@Cotton Candi Thaddeus finds himself gazing at his hands while thinking about her statement. "How much have you changed, Eleanor?" The young doctor found her request peculiar. When they were in college, Eleanor would insist for Teddy to use his powers freely so that all emotions were real since she has the ability to manipulate emotions. He looked at her, noticing the tear on her face. "But if it will ease you of your worries them I will keep then on for now."

Something was bothering Thaddeus and he was itching to bring it up in their conversation but everything that was happening has overwhelmed not only the doctor but also his wife. He took off the stethoscope, checked the pulse oximeter, and reached for the file before writing down all results.

He sat down on the bed, just beside his wife. "Everything seems fine, but there is a slight irregularity with your heart rate." He said, giving one of his rare smiles. "But you'll be fine. I'll make sure of that." Thaddeus took her hand, giving it a tight affectionate grip before standing up to fix all paperwork. One particular thought was haunting him too much, it showed on his face.

"Eleanor, what do you remember actually?" He asked in a sincere tone. And, while looking straight to her eyes, he finally said it. "And where's our daughter?"

[Hey, don't apologise. It's alright.]

@Thaddeus Goldcrest Elly had noticed that his hand was, in fact shaking, and it started to hurt her eyes. But it hurt her heart more to know that she had caused this much ache.

She tilts her head, nodding. She had always pretended to understand what he was talking about. She was no doctor. "I think I'd remember something like that, yeah? But if you insist. Thank you, Darling." She didn't understand at all what was going on. She couldn't understand herself, let alone her husband. It was upsetting her, and she was trying her hardest not to show it.

She nodded. "Alright." It was all she could say without giving her emotions away.

Elly braced herself for the cold instrument to touch her, but it never did. She heard the voice of her love. Not the cold doctor trying to ignore her presence. "I wouldn't know if you had forgotten me, Thaddeus. I'm sorry for coming out of the blue like this, but I really don't know how I got here." A tear streaked her cheek. "I've missed you more than you could ever miss me."

The cold stethoscope shocked her. "It has been quite a while." She said. "People change, my love. It's human nature. And what is that?

She turned to look him in the eyes. "I'm not sure, Darling. Only if you promise to wear gloves at all times. You know how your gift..." She looked at his hands. "Worries me."

{} Thank you~ I had no inspiration yesterday, I'm sorry.

@Cotton Candi .

"Your nose looks exactly like my husband's..." The other said. Light tremors were visibly seen on his hand especially with a very shaky light shining over her eyes. Thaddeus immediately switched it off, silently consuming her remark about how he has the same nose, as well as the fact that she cannot recall why she came in the hospital.

"Your pupils are dilating well. This is strange. Any loss of memory could mean that you blacked out, perhaps from head trauma or something else. I suggest that you should stay here overnight. Later, I will send a nurse to keep an eye on you." Thaddeus swallowed painfully, unable to jump to a hanging thought that the woman in front of him may be his wife. He noticed her expression change. For a moment, Thaddeus felt guilty, but he hasn't recollected his thoughts and structured them properly in a way for a man to think clearly.

He took out his stethoscope and a portable finger pulse oximeter. Afterwards, he carefully reached out to take her hand, attaching the small device by clipping it on her index finger. "This will measure your oxygen saturation and your pulse. Keep it there for a moment while I listen to your breathing."

He walked around her and faced her back. Thaddeus was about to place the stethoscope on her back; instead, he gave a long sigh. "Do you believe that after you've disappeared, all those years, I have become a changed man? I don't know what to think right now, Elly. I'm overwhelmed. Your presence is overwhelming. I can't say if it is bad or good. But I do miss you terribly."

"Probably because you've been gone for too long." He attached the earpiece of the stethoscope and murmured. "I believe that you are my wife but something about you changed as well. Which brings to me to one important question."

"Do you think things can go back to normal with us?"

[Don't say that. It's not bad. And take your time replying.]

@Thaddeus Goldcrest At looking at her husband she teared a bit. She felt confusion, and excitement. The way he looked at her was as if she were a ghost. Where did she go? She twiddled her thumbs and nibbled on her bottom lip. A nervous habit that she had.

She looked up as he called her name. "Is that so? You remind me of someone I miss dearly." She smiled at him gently, tilting her head to the slightest degree possible. "I see. That's alright with me. But no pain is a relief." She laughs lightly.

She nodded, hanging on to the shuddering doctor's words. "Your nose looks exactly like my husband's..." She trails off. And does as she was told. She felt vulnerable.

His touch felt so comforting and familiar, but also so impersonal. She saw how uncomfortable he was with her, and dropped her giddy expression into a hurt one. Didn't he recognize her? Or was he trying not to? Did he move on? "I can't remember why I came here, actually..." She looks around the room, keeping her head stationary.

{} Sorry if this is bad...I just got home...

@Cotton Candi Upon hearing the voice of his patient, Thaddeus immediately faced her. His face held an obvious expression of surprise and confusion. It remained there for a while before a trace of joy followed. He blinked several times, refusing to believe that his missing wife was in front of him. In fact, Thaddeus hastily opened the folder that contained the patient's file: it contained the information of another person.

The file displayed the information of a 23-year old man who accidentally swallowed a generous amount of Corsodyl mouthwash. The good doctor hid the patient's file away and took out a blank one. He filled it with his wife's name and information. While doing so, Thaddeus couldn't keep his hand from shaking. He stole a glance, almost in tears and barely keeping a straight face.

"Eleanor?" He carefully asked, cocking his head forward to give him a better view of the familiar woman in front of him. It was too good to be true. "I'm sorry. I...well, you reminded me of someone whom I haven't seen for a long time." Thaddeus came closer, avoiding her eyes.

He attempted to wash away the illusion--believing that it was just a coincidence that another woman looked like his wife--by focusing on the main reason he was in this room in the first place. "It seems that the nurse gave me the wrong file. This one? I have to fill it up with your information. So, I need to take your vitals first; nothing painful. I promise."

He wore a pair of gloves and grabbed a slender penlight. "I want you to look at my nose. Don't directly look at the light, alright? I need to check if your pupils are constricting."

Carefully, he went closer, lightly positioning her head by touching her chin with his gloved hands. His face showed discomfort at how she looked exactly like his wife. He attempted to start a conversation as he shone the light over her eyes, "What brought you here in the first place, precious? Does something hurt?"

[I was surprised. But that is good! Please do not seek for my approval. I enjoyed your reply.]

@Thaddeus Goldcrest Cattleya was sitting on the bed waiting for her notorious Doctor to arrive. She had sat there waiting, not very long actually. She knew that he was looking for his daughter and his wife, and wanted to play some mind games. It was one of her favorite pastimes, and he life hadn't been as exciting lately. She had quickly replaced the file with a random one from another patient.

When she heard the doorknob turn, she took a deep breath and shifted into his wife. She then gained all of her thoughts, feelings and emotions a millisecond after, then feeling the urge to bolt out of the room.

She turns to him and smiles weakly, she then finally gets his wife's mannerisms and way of speaking as well.

"Hello, Darling."

{} I hope this is okay, if it's not I can redo it.

@Cotton Candi After being placed in the graveyard shift since late February, Thaddeus Goldcrest found his job more feasible since he can continue his mission of searching for his wife in broad daylight. In fact, the graveyard shift provided him the strangest cases he has ever encountered: from fork-stabbing incidents to swallowed magnets.

Upon arrival, an assisting nurse handed out the file of his latest patient. Doctor Goldcrest immediately discarded his coat and luggage before putting on his usual attire and finishing all necessary procedures such as logging in, and signing paperwork. Afterwards he proceeded to his patient's private room. On his way, he scanned the file, preparing to discard his usual brooding expression and replacing it with the friendly smile that everyone expects from a doctor.

Teddy began knocking before immediately opening the door. In his friendliest and most fatherly British tone, he said, "Hello there. I'm Doctor Goldcrest and you must be--" He paused as he closes the door.

[Since I don't know the disguise or the pseudonym that your character is using. I left my starter with an open ending.]
