humans live in a very advanced setting - although they have decided to keep more of the royal aesthetic: castles, large lots of land, travelling by carriage. they can genetically modify, but haven't been able to crack at vampires, just yet, that is. they're the cause of the 'fairy tale' vampires ( those that feed off of human's ) near extinction ( near because one can't help being born ), and the rich pride themselves in how many vampire 'conquests' ( read: harem boys and girls ) they have.
