was just being extra cautious.
@Nichkhun 'I'm never going to take ballet," she thought. All of the spinning was starting to make her feel woozy, but not enough to actually catch her off guard. Krystal just kept her sword in its position. There were other plans when something happens anyway.
@Krystal “I’m really impressed.” Perhaps, it was harder than he expected. His left hand wanted to reach out and just grab it but that would ruin his focus on other matters, like Krystal’s possible comeback. He tugged her closer again, his right being occupied in keeping her hand on the leash. This time, he twirled her in the same process with his protected left hand ready to grab the sword again with one of his foot attempting to sweep off her feet in the middle of being twirled.
@Nichkhun She tried to resist, but Krystal eventually got pulled in and her body followed every movement he made with the chain. He had gotten what he wanted, but she wasn't going to give up easily. Her hand stretched out the opposite direction of where Nichkhun was, determined to keep it out of his chains' reach.
@Krystal Seeing how the sword length, Nichkhun tried lunging towards with his left while keeping Krystal close to him with as his right was keeping her hand on leash. He tried seeking an opening for him to grab the sword or her other arm at least, but another idea came into his mind. Nichkhun kept himself near the walls. His right hand pulled the chains upward then veered another direction, attempting to make the girl’s hand follow as he tried to make her twirl around to expose her back along with the sword.
@Nichkhun Sensing that the prey was her sword, Krystal kept it out of the chains' reach by hiding it behind her back, just as her opponent did. At what she didn't sense was Nichkhun tugging at her captured arm. She let it go limp before as it was a bit tight, and it would become even more if she resisted. What happened next: she was pulled a lot more closer than he probably intended. The girl almost lost her balance but was able to regain it afterwards.
