The middle-aged woman cast Seolhyun a look of disapproval and raised a hand to bop the younger girl on the head, to which the latter responded by sticking out her tongue. The little pastry shop was one of the places Seolhyun enjoyed visiting the most, because despite her harsh exterior, the baker was always giving her samples to take home. She might have played up the whole ‘starving college student’ thing a little bit, but it seemed to work, since the older woman was always asking her if she ate enough. Pastries weren’t exactly part of a balanced diet, but they were free and damn tasty, so Seolhyun gladly accepted whatever she was offered. This time, it was a coffee custard roti bun, one of her favorites. She held it between her teeth as she took up two pastel-colored boxes and bounded out the door, waving a half-assed good-bye to the baker. After donning her helmet and stowing the cakes away, Seolhyun climbed aboard her rickety delivery scooter and sped off.
Today’s destination was a cafe she was all too familiar with. The man who ran it was nothing like her best friend, Hyeri. He was bossy and did everything at his pace, whether you followed along or not. Seolhyun was glad that he wasn’t /her/ employer, but she felt sorry for her old roommate who had to see his face almost every day. She applauded Naeun for her patience. Seolhyun knew that if she was in the other girl’s shoes, she would have been fired ages ago. Naeun was always the more resilient one between the two of them. It was probably one of the reasons why she was able to room with Seolhyun during the early half of their college career. Their habits did cause them to clash a few times, but they parted on good terms, and Seolhyun is glad she can still call Naeun a good friend. Unfortunately, work and school kept them from seeing each other outside of the cafe. The other girl seemed to be the same as ever once Seolhyun saw her; with waves of dark hair, delicate features, and a thin frame, Naeun was easy to recognize amongst the cafe-goers.
“Naeun, hey!” She greeted with a wave, after tugging the now half-eaten coffee bun out of . Seolhyun maneuvered across the cafe to hand her old roommate the box of cupcakes. “Here you go, one dozen! That’s for your boss.” With a smile, she placed a tinier box on top. “And that’s for you. I figured you can use a pick me up since you have to deal with his him,” she added with a grin, taking another bite of her own treat.
@Seolhyun Naeun leaned slightly against the counter for a brief moment - she knew she only worked on weekends exactly because the cafe was a bit more packed than usual, but lately it seemed to be getting worse. In a short spam of time Naeun had attended around five tables and three people sitting by the booths. She was glad she doesn't have anything against crowded places or else she would have left already. After the small break she quickly stood straight again, hand reaching for the tray with 4th table's order, just as she was about to head off her manager called her, that happened to be the chef at the cafe as well. He didn't even give her a proper chance to reply, speaking quite fast to not take much of her time. "Things are getting better for us, we need more people in the crew, do you know anyone at your university that would like to work? If you do tell me later, also can you stay until we close the cafe? Yes? Awesome, now go go." The guy, around his 30's, disappeared back in the kitchen even before she could react, it was typical of him. Rolling her eyes, Naeun put on her usual sweet smile and finally went to table 4.
Now she only had one problem. She wasn't the type to make a lot of friends at school and she surely wouldn't go around in search for someone who wabted the job. The more she thought about it the more she realized she would never find someone - well, her manager would just have to look himself for it. About an hour later, as Naeun cleaned up a now empty table, even trying to not think about it her mind was trying to fit people she knew - even if she wasn't close to them - to the cafe and surprisingly, just as if someone up there heard her plead, a girl that she happened to know just fine walked in, carrying a box that probably were the baked cupcakes her manager had asked earlier in the morning. It was Seolhyun, Naeun's ex-roommate. They shared a room for most part of Naeun's two first years at the university, but Naeun decided to move out when she started to babysit. They kept in touch, talking whenever they saw each other at the campus or when Seolhyun came to the cafe on weekends, even through text messages sometimes - a more rare case. Naeun's eyes light up at the sight of her - it was quite perfect. She knew Seolhyun had a lot more of work on weekends, but she also knew she didn't usually work in the mornings, which would help a lot already. Not helping her small excitment, Naeun called out a bit louder than usually, smiling brighter as well. "Seol~!"

nobody seems to like me enough to want to stay with me i suppose
maybe i'm not really love material
I think I repel women actually-
*laughs a little and gives a quick nod*

i promise my few staff and i will work extra hard and everything will be amazing
*blushes a bit as I notice your attempts to flirt, looking to your hand as you interlock our fingers, humming softly*

@Jo Sojin I hope you're not just saying that.
I did work hard on that bagel
*laughs a little and listens to you as you speak, frowning at the things you say*
he does it in front of the kids?
*furrows my brows and smiles as you start to move your hands, looking down and laughing softly, not wanting to admit how cute you look when you're worked up*
If you want I could pretend to be a parent writing to complain to the higher power or something
I can try to get him fired
*laughs a little and tilts my head when you stop, pouting a little*
you're what?
aigoo- are you blushing too?

*smiles and gives a nod*
I love kids..
I've always dreamed of having a huge family and a loving wife to come home to

*nods quickly and pulls out a pen*
I can make sandwiches if you tell me food allergies
or anything really-
tell me what they like and I'll make anything
especially for your class
*laughs a little and looks to your hand as it touches mine, blinking for a moment and moves my hand closer to yours, playing it off as if I had no idea, not wanting to be too forward*
Of course you could
I don't have many people over
so he'd love to meet a new friend
especially one as pretty as you
feel free to stop by whenever
@Jo Sojin not many people do-
i love it so much
*smiles a little and hums as you seem to like the bagel*
do you like it?
*pouts when you speak about your boss and shakes my head*
that's dumb-
you tell him i said he can on my big toe
*laughs a little before widening my eyes at what you say about him, pouting a little more and shakes my head*
that's so mean-
does he treat you that way?
I'm sorry you have to put up with all that...
*nods as I listen and widens my eyes again, covering my mouth a little*
he acts that way at a preschool?
Oh my god-
that's ridiculous..
*shakes my head quickly and gives you a small smile*
I don't mind
I like listening to you talk
its kind of cute
*teases lightly and wiggles back against my chair*
I've always thought preschool aged kids were so cute
You should let me get your kids some bagels and hot chocolate some day or even donuts
oh or cupcakes
or brownies-
anything really and let me play with them~
The only person or thing I ever really get to play with is my cat, Sebastian-
*hides my face at myself*
oh my god
I sound like a cat lady dont I
@Jo Sojin All day?
Oh my..
What do you do?
*laughs softly at the crumb and smiles as you it away, looking to the side to watch the rain,
humming loghtly as my eyes watch two drops that seem to race down the window*
We work really hard to make rhe best bagels~
I'm glad you like them
*perks up when you ask me a question and laughs at your statement about bosses*
Yeah..she's a real harass sometimes
I get the afternoons on weekends off
I kind of like working late
But that's what owners do
*hopes you'll understand that I own the place and looks over every inch of the small cafe, looking down and adjusts my small pink and white skirt, buttoning the top of my blouse*
Your boss doesn't sound too nice..
We can give him or her a floor bagel if you want
*teases and looks back to you, giving a slightly shy smile*
@Jo Sojin You plan to rob me
*whines playfully as I hand you the towel and bagel*
i can get that for you
*nods and skips back to the back, yelling over the machine*
why are you out so late anyway?
its raining and all icky outside-
won't you catch a cold or something?
*carries the cup to you carefully, my tongue sticking out slightly as I set it down without spilling any*
if i have to mop again- i may or may not quit my job
*teases a little and looks around for a moment, pulling down the other chair and plops down in it with a small smile*
@Jo Sojin *hums softly to myself as the music over head plays. My back to the door as I wipe down the tables, giving a small grin to myself for having a pretty successful day*
all do-
*jumps and quickly turns around when I hear the door trying to be opened*
Oh my god-
*pouts a little before I give a small laugh to myself, looking to see a woman standing in the rain. I quickly run to the door and open it softly*
I- we're clos-
*hears your stomach growling and gives a small smile, holding the door open for you*
I guess you can come in
*a hint of teasing rings lightly as I speak. I make sure the door is closed before pulling one of the chairs down and nod for you to sit*
we have some bagels in the back- they're not to old I promise
do you want anything else-
well besides a towel
*offers a kind smile and looks to you for a moment before grabbing the items I've already decided to grab for you*
I'm assuming you're here for food
and not to kill me, right?
