royal pain: park chaeyoung.

she loved mysteries so much, that she became one.

growing up,  chaeyoung's mother had always doted on her the most, being the closest one to her and attending to her needs more than her father. her father was like a stranger to her, someone she seldom interacted with. coming from a prestigous stallone family, her family was of envy to many,  but that was only because they knew the superficial side.

at the mere age of eleven, she learnt the cold hard truth. the truth behind her mothers'  wounds and scars was finally revealed: her father's mistreatment towards her. it was that one night, that she overheard her father's harsh words and brutal beatings that she found out about her family history, and could never perceive her father the same way ever again. upon finding out how her mother was treated, she became resentful of her father for using violence as a coping mechanism to mourn over princess annette's, the king's sister death.

defiant, she was, no one else could control her anymore unless it was her mother or sister. her father did not favour her to begin with, since he was only bothered about handing the throne to her brothers and teaching them the ropes. everything went haywire, she engaged herself in ual escapades, took up and learnt archery, martial arts, fencing, and picked up several talents such as singing and playing the guzheng.

there was no avoiding of the clutches of fate, but she could control her own destiny.  she was determined that one day, she'd make her father regret for all the actions he has done to her mother, at least. in her pursuit of doing so, she became fearless, of all but one thing: suffering the same fate as her mother. due to her fear of getting treated similarly, she had no choice but to put up a facade -- not really one since she was kind to people she loved, but to feign ignorance and act like she was not involved in any of these assassination going on.

 she wanted to be able to be marry someone, who was not like her father, or she could defend herself against the men.  it was what she could do minimally, to make a difference. or that was what her naive past self thought so.

realisation struck her when she made an attempt to assassinate her father that her mother was only manipulating her daughter as a tool, a tool to help her revenge so that her mother can do as she please, to get the throne and the autonomy, to become the empress dowager.

was she only worthy to her mother and was doted on so that her mother could manipulate her? 

she felt so unworthy, and she hated them both. even after the failed assassination, she was even more fuelled by the desire to feel worthy, to prove the two of them wrong, 

that she was capable of ruling her own destiny.

coming from the stallone family, chaeyoung really lived up the expectations of her. like her siblings, she was scheming, and would be the type to be meticulous without leaving a trace behind. free-spirited and defiant she was, no one else other than her siblings could really control her. afterall, she never really liked her father, upon knowing the way he treated her mother while learning about the scars she had, the family's history,. knowing that she was the bravest one to speak what's on her mind, her father did not favour her.

however, as things began to unfold and shed light on her mother's intentions, chaeyoung was devastated and hurt by her beloved, mother. her personality still remained the same. they said having a soft heart in this cruel world is courage, not a weakness. to conceal the fear she had to get hurt,  she hid her heart away. being hurt from both of her parents, she did not suffer the same fate as her mother, at least, so that her mother would not end up, being that manipulative. chaeyoung absolutely hated them and want nothing to do with them, not even being similar to the way they act. but one thing she knew was,

hate can't drive out hate, only love can.

and so she loved, she loved her siblings to the core since they had nothing to do with their parents, they equally hated them like chaeyoung did and was not given the choice to choose their fate.  perhaps, blood is not thickerr than water, but with her siblings, she felt like she had everything to go against the world. ( valued kinshp more than anything else, would go the extra mile to resort to do anything if you hurt anyone of them ).

likes: martial arts, music, dogs, and drinking tea.  
dislikes: men who uses violence against women, being lied to as she values honesty, rat
