@shin hoseok Hyungwon had sat through hours of orientation, kitchen safety talks and a very thorough reminder of camp rules and regulations, and to say he was relieved to slink away to the kitchens and gather this thoughts was an understatement. Nevertheless he was excited, albeit a little exhausted from the long trip to the camp and endless speeches, about his new job. It's nothing permanent, just something to do for the summer until Hyungwon can get his thoughts in order and move on to a job that would make his uni degree proud.
Being so far out at this camp site was a breath of fresh air, no teachers breathing down his neck about assignment deadlines and keeping his GPA up. He felt kind of free and it excited him.
Hyungwon pushed open the door to the mess hall and peered around at the large room filled with tables. It was clean, a lot cleaner than he had expected. He made his way through and over to the kitchens. There was a door separating the two and the lights in the kitchen were off.
Hyungwon would be starting his position as a member of the kitchen staff tomorrow morning for the breakfast rush as he had missed joining in for dinner due to introductions and safety presentations. He had been told he could find his meal set aside in the kitchen and just reheat it.
Hyungwon felt around the wall for the light switch.
"Huh..." He muttered to himself when he felt nothing. Hyungwon wasn't afraid of the dark, he just....wasn't fond of it.
'Okay, no big deal stop being a wimp just get in there', he scolded himself. The dim light from the mess hall cast an eerie glow through the open door of the kitchen.
Hyungwon grit his teeth and flung the door open, slapping his hand on the wall and intensely searching for the light switch, which he found after flailing for a few moments.
Hyungwon began digging around in the cupboard for a pan to heat up his dinner before pausing. No, he could just stick it in the microwave and be done.
He sighed and set the pan on the kitchen counter and reached for his plate, tearing off the Saran Wrap and popping it in the microwave to heat up. He set the timer for a few minutes and leant against the counter, waiting for the microwave to beep.
@jung hoseok When the door to the mess hall slams open Wonho jumps and, dare he say it, almost squeals. He whips around to face the newcomer with a handful of animal crackers in his mouth. Bringing his hand to his mouth as he chews, he narrows his eyes and tries to see if he can remember the other. Wonho finds that he can't place a name to a face and would rather just run than let himself get caught any further. It seemed the other had plans though, plopping next to Wonho on the bench as he finished his handful of animal crackers. "Augh, fine." he grumbled, shifting closer to the window to give the other more room. Though he didn't want to share, it was better than being told off. "Surviving." Wonho shoved some more crackers into his mouth and glanced over at the other. "You?"
@shin hoseok Campers in bed, check. Counselors ing around the campfire, check. He'll end up with the other counselors, drinking and screaming in the woods in a few dozen minutes too, but first, he's got to check the mess hall. One of the campers mentioned some rustling around the area. Wielding nothing more than a rock in case of a break in, Hoseok creeps into the mess hall, oh so silently. In other words, he slammed the door open and literally screeched at the person he saw. Shin Hoseok, if he remembers correctly. It takes him a minute to place his eye on the situation and once he realizes that the man is eating animal crackers, Hoseok darts towards the staff member at full speed. And then he plops down at the table and grabs a handful of crackers for himself. "Move over, lemme have some too." Yes, this is the new management. "So, what're you up to?"
@jung hoseok It's not like Wonho "broke in" per say. The windows near the lake were left open, as if whoever was there last had forgotten to close them. Getting in was the easy part. Finding where they kept things ready to eat was a bit harder. Sure enough, through careful examination - really opening every cupboard and door - Wonho found something to eat in the far back of the kitchens. "Jackpot." He grinned to himself in the dimly lit area, carrying the food with him to one of the tables near a window. Though there was the danger of someone spotting him where he wasn't supposed to be he relaxed like it was his own home. Tearing open a box of animal crackers he ate away happily, pushing the window open even more to feel the breeze coming off the lake.
