@yoon jeonghan ᵇᵉᵃˢᵗ "Fair enough, fair enough. There's also a decent amount of people in this world who would simply leave if the other party wasn't present at the appropriate time, you know. It's all dependent on one's level of patience." Mary remarked, lips parted in a smirk. "Oh I would never, darling." She raised a hand to shroud , voice becoming rather dramatic to add to her teasing. "I'm just thankful you have enough patience to wait for me." She then quirked a brow, tilting her head side to side as she contemplated agreeing with the male. "Yes, perhaps it can be. It comes with the territory, I suppose." Her hand moves from to push a few stray stands of hair from her forehead, the lightly dyed locks already darkening due to the rain. Dark eyes met those of the male seconds later as she wrinkled her nose at his bumping, doing the same in return only harder. Stupid height difference. In any other situation, she would've chosen a set of platform boots to help her height problem.
"I think we should go over the lessons from last time to check my progress. After that, you're free to teach me whatever you like." She cleared , playful tone now replaced with the one she used while working down in hell. Swiftly turning on her heel, she made her way over to Jeonghan's new location, keeping a few feet between them since she knew they would need the space in a few minutes. "Is there a certain move you'd like me to start with? I believe my kicks have improved but I believe the timing on my dodging could use some work. Anything else is probably right where we left them." She continued to speak, carefully stretching her arms and bending her legs in hopes that she was still as limber as she remembered. Hand-to-hand combat wasn't something she used very often and stretching had since been lowered on her list of daily priorities as a result. Though if she were to be honest, sparring with Jeonghan /always/ required a fair amount of stretching. If she didn't, there'd be hell to pay with her body, and not in a good way.
@mary shay ᵇᵉᵃˢᵗ His focus sharpened on the form of the female when she made her presence known, brows knitting together for an ephemeral couple of seconds before his countenance smoothed over into reluctant welcome. Her cooing had reminded him of /another/ demoness that he did not feel nearly as warm towards, but he found it much more appreciable when it came from Mary. Shaking his head with a sigh, a small smile teasing at the corners of his mouth as he pushed off of the railing and stepped toward her, he canted his head ever so slightly to the left. "Is that not what one does when the other person is not there to immediately start their chosen activity?" He teased, "Do not think that you're special or anything." His wink softened the declaration.
He let his eyes rove over her multicoloured ensemble as she made her apology. "It's fine. I suppose taking long to get ready can be found in all females, regardless of species." His smile developed a decidedly more rakish edge and became a smirk, fingers slicking his damp hair away from his forehead. The downpour became a little more insistent, and Jeonghan took that as his signal to bump his shoulder against hers, utilising the advantage of his height to gaze imperiously down his nose at her.
"What are the rules of today's practice session? Is there anything in particular you wish to try?" His words burgeoned with the brusqueness of a more businesslike inflection, and he took a couple more strides past her so he was positioned more at the centre of the lot. He looked forward to seeing how much the girl had progressed. It had been a long time since their last engagement, and thus too long a period for him to have not exercised his limbs. Being a prince could get awfully boring, especially for someone as picky and capricious as Jeonghan. He expected much from the girl; she was often entertaining and a passable challenge.
@yoon jeonghan ᵇᵉᵃˢᵗ Mary gently bobbed her head in time with the electric guitar blaring out of her speakers, a pleased smile resting on her rosy pink lips. Despite coming into existence several centuries ago, she'd developed an unexplained love for 1980's rock music. It had no resemblance to the music of her homeland whatsoever, but that fact didn't really bother her. She was Mary Shay the Knight of Hell now, not Mary Shay the daughter of a blacksmith and a baker.
Lithe fingers soon carded through champagne pink locks, moving them away from the young demon's face as she fastened them back with a black hairband. If there was anything she despised more than disobedience, it was her hair in her eyes while she fought. After taking one last look at her current ensemble, said ensemble being a black camisole, multi-colored gym shorts, and black tennis shoes, she swiftly turned off her music and made her way out of her hotel room.
It was funny, she thought. Never in her time as a demon did she think there was someone in Hell quite like her. Jeonghan certainly was a different breed, that was for sure. Obedient towards the rules, determined, handsome, goodness. She stumbled over a stair in her thought-filled haste, hands grasping for the nearest handrail. After taking in a quick breath to regain her composure, she finished her journey down, sending a kind wave to the employees as though she were only leaving to go for a quick jog.
Upon reaching the outside, she took in a long, deep breath. Nature. Although it was more of a concrete jungle at this point, she still enjoyed the outdoors when she had the opportunity to experience it. Once she felt ready, she made her way over to the parking lot, umber eyes quickly finding the man she was looking for. "Awwww, how cute. Were you waiting for little ol' me, Jeonghan?" She teased with a cheeky grin, hands resting on her hips as she closed up a bit of the distance between them. "Apologies for the long wait though. I didn't think it would take so long for me to get here."
@mary shay ᵇᵉᵃˢᵗ Jeonghan pulled a shirt over his head, obscuring his lithe but wiry frame with the customary black cloth. His fingers touched the pane of his hotel room's window, contemplating the temperamental weather outside. He found it suitable for his chosen agenda for that night; this observation made, he snapped the blinds shut and turned away. Though he could resolutely ignore what humans might think should they see him embroiled in a violent sparring session with a fellow demon, it would still cause unnecessary complications for his current 'mistress'. He huffed out an amused breath at the thought of her displeasure, but quickly discarded it in favour of thoughts of his impending companion.
Mary was relatively young in comparison to himself, but she was not subject to his disdain like many of the newer demons. She was decorous and hell-bent on achieving her goal, both qualities that reminded him of himself. And, of course, for someone as arrogant as Jeonghan, anything similar to his personage deserved to be given the time of day. He slipped out of his suite with a natural slink, balancing his weight on the balls of his feet. He nodded to a startled hotel maid in polite acknowledgement when he passed her by, the woman resting a hand over her chest from the fright his sudden appearance had given her.
The front of the hotel was unoccupied, everyone possibly being inside due to a combination of the late hour and the disagreeable weather. Sure enough, when he strayed off the marbled path and turned round to the parking lot in the back of the building, the rain began drizzling. The moisture caused his eyelashes to clump together, and he snorted with mild disfavour and crossed his arms, leaning against one of the railings as he awaited the demoness' appearance.
@lee jinki ᵇᵉᵃˢᵗ "I work every day except for weekends from nine to nine. However, my job is rather uneventful so if you absolutely need to drop in during those hours it wont be a serious problem unless I'm in a meeting or somethin'," Jinsook shrugged and went to the door. "I also don't know exactly where you'll be for a good amount of the time? So I went ahead and set up a room for you. It's simple but livable. I figured I should be somewhat compassionate."
Jinsook pushed the door open with her shoulder and stepped outside. "I'd like to stop at home first to change into clean clothes and wash this blood off. Then maybe we can go out and, I dunno, get dinner or something? That's a rather human social thing to do. My cousin owns a restaurant out here." She stepped to her car, one of the only ones in the parking lot, but abruptly stopped herself. Her cousin wouldn't remember her after tonight.
"I get a family discount.." She added, trying to not show the sudden heart wrenching thought, and then let a small smile past her lips and unlocked the car.
@lee jinsook Her sudden shock of confidence caused him to smirk as he tilted his head and leaned down to pick up the ring. Turning it over once before sliding it onto his pinky carefully. “Such a badass,” he whispered before laughing and taking her hand firmly, shaking it once with a cocked brow.
“Partners, and I promise I will do my best to be as casua and normal as possible. Meaning I won’t pop into your room at 1 am or anything creepy like that.” He said with a sigh before pulling his hand back and sliding his hands into his pockets.
Hell if they were to be bound then he’d at least be less irritating for the time being. Plus, any threat involving holy water caused him to shudder. “But I will see you at least once a day, give me your work hours so I can avoid them.” He ordered unable to turn off his cocky nature as he sized the woman up carefully and gestures for her to come with him.
“First thing I want to study is human on human interaction, so shall we go out into public?”
@lee jinki ᵇᵉᵃˢᵗ "I own myself. You're just a strong outside influence," Jinsook stated, squinting her eyes at him. "And I know as well as you that you're under strict guidelines now just like me. I'm simply stating that you're nothing but a depressing necessary decision to me." She kicked the ring with her foot back towards him and turned to fully face him. She stepped closer to him, almost seeming to size him up as she stood just a few feet away.
"I'll be your guinea pig, yes, but if you bring out your mad scientist I will shove a damn hose up your and pump you full of holy water like a water ballon. So, that being said," she reached her hand out, covered in crusty, drying blood, for a handshake.
"Friends? Or I suppose... demonically obliged partners?"
@lee jinsook The demon listened carefully to her explanation before shrugging as he didn’t very much agree but also did not care enough to argue. Most mother would prefer their child over a loved one who had passed but the woman had sealed her fate already and the order she gave almost made him laugh.
“Who are you to order me?” He barked as he stepped closer to the woman and tossed the ring at her feet. “My purpose has been served, in the morning the man shall return to his wife, it is not you who owns me but I who owns you. I own your heart and until it stops beating I will follow you and learn how it works.” He growled, eyes flickering faintly as his true self fought against the human form he often took.
“You are not to be the hostess but instead my guinea pig, I own you and if you break our contract I will rip the man from your mothers hands again and keep their memories as well.” He added before shrugging and taking a step back. “Or you can be a good girl, I will be a good boy and we will work together to ensure this situation works for us both.”
@lee jinki ᵇᵉᵃˢᵗ Jinsook looked down at the ground as he began to circle her, almost wincing at his patronization, but she refused to let anything show. Again. Demons were clever, she had heard, and she wasn't giving this one fuel.
"We had nothing," she spoke, stepping out of the path of his circle to her bag. She found a old rag and went to the carpet, bending and squatting her knees a tad, beginning to dust up the chalk with it. "Over time, I gained something. She didn't." She walked around the pentagram, managing to dust away most of the marks without putting any elbow grease into it. She didn't want the cleaning ladies to have to clean up what looked like a satanic sacrifice.
Once done she stood and dabbed at the blood on her clothes and hands with the rag. She went back and shoved it into her bag.
"This is the only thing I know to give her." Jinsook reached past the rag into her purse and after rummaging for a few moments pulled out a simple silver ring, tossing it to the demon almost carelessly.
"Your name is Jinki," she said, completely ignoring his last remark. She made sure everything was packed tight in her purse before slinging it over her shoulder and slipping her shoes on. "And you are here to serve a purpose. For me. I give myself to you in return, but I will only give you what I agreed on. I'm not going to play whatever game you're going to plan. And I want you out as soon as you can get out. I have a job and a life and can't be the hostess of an annoying demon for the rest of my life. Do I make myself clear?" She looked back at him sternly, smoothing down the folds in her skirt with one hand and pulling her car keys out with the other.
@lee jinsook The man waited patiently until she had signed the paper before snapping it closed and tucking it away once again. Eyes glued to her face as he circled her slowly, interested by her sacrifice. “Now, since you’ve agreed to let me study you, allow me to ask- why give up so much for a dead man?” He asked with a small laugh, “I’ve seen men raised to be with women but you are so... selfless it seems. You’ve given up who you are.”
Of course Jinki didn’t intend for his words to come across as patronizing as he was simply curious, all humans he had met seemed to drip with greed and yet the woman before him did not. She seemed solemn, broken and yet strong as though refusing to bend to even the strongest winds. It was impressive and odd at the same time. “It makes me question if you are truly human since they only seem to want and take, never to give.”
@lee jinki ᵇᵉᵃˢᵗ He took the picture and, just like that, the deal became real. She didn't know what she expected, hellfire to consume the room? The souls of the dammed to surround her and make her dizzy with insanity? No, he just blew on the picture and that seemed to be that. She didn't know whether this helped her dread or not.
His demand puzzled her. "That's.." Jinsook stopped herself from commenting. He may not react well to her statement, so she clamped shut and watched the paper unfold. She felt like Ariel in The Little Mermaid, about to give her voice up for legs, except this was not a Disney movie. Nothing about this was fantasy and, frankly, she was having a pretty hard time accepting and forgetting that.
".. Yes. We have an agreement." Jinsook touch the paper from him. She didn't realize how much her hands were shaking until she was holding the material. Her hands were already bloody, enough so to get a few prints on the paper just from touching it. A signature and everything would be sealed.
Jinsook moved one hand away from the paper and put her finger on the bloodied shirt lazily wrapped around her other hand, pushing down and gathering as much blood as she could from it. It leaked from the fabric and she waited until she had a decent amount on her skin before pulling away. He probably had a pen of some sort with him, but she figured that this was good enough. She wasn't going to ask a demon for a pen... She breathed in and quickly scribbled a crude signature on the paper with the tip of her nail. It wasn't attractive, but it would work.
@lee jinsook The woman’s response interested him as he sighed and took the photo back once again, gently this time. Closing his eyes and gently blowing on the image before handing it back as his eyes crinkled with his smile, “in the morning that woman’s as well as the rest of your family will forget you and her husband will return from work in good health.” He replied, curious as to what the other had to feel in order to give such a thing.
“What I want?” He asked, reaching into his back pocket and pulling out a small scroll that they would both sign in order to seal their agreement. “I demand that you allow me to study you and when you die I shall inherit your emotions, human emotions.” Jinki breathed as he watched her with a silver glint in his eyes. Desperate for any feeling that wasn’t simply a surface show. “Do we have an agreement?” He asked, unrolling the coiled parchment and holding it out to her, watching expectantly. One does not simply summon a demon to go back on their words nor did they change their mind. “Or I could take your soul of course as the general payment but that seems to be a heavier price when you’ve already paid such a toll.”
@lee jinki ᵇᵉᵃˢᵗ Of course she had to get an irritating demon she thought as he began to ramble. God. What a prick, waltzing in like he owned the place. She watched him slump on the bed and shook her head. She had to fight off shushing him as he began to whine. Whatever. This had to be done, no matter the price that she had to pay. She needed to get on with it before she changed her mind.
"I want this man to be resurrected and given back to my mom. In place of me. I want them to have a comfortable home and life as well." Jinsook paused, tasting her coming words on her tongue. She snatched the photo from his hand as he offered it and held it protectively. It took all of her strength to not look at the picture and even more to speak.
"Remove me from their memories. His, hers, my whole family's. Take any evidence that I was born out of their records and home. Let them forget me." Jinsook's voice faltered at the last sentence. When she was a teen, after she learned about the fate of her father, she wondered if life would have been different for her mom and him if she hadn't been conceived. He died driving home from the store. It plagued her, thinking that maybe if she wasn't in her mother's stomach yet that he wouldn't have gone to the store to get the food her pregnant mother had been violently craving.
Jinsook pulled away from her thoughts. "This is what i'm willing to pay. Now, what are you going to take from me?"
@lee jinsook The scent of blood was clear as day as was the sound of the rushing cars outside. The human world was so loud, so prominent in every aspect and in some ways he loved it while in others h despised it. Though at the woman’s words he couldn’t help but suddenly laugh, his eyes curling with his grin, “you’re summoning a demon and you’re concerned about staining your carpet? Honestly, you humans are idiotic creatures.” He drawled out as he tucked his fingers into the pockets of his pants. Watching with a smirk as the woman stepped onto the pentagram, obviously she hadn’t done her research due to the fact that interrupting the circle freed him to move about as he pleased.
Jinki cocker his head to the side as he smile toned down, walking over to the rather filthy bed and slumped down. “Any purpose that requires someone like me is shady, don’t you think? It’s wrong, dirty, you’re rewriting what your stupid little god wrote out for you.” He cooed in a sickly sweet voice, “oh, I want love, ah- but what if you aren’t meant to have love yet? I want to be famous! What if you do something amazing while being an ordinary person?” He listed as he shrugged before snatching the photo from th girl, turning it over and sighing. “I cannot resurrect him myself but I can assure you that he will be resurrected in full health, but for a price as always.” He teased before handing it back to the girl. “What are you willing to give up?”
@lee jinki ᵇᵉᵃˢᵗ The air seemed to open and in a breath. Then in a blink of an eye there was a man standing in the middle of the pentagram. Jinsook couldn't help but be surprised that her ritual had worked. Her eyebrows raised. She stood as he began to speak, keeping the emotion down in her chest and facing him with a forced stoic expression.
"My house is nice. I didn't want to stain the carpet," she responded blankly and stepped to the outer ring of the pentagram, her hands working to tie the now red shirt around her hand. It was an unfitting situation, a woman in business attire in a shady hotel with a demon. It would've been laughable if it weren't so creepy and desperate.
"I.." Jinsook paused to search for the words she needed. A flicker of emotion passed her eyes. "I'm not summoning you for.. shady purposes. I'm assuming you've been in those situations.." The idea of a demon being summoned for some ridiculous purpose ran through her mind quickly and she almost smiled. She caught herself and shook her head, taking a deep breath. False confidence surged through her. She held her head high, looking the man in the eyes as if trying to assert some sort of dominance.
"Can you bring back the dead?" Jinsook reached into the front pocket of her white button up shirt and took a folded up picture from it. It was stained with age and what seemed to be coffee. She did her best with one hand to unfold and smooth it out, wincing as she saw a few bloody fingerprints get on it. She stared at it. A man who looked like her, standing next to a short, smiling lady, stared back at her. They were in formal wear. He wore a suit and she wore a wedding dress. This was the only photo she had of her father.
She closed her eyes and forced the picture towards the demon. "I need you to bring him back. For her."
@lee jinsook Being summoned wasn’t something that Jinki necessarily liked, no, it felt rather suffocating as he was ripped from his current task and dragged through a rip in space to the place that some meager human had decided to call him. It was torturous and he’d rather just receive a notification and head there himself but he assumed that wouldn’t work well if he was on the opposite side of the world. The thought almost had the demon roll his eyes as he landed in the center of a curdely drawn pentagram, kneeling down and pressing his index finger against the carpet where the blood had been offered, scraping what he could of the precious liquid onto his finger before sighing and standing up.
His eyes scanned the room slowly, it was tiny and had a stench of stale air that seemed to weigh down on its inhabitants. Definitely not somewhere any self respecting person would lodge themselves, then again what self respecting person summoned a demon?
“Lee Jinsook,” he purred as he finally decided to look down at the woman who had called him there, head dropping to the side as he waited for her to acknowledge him. “You couldn’t spring for a better place to call me? I do spend most of my days in hell so a nice hotel would’ve been appreciated,” Jinki purred, sarcasm dripping off his tongue before he simply grinned.
“Anyway, doll, what do you require my services for? Certainly not beauty,” he said with a chuckle as he looked back down at his finger that had her blood on it, drying slowly and darkening against his pale skin. It was what she would sign the contract with, to ensure that she didn’t attempt to skip out or disappear. To think some humans believed they could escape a demon was laughable, but it made the days where he was able to hunt them all the more fun.
@lee jinki ᵇᵉᵃˢᵗ The hotel was close enough to a crossroads to work. Nobody in their right mind would do a satanic ritual out in the open, though. It was far enough away from her house to not cause suspicion, though who did she half to be suspicious of her? She was almost in the middle of nowhere and yet the paranoia of being seen fueled her to quickly step towards her given room. She stepped into the room and was hit with the stench of old blankets and breathed air. She definitely got what she paid for- an almost barren room with a small bed covered in hideous orange covers and scratchy cheap carpet she could almost feel through her heels. Jinsook fought back a grimace, reminded herself that she was here on a mission and not to be a hotel critic, and threw her purse down on the bed.
She pulled a package of cheap dollar store chalk from said bag, ripping it open and pulling out a thick white piece. She dropped the rest to the floor and, after making sure the curtains were closed and the door was locked, began to scratch a circular shape into the rugged carpet. The texture of the carpet was coarse enough to hold the chalk and soon enough a dark white pentagram stretched across the room.
Jinsook stood back and looked over the circle. She was no expert, but it looked good enough. She then went back to her purse and from it drew a rectangular object. She held it in front of her face as if debating what it was, before she clicked a button on the side and the blade popped out from a slot on the side. She kicked her heels off and stepped into the center of the pentagram. A deep breath, and then a hard wince as she sliced the center of her palm.
The blood splattered onto the carpet and stained it immediately a dark red. Jinsook let it drip for a while, watching the blood spread through the fibers of the carpeting, before going back to her purse and pulling an old tee shirt to wrap her hand in. She sat on the edge of the bed and watched the circle warily.
A strange sound fell from her lips in a shaky tone. She coughed, shook her head, and repeated it again with confidence. It was a calling, a name of some sort. The name of a demon she had read about.
The lights in the room flickered and went dim. He was coming.
(( its late so im sorry if this isnt the best starter!!! i tried ;;
