@Jiho "I guess I did, huh?" Myungsoo remarked. He was so used to speaking like that that he didn't realise it. Work must have really gotten to him. When Jiho whispered something to him, he had to listen very hard to know what she was saying.
"Yes. But only temporarily," he reminded her. Now that he thought about it, it was kind of like "paying it forward". When he had been at his worst, his adopted family made things better for him. Now it was his turn to help someone else.
@Jiho Myungsoo's guess was somewhat proven true when he saw Jiho glancing to the side nervously. But he decided to not further prompt her about it. He didn't want to make the other uncomfortable. Besides, if the other didn't want to tell him, he would respect her wishes.
"Yes, my responsibility. The financial aid is only temporarily. Of course I won't make you become too dependent on me. That would do you more harm than good," he replied calmly. "And I'm not sure why but I trust you and I'm sure of you." He then paused for a moment before continuing,"I'm sorry if I sounded threatening or rude just now when I said I hate being lied to."
@Jiho Myungsoo frowned at Jiho, not really convinced by all that she said. He didn't know what but something about the way she spoke to him that told him that she wasn't telling the truth. Besides, ever since he become the President of Apollo, he had learnt to detect lies. After all, he had to know who were sincerely loyal to him or who were spies.
"Are you really sure?" he asked, raising an eyebrow before adding in a serious tone, "One thing you should about me is that I hate being lied to. And secondly, if you're in need of financial aid, I can provide it for you temporarily. It is my responsibility, after all."
@Jiho Myungsoo nodded at the other's agreement, his eyes still fixed on the screen as he continued to process the information in front of him. He heaved a sigh of relief hearing that the other was doing alright.
"That's nice to hear," he said. He cocked his head when Jiho mumbled something.
"Did you say something?" he asked before looking at her, his dark eyes filled with concern.
"So you only get by?" he further questioned slowly, feeling guilty all of a sudden. If he hadn't ask her to do that special assignment, perhaps she wouldn't be in this state by now.
@Jiho "Dave #2... And you have two laptops, or rather had two laptops..." Myungsoo said slowly. He smiled slightly when the other said she liked the laptop like a child. His eyes scanned through the information as it flashed before him, taking all these in.
"Well done. And you're right about the powerpoint slides..." he agreed. He didn't mean to judge the other organisation -- the powerpoint slides were just horrible. At the same time, it was rather amusing as well. Artemis, the supposedly intimidating and formidable organisation, had this somewhat silly flaw. A thought then suddenly occurred to him.
"So... how have you been since being "fired"?" he asked without looking at Jiho. It was a little embarrassing asking this but it was his job to ensure the well-being of his employees after all. Even if that employee wasn't technically after him now.
@Jiho "I see. You've done well though so that's alright. As for whether it's enough, I would judge it for myself," Myungsoo replied understandingly. Jiho was still working on the information retrieval dedicatedly despite the risks so he was grateful for that and didn't want to press her on any further.
"So your laptop has a name, huh? And it's pretty old as well," he remarked when the other told him about her laptop. He then went over to her, looking at the laptop screen.
"May I see what you've gotten so far?" he asked.
@Jiho "I have a habit of keeping track of time at times so yes," Myungsoo calmly replied. At the other's invitation, he stepped into the apartment and was now able to have a proper look at the interior. It sort of reminded him of his old home and brought back fond memories of his past... and also the horrible ones. Shaking those memories out of his head, he watched as the female cleared the things on the couch and later offered him to sit down.
"Thank you," he thanked her, sitting down. He then nodded his head.
"That's correct. So have pieced together all the missing information?" he asked. When the other if anyone's following him, he shook his head.
"I don't think so. I made sure that there wasn't any suspicious-looking figure following me when I left the workplace. So rest assured that there's no one spying on us. Even if there was, I will make sure you're safe," he answered in a serious tone.
@Jiho "4 minutes and 30 seconds, 4 minute and 31 seconds, 4 minute and 32 seconds..." Myungsoo muttered to himself as he continued to patiently wait for Jiho to come out, glancing at his watch as he did so. At the 5 minute mark (and just when his patience was about to run out), Jiho finally opened the door again.
"Hello, Miss Jiho. Sorry for not notifying you earlier about my visit. It kind of slipped out of my mind. And not really. I've been waiting for 5 minutes to be exact," the young male calmly replied before waving a hand away, saying, "No worries. No offense taken." He then peeked into the interior of the house a little. It was messy, as Jiho had mentioned that time. But he didn't mind. He paused for a moment and then asked, "May I come in now?"
@Jiho When Jiho opened the door, Myungsoo was actually pretty happy to see her. But of course he didn't show it.
"Hello, Miss Ji -- " he began but before he could finish Jiho had already slammed the door in front of his face. He looked at the closed door, shocked and amused. That was certainly not a reaction he was expecting after hours of driving just to see her.
"That girl never ceases to surprise me," he thought. Then there was a moment of silence. It took a moment until he heard the other speaking again.
"Sure. Take your time," he replied, nodding even though Jiho couldn't see him. He wasn't even sure if she could hear him for he heard footsteps which were gradually getting softer and softer. He guessed that Jiho was changing her clothes at that moment. He tapped his right foot as he patiently waited for Jiho to be done changing and come open the door again.
@Jiho Myungsoo looked out at the road in front of him as he drove to Jiho's house. He had just finished all the paperwork he needed to do for the day (which bored the hell out of the President but it had to be done anyway) and decided to pay Jiho a visit. It had been weeks since he last saw the young female after all.
"I wonder how she's doing," he mused. Probably still doing her task of getting information regarding Artemis for him. Seeing a red light, he stopped and tapped his fingers against the steering wheel as he waited for it to turn green.
It took a while but the light finally turned green. The young male resumed driving but had to stop soon after because the car in front of him stopped. He sighed in frustration. He just had to leave his work place during peak hours when the traffic was slow. It's going to be a long drive...
Finally, after hours of driving, he arrived at Jiho's place. Myungsoo heaved a sigh of relief and went on to park his car. He then stepped out of his car, making sure to lock his car and walked towards the door. Calmly, he knocked on the door.
