@Kim Jongdae Sunyoung followed his orders and gave them a tug. Her smirk from earlier faltered a tiny bit; the handcuffs were cold and heavy like real ones, and a tiny sliver of panic made its way onto her. Clearing to cover her tracks, her smile return and she chuckled, though it was a bit forced this time around. Afterwards, it was almost like she could see Jongdae thinking - the way he swallowed, the tiny bead of sweat at the corner of his forehead...she tried her hardest not to imagine the worst.
Of course, it didn't take long for her lungs to stop functioning for a few seconds when she realized the real reason behind the abrupt ending. Gaping slightly, she thought quick and turned to the crowd, giving them an exasperated look. "..Aigoo, men these days! So daring! Come back next week for more tips, I mean, tricks!" Laughing /too/ loudly at her own lame joke as a cover up, Sunyoung waited until mostly everyone left to turn to him and pinch his arm hard. "yah yah, what the hell do you mean?? You have the key to this somewhere, look for it!" She urged him in an panicked whisper, looking at any place he could possible have keys
@Park Sunyoung Her discomfort had not gone unmissed, but Jongdae was pleasantly surprised when Sunyoung played along. Even he had to chuckle along with the crowd. He hadn’t been expecting the remark since most of his volunteers usually stayed quiet, mostly shy or confused. “Don’t you worry! I am a professional.” Jongdae gave her a toothy grin as he snapped the cuffs across her wrists with a click. “Go on, give them a good tug. You’ll find that they’re very sturdy and one hundred percent real!” Jongdae turned to the crowd and began his usual banter. But the longer he spoke, the less certain he felt. How did this work again? Perhaps he should have spent more time practicing this routine with an actual person. It was quite different from performing the trick on himself. Jongdae swallowed. This was not good.
“Ah. . . er. . . aaaand that’s how you get a girl to try new things in the bedroom!” He exclaimed abruptly, taking a gracious bow. While the crowd laughed, Jongdae was panicking internally. “Thank you for seeing today’s show! I’ll be back next week. Have a great evening, you crazy kids!” A few people groaned at the anticlimactic finale, but most of them left without any protests. Once the crowd had thinned, Jongdae whipped around to face Sunyoung. “I’m sorry! I had to say that or else they wouldn’t leave!” He ran a hand through his hair in frustration. Reluctantly, he confessed. “I. . . might’ve forgotten how the trick went.
@Kim Jongdae The second the silver handcuffs were out, the girl's eyebrows furrowed - slightly confused. She wanted to reach out and touch them, to maybe feel what it was that made them different or to subtle find the trick just in the machinery - but she didn't even get a chance to. The wolf calls and yells reached her ears and she nearly choked on her own breath, cheeks tinging pink for a second as she recognized what handcuffs could /also/ mean. His whispered words though did put her at ease a bit - these were all people she didn't know, people who wouldn't remember her, and it was all fun and games anyway. "That's alright, I'm more of a blindfold kind of girl anyway" She retaliated back to the crowd with a smirk of her own. The tension and surprise slowly eased into a comfortable, playful atmosphere - the soft smirk never left her lips. "My name is Sunyoung..I'm fully trusting you have the keys to these, Mr. Kim." Her voice remained just as playful as earlier, eyes watching him, holding both her wrists up so he could continue on to wow the crowd.
@Park Sunyoung Her surprise made him chuckle in amusement. It had been a simple gesture, but the girl reacted as if she was just selected as the next candidate for space travel. Despite her nervousness however, she complied with his request and for that, Jongdae was glad. “Oh no, of course not! I’m going to try something new today!” He procured a set of silver handcuffs from his pocket with a smile that was much too bright for someone carrying them. “I hope you’re ready!” The crowd cheered along as Jongdae held the cuffs into the air. A few people wiggled their brows and wolf-whistled, drawing a short laugh from the young magician. “It’s not like that, folks. I’m more of whip guy.” A light chorus of laughter followed, but Jongdae felt it was necessary to lean in slightly and whisper in the girl’s ear, “I’m only kidding, it’s a joke.” Clearing his throat, he turned to address the crowd. “Now, I’ll put these on our lovely volunteer—what’s your name, miss?”
@Kim Jongdae Sunyoung blinked at the hand that suddenly appeared in front of her vision, the male's bright smile directed at her - causing her to slightly freak out. "M-Me? Bwoh??"She looked around, not able to believe she was picked. Clearing , Sunyoung took quiet steps towards the stage, squinting at the hot, bright lights blinding her for a second. "Will I be picking a card like that boy?" Her question held a shy tone to it, but the excitement began showing in her eyes again once it clicked in her mind that she was going to be actively engaged in a magic trick for once.
@Park Sunyoung Jongdae didn’t consider himself an attention-seeker, but there was something about the spotlight that was addictive. Being on stage, no matter the size, was invigorating. The laughs and cheers of the audience never failed to energize him. Ever since he was able to impress his kindergarten classmates with a simple coin trick, Jongdae was hooked. Now he stood before a taller, harder to impress crowd, but the delight in their eyes and the smiles on their faces were the same.
“Is this your card?” With a flick of his wrist, he revealed the nine of hearts. The boy standing in front of him chuckled and shook his head, but Jongdae appeared unfazed. “That’s odd. Did you take it by mistake? ”
His classmate laughed again as he emptied the pockets of his jeans. And just as Jongdae had suggested, there was playing card stuck to his wallet. “No way! This is it! What the f—“
“—five of diamonds! Yes, it is indeed a five of diamonds!” Jongdae interrupted with a bright grin, retrieving the card from the other male’s fingers. “Now for my next trick, I’ll need another volunteer!”
The magician clasped his hands together eagerly as he scoped out the crowd. A few people left as a result (what was this, being called on by the teacher in class?), but the enthusiasm remained on his face. Then his eyes locked onto the newcomer, a shorter girl with a sunny smile that clashed with her pitch black hair. She seemed to be quite interested in all of his magic props, so it was a no-brainer.
“Hello, miss!” He beamed, extending a hand in her direction. “Care to join me on stage? I just need a few minutes of your time!”

@Kim Jongdae The day, like any other that Sunyoung could remember, had been as stressful as can be. The girl had been told multiple times by others that she took things way too seriously, that she trained almost as if she was going to go to the Olympics, to a succeed-or-die battle. The girl couldn't help it much that was was what was /expected/ of her by those closest to her, but there was a moment when enough was enough. When Sunyoung gave it her best shot, she got reprimanded. When she gave only half the effort, she got reprimanded. What was the point then? Taking a rare opportunity to /not/ stay far later than her classmates at the studio, the performer made her way to the local bar to attempt meeting someone new. The situation itself was enough to make the girl sweat from not being used to openly searching for friendships - but there had to be a first for everything.
From the moment she walked in, Sunyoung could hear a great amount of people cheering and clapping in a far corner. Lights were centered around a stage, or more so a handsome performer. He was pulling things out from strange places, asking several people in the audience for participation. It made the girl chuckle, and it captured her attention enough to make her subconsciously walk over to enjoy the magic show as well. It wasn't until the end of it that she heard him introduce himself again - Kim Jongdae - and mentioned he was looking for a volunteer. It was at the moment that Sunyoung would have normally clapped and just stepped away along with the rest of the crowd..but her feet stayed glued to the ground for some unknown reason, eyes fixed on all of his gear as she silently contemplated the idea
