@taehyung k。ˢᶦʳᵉⁿ Ahh you are new! I thought so, I come here a lot and I rarely see new faces. People are such creatures of habit, and the tourists are so easy to spot.
/he chuckles softly, shaking his head in amusement as one such tourist walked by them with a camera hung around his neck/
Welcome then, I hope that you like it here.
If you want I'd be happy to show you some of my favorite places in the city. There's a lovely cafe not far from here, and a ramen restaurant that makes some of the best noodles I have ever had.
@minki c。ᵍᵃᶦᵃ /shakes my.head slightly, taking a seat gladly watching the flower before turning back to glance at you/
It's fine I'm just getting used to this place is all.
/nods a little/
Yes I'll agree to that, sometimes the outside world get to be too much and I just need to be by myself for a bit.
/tilts my head slightly giving you a smile/
Hm? Oh yes I'm new around here, but it's great to meet you, my name.is Taehyung.
@taehyung k。ˢᶦʳᵉⁿ I'm sorry, I hope I wasn't intruding. My name is Ren, it's nice to meet you.
/he bows politely in greeting, smiling softly as he straightens up/
Sometimes people can be a bit over whelming, I think. That's why I like to come here, surround myself with this little bit of nature and recharge.
I don't know if I've seen you around before, though with a city this size I suppose that's not surprising.
@minki c。ᵍᵃᶦᵃ /looking up from his flowers Taehyung watches the person who spoke/
Hmm? - oh yes they're quite beautiful.
/nods slowly as he gives the person a smile/
Yes..huh the contrast is big but I have to say I like.the city as well..for the people
@taehyung k。ˢᶦʳᵉⁿ They're beautiful, aren't they?
/he asks, a soft smile gracing his lips/
I love the gardens here, I try to visit as often as I can. It's a nice break from the constant noise of the city.
@hyunwoo l。ᵐᵒʳᵒˢ /for a brief moment an inhuman darkness flashes in his eyes and a cool smile curls his lips at your laughter/
I beg to differ actually. Fate is child's play, infantile, caught up in their own amusements. Fate has nothing to do with me, it never has.
/he nods at your next words, glancing at the time and weighing his options, whatever darkness had over taken him completely vanished/
How much time? Are we talking minutes, hours, days? I have a few other leads I can follow up on while I'm waiting.
@taemin l。ᵉʳᵉᵇᵘˢ /emits a low, rumbling chortle that swiftly grows into laughter, attempting to stifle his laughs by holding his fist to his smile, eyes gleaming in amusement.
fate is inescapable. no matter what you’ve tried, it doesn’t matter. i always find it charming to find the very few people who don’t think what it is. regardless—you’re very sweet for thinking otherwise.
/pauses briefly, cocking his head as he tries to remember.
now... you want the product information? to find the location of the phone will take a while as we have a lot of security built into the system.
@hyunwoo l。ᵐᵒʳᵒˢ Because I know damn good and well what kind of predators are out there, and these cases follow a pattern. He's probably already dead, and whether he went out willingly or not that doesn't mean he should be and murdered.
/he points out, shaking his head at your words, he wished they weren't so common. People were disturbingly desensitized to violence, unfortunately he knew that on a personal level/
There's a chance he's being trafficked, and if he is then I might be able to bring him home. If nothing else I'm going to find his body to give his family closure.
I've never believed in fate, I make my own rules.
@taemin l。ᵉʳᵉᵇᵘˢ /pauses briefly, looking over the phone number as you describe the situation at hand, brows perking in interest.
so... why then did you tell me it was a no less than fourty-eight hour case? moreover, shouldn’t he pay for going out on his own for such a date? i believe it’s the more natural way of things.
/expresses with his usual, serpent-like gaze, pupils unmoving from your eyes.
if it is his fate, then let him be.
@hyunwoo l。ᵐᵒʳᵒˢ Of course.
/nods, sighing in relief when he gets your cooperation, moving to sit down as he pulls up his notes on his phone/
Yes, Lee Taemin, I work with the NYPD when kids go missing. I'm a private detective.
/he explains, pulling out a pad of paper and a pen from his jacket to jot down the boy's phone number and slide it across the desk to you/
We have reason to believe he was using a dating app that his family confirmed he spent a lot of time on. If we can get access to his messages, or even find out where his phone went we might be able to get to him. No one has heard from him since yesterday evening, his parents reported him missing this morning. NYPD is trying to label him as a runaway but I don't believe that, and the family is insisting he's not the type.
@taemin l。ᵉʳᵉᵇᵘˢ oh—then that’s fine, that’s fine. could you provide more details?
/casually slips his hand into his pocket, fishing out his phone in order to properly take notes.
so, are you a detective?
@hyunwoo l。ᵐᵒʳᵒˢ Price? This is for investigative purposes, I've got a teenager missing and if I don't find him in the next 48 hours he's as good as dead.
/sighs in frustration, pulling out his phone/
I can call the NYPD if you need verification on my identity.
@hyunwoo l。ᵐᵒʳᵒˢ Hey, I have a question about those phones your company produces.
Can they be tracked? If I give you a number can you find anything for me?
