@kim yerim Jimin lets her speak, in silence of course, he makes sure that he doesn't say a word as he listens to her excuses and then listens to her conversation with her brother and then merely offers a small sigh and a warm smile at the way she seems to speak with a blank tone, as if he's still a teacher and not a friend at this moment. "Personally, I don't really care if you come back to class or not." Jimin's words are warm and it's true, he doesn't really have to do this. But he reaches forward to take the other's hands anyways, murmuring softly "But you are one of my students, and I try to make it my business to know if my students are tired or upset and to help them solve the issue. You know you can speak to me about anything, correct Yerim? You can even cry on my shoulder--if you want."

He wasn't supposed to deal with emotional baggage and yet he felt himself sympathetic towards Yerim, who clearly had quite a bit on her mind at the moment. If he could help, he would help, it was just his human nature to want to help people. And she, such a bright and brilliant student, was someone Jimin would definitely spend some of his time helping. "Do you need to talk or--maybe we could just go get some ice cream so you can cry until you feel better? What do you need kid?"

@kim yerim As a professor Jimin made it his duty to keep personal life and school life away from each other. In the sense that he didn't do relationships with his students--usually--and he wasn't there as someone who carried emotional baggage for the students. He definitely wasn't paid for emotional baggage. And yet, when one of his best students stopped showing up in his classes, Jimin couldn't help but worry. He wasn't supposed to worry, their grades weren't as much of his problem as perhaps it would have been in high school, but he worried for her because well, frankly Yeri was brilliant and always a joy to have in class. When she didn't show up--that was when Jimin couldn't help but get worried for her, because having someone like her fail his class, that would be worrisome.

He finds her in the library, resting against the window, focusing on a book and Jimin finds himself taken aback by the fact that she didn't come to class and yet she was busy studying at the same time. Wouldn't it had been much easier just to have gone to class? That was besides the point. Yerim seemed okay, she didn't seem too tired or exhausted, and Jimin found himself boggled for why a student who had been so brilliant would have suddenly decided just to have missed class. "Yerim." he found himself speaking without him even knowing and he vaguely wonders if Yeri had even known he was there. "You missed class today." there's a sort of cold sternness in Jimin's voice that he doesn't bother holding back, he needs her to know the seriousness of the situation. "Your grades are slipping. Is something the matter?"
