@▪ hades "That's impossible. Your brother runs Olympus no? I'm sure there are plenty of ins and outs I can only dream to imagine. I haven't been living here for long and all I've seen are glimpses of places from my clients. I don't know if I'm the best person to converse with about Olympus and it's social circles." Calypso fiddled with a silver braid in hopes of easing the heat that was coursing through his body. He'd never felt so confused and ignorant yet Hades was gazing at him as though the sea foam orbs contained all the answers which was far from the reality of the situation. His knowledge of the mortal realm was even more lacking in comparison, the compliment only serving to make him feel more foolish about his outbursts even if the king's intentions weren't to shame him.
Fiddling in his seat Calypso rosy lips before shutting them again in contemplation. "I... What would you like to know? I'm not sure there's much more I can tell you than I already have. I tend to get lost in my head more than saying anything out loud... All I know of the mortal realm is what I've heard from companions and as for Olympus, I'm fairly lost aside from basic exploration. Things were so much simpler back on the island... But freedom comes at a price right? It's strange to feel like I know nothing about a world that's been around me all this time."
[] sorry it's so short and lacking! I was in a bit of a hurry and ended up losing track of my thoughts cuz I have so many RPs to catch up on OTL
@▫ calypso Perhaps, it has something to do his location in this entire world, but Hades knows pretty much nothing about everything. And he isn't sure how much he truly knows about the gods themselves. He tilts his head at the other's words, not knowing how to process Calypso's story. All that he very much know is how to pay for the bills, and order food. He is usually served when he visits the Olympus, and in the mortal realm, his manager will help him to the best of his ability. Could he blame it on the fact that he is very much always in the underworld? Perhaps, he can also blame it on the slow Internet connection they have down there.
"Ah," Hades quickly quips, shaking his head and offers the younger a small smile. He hopes the other doesn't take it wrongly. He is anything but great. However, after listening to Calypso's story, he becomes intrigued. "I think you have more knowledge of this world and the Olympus than I do. I am very much, not a good person when it comes to observation. I have a bad track record of getting lost in the mortal realm. I used to be trick by the mortals as well so, and I look up to you. Let me know more, Calypso. It's fun to listen to you."
[] Oh no! I forgot! But we could always have the hotel to branch between Olympus and the mortal realm?
@▪ hades The longer they sat, the more the foreign spices around him grew enticing for the innocent god. Scents he couldn't recall ever coming across on his island, delicate aromas both sweet and tangy against his tongue caused his belly to rumble in protest. It wasn't as though he hadn't eaten at all during his time here, though Caly's choice of meal was usually refined simply to fruits, fish, and the occasional ambrosia to satiate his appetite. Being caught up in a place where all of that didn't even come second or third on the menu made it even harder for the boy to contain his glee at tasting what was in store.
But Calypso wasn't a fool, he knew his outlook on the matter was next to infantile compared to those that took such simple treats for granted yet it didn't stop him from admitting he wanted to explore it all. "Well I had to learn that much fairly quickly no? When you're coming from a world where money has no place to an area where even Olympians explore some form of currency, it's difficult to get around otherwise. I only really know because of my job... Sometimes they take me on the outskirts of the mortal realm, sometimes to the various buildings on the cusp of Olympus. I... W-why do you want to know that?" He muttered a bit defensively, easing further back into his seat under the scrutinizing gaze suddenly feeling more self conscious than ever before about his lack of knowledge.
[] wait... The hotel is supposed to be on Olympus right? Or are we including it in the mortal realm? I'm a little confused now honestly x3 so I wasn't sure how to respond
@▫ calypso Mortal has an interesting approach when it comes to cuisine; the Olympus using the same systematic approach and most only consuming ambrosia. On the other hand, the mortals make use of the abundance of ingredients that the world has to offer. From the shoots of a plant to the root of it, almost everything can be used in cooking. They also could differentiate between the best catch of the day from the sea. They also know the best way to prepare game meat, and Hades wonders to what extent could they push on these boundaries set by the gods. But here they are, trying out humankind's food in these human's setting and table manners that they set. The gods are now like any other. Even Zeus need to adhere to these unspoken principles.
Hades takes a sip of the water poured into his glass, nodding his head when Calypso finally spoke of his options. It seems like he is having a meal with a child, so small and curious, and the other has even chosen items that are large in amount. He couldn't help but wonder whether Calypso will have some room left for his ice cream. Shaking his head, he looks at the boy in front of him. "So you do know about the currency in this realm. Nevermind paying me but tell me, what else do you know about this place, hm?"
@▪ hades Even without knowing the history behind the hotel, it was truly a marvel to behold. Calypso still struggled in knowing where to look, practically bouncing in place within his seat everything the pale emeralds found purchase on a glinting bust of silver, glittering golds brandishing images of Olympians old and powerful; some capturing their likeness fairly well and others like an over developed child's imagination. Though Caly himself had no part in the histories and traditions other gods before and after him did, he didn't resent those that were honored and praised, called upon for even the most trivial feats while the deity remained nothing more than a blip in history.
The young man can feel eyes on him, not like the usual stares of envy or intrigue he'd begun to grow accustomed to since stepping foot on Olympus but something he dare say felt like... pity. Whatever Hades thought of him, it was true enough that the man had no ill intent, a warmth that was almost kind given the god's occupation, and for a moment Caly was certain that Hades was someone he could trust amongst a world of lies and deceit. Gnawing at the plush flesh already shifting from it's natural rosy pink to a slight crimson from the abuse, silver locks covered the curious emeralds with a slight nod. "Then I... I'd like to try ummm the steak and... pasta?" His voice was meek as he pointed to the menu to show the waiter afraid of further embarrassing himself by his pitiful explanation but the man seemed to understand find enough causing the worrying god to ease into his chair with a gentle, relieved sigh followed by a shy smile as his face continued to hide behind the menu though a tinge of guilt was etched into his beautiful features. "Are you sure this isn't going to be too expensive? I don't know if I have the money to pay you back right now..."
[] It’s okay!! My mind has been elsewhere and I haven’t been doing many replies so I’m sorry too
@▫ hestia Aphrodite had a face caked with heavy makeup, all to cover up the dark circles that hung from his eyes like lanterns from a terrace restaurant. It wasn’t noticeable, of course, he was an expert at applying this mask. His face was contorted into a frown as he walked into a frown as he walked into the hotel, fingers grabbing at his wallet to grab his credit card. He wanted little fuss as he got into his room, just wanting to take a shower, remove this mask, and spread out in clean sheets.
It had been a rough night, like every night has been these days. He couldn’t really count back to the night where he had an effective sleep, a real sleep. Sure, he’s rested, but his mind was still awake and screaming in his ears as he laid in his bedroom. He was running out friend’s houses to stay at, so a hotel seemed to be the best bet. It wasn’t cheap but Aphrodite had the money to spend. He sighed, walking into the hotel and making his way to the front desk.
To his surprise, the person at the front desk was someone he recognized. Hestia. A goddess he was so fond of because of her warm aura, so inviting to just rest his head on her shoulder and fall asleep. They didn’t know each other well, Aphrodite was an Olympian but he wasn’t one of Hestia’s siblings. He smiled at her, warm and genuine, something he hadn’t put up in a while. “Ah, Hestia. It has been a while, hasn’t it?” Aphrodite scrunched up his nose in an affectionate way, stepping closer to the counter. “I’m... okay. I’m doing okay.” A skilled lie. “How are you, love?”
@▫ calypso Hades finds it pleasing to hear the light, flutter and delight in Calypso's voice when the god first talks, a small hum leaving his lips. Of course, the hotel has been used generation after generation, in terms of the mortals, the owner. The Go family has been earning the blessings and fortunes of the gods that the hotel could survive for more than five generations. It must have been a little strange, but the older generations quickly understood the presence of the Greek gods. And without a word, they worship them. Their loyalty lies to the gods, not to the King nor to the gods that they have created. The gods lining in picture frames, carved into clays are nothing but an item that is used to instil fear. Even until now, Hades is still being looked up by the mortals. And for that, he provides them with wealth.
It is a shame to see that some gods receive the privilege, and some don't — Calypso is, after all, a god as well. Yet, he hasn't been receiving the opportunity as any other gods have. Hades observes every single little movement that Calypso makes. He has his eyes on the other when the boy touches the cold surface of the elevator. And Hades could feel how the boy continues to run after him, like a child.
To be very clear, Hades doesn't find himself listening to gossips amongst the Olympians. He'd sooner go home as soon as the meeting is adjourned. But perhaps, that is also the reason why he might be the only one who is curious about Calypso's past. "Yes, go on. Order anything that you'd like to try." He offers, smiling at the boy and patiently waits as the god skims through the menu. The look he has on his face makes Hades' lips curl into a bigger smile.
[] I am so sorry— I have been busy these past few weeks!
@▪ hades With childlike innocence Calypso stared wide eyed clearly awestruck by the construction that appeared before them. It wasn't the magic that enchanted him, something so trivial was common amongst gods and goddesses alike, but the metallic contraption that appeared around them. The poor man didn't dare question what it was they had just stepped into, not when it was obvious that it was another commodity that he unfortunately never had the pleasure of experiencing. Though it didn't stop him from curiously brushing his fingers against the reflective surface, the slight lunge of the cubicle shifting beneath him causing the braided seashells to twinkle in his hair. "Oh! I think I've been here once before with a client," The silky voice was vibrant at the realization though the visit was a bit foggy in his memory. Watching the almost instant transition of floor to carpet as they crossed the threshold, Calypso struggling to keep up with Hades long strides.
In the back of his mind he can't help wondering if the taller had always been so polite, why he was being so kind to him and the other staff that appeared to occupy the building. The glance back was signal enough, the silver haired nymph quickening his pace until he was on par with the King of the Underworld trying - quite pitifully - to not let the grandiose of the elegant interior distract him from his task. The scents wafting from the kitchens, however, were another story entirely and left the boy biting back a groan at all the foreign scents that smelled so delectable to his delicate senses. "I... I can order anything? Are you sure?" Calypso wasn't used to such generosity. As naive as the god may seem, even he knew everything came with a price and judging by the amount of drachmas displayed beside each item it certainly didn't come cheap. Pale emeralds fluttered over the menu analyzing each item and its miniscule description that did nothing to help the poor man understand what it was he would be eating. "Ummm I... I'll let you choose. You know what's good here and I don't want you to waste your money frivolously. As long as it has," a brief moment of pause filled the air as Caly mentally ceased the urge to say cow. "- beef then I will be more than happy. Thank you, Hades."
[] it's no problem! I was out all weekend for my birthday anyway ^^
@▫ aphrodite Home. What a simple word but it manages to have so much meaning. Whether it’s a place, a person, or even an idea, home has always meant to be a safe haven for those who are weary to rest and just be. For Hestia, this hotel is her home. Once a humble hearth of brick & mortar in the middle of Olympus, it has transformed into this grandiose building with walls embellished with gold, art, and technologies beyond any (mortal) belief.
She has spent most of her day making her rounds, checking in with the hotel staff that all rooms are sparklingly, tip-top condition and their guests are happy. She even gotten her hands dirty and cleaned a few rooms herself, a task that most Olympians would deem below them. But then again, she isn’t most Olympians. She’s Hestia, the goddess of the hearth and the Head Housekeeper of the Hestia Hotel. Though she’s long passed on ownership of the hotel to someone else (lofty titles like that never suited her), it’s still her duty to ensure that this place, her namesake, remains a home for her fellow deities, both as guests and staff.
Now she’s at the front desk of the lobby, filling in for the poor lesser god who’s taking a much needed break. Though she’s one of the oldest among Olympians, she happens to appear to be one of the youngest. She imagines it must be a strange sight for guests to see a girl barely in her twenties greeting them with a formal bow and knowing eyes far older than her looks betray. “Hello and welcome to the Hestia Hotel!” Her warm smile shifts to an excited grin as she recognizes the new guest of honor. “Aphrodite,
how lovely to see you! It’s been far too long. How are you, my dear?”
@▫ calypso Travelling is not an issue, especially not for Hades who holds the keys to the portals that connect each realm. With a flick of his wrist and a snap of his fingers, the portal opens. It transforms the ground that they are stepping on into the cubicle of an elevator. The previously wet ground is now replaced with expensive carpet. And a soft tune fills the air — at that point, Hades turns to Calypso with a small smile. "Welcome to Hestia Hotel." He whispers, turning his head to the doors, waiting for it to arrive at their floor. When the doors are opened, he turns to the younger god, signalling the other to follow him from behind. Hestia Hotel is not like any other, not when a quarter of the staff know of the Gods and Goddesses.
Generations and generations, Hestia hotel has been used a lot by the Gods. They reside there whenever they travel to the mortal realm, and whenever there is a meeting, they make sure to meet there, occupying all the VIP rooms and suites. Sure, it may cause a problem as Zeus likes to schedule meetings without giving a heads up, and instead, the hotel has to cancel all bookings. But, Hades also knows that as long as the owner works well with the Gods, they will continue to prosper.
A warm smile and a bow — Hades walks through the lines of people, thanking them softly before he is guided to the restaurant. He makes sure to turn and check on Calypso, giving the other a small reassuring smile before ushering the other to come a little bit closer. He is sure that the other is still awry being in a new place, but he wants to offer warmth to the boy. Hades isn't fully aware of Calypso's background, but he knows that the other got deserted on an island. So, this may be too much for Calypso to comprehend, but it doesn't mean that he wouldn't catch up. The other seems like a smart person, and Hades will help out as much as he could.
They are directed straight into the VIP section in the restaurant, and he lets Calypso settle down first before he joins the other at the same table. Allowing the server to set their table quickly and offering the menus to both Gods, Hades looks at the other. "Please, go on and order whatever that you want, okay? If you need any clarification, you can ask me or the server, hm?"
[] I am so sorry. I usually do replies as soon as I could but I've been swamped with school work, and other things.
@▪ persephone Hades stands tall in the elevator, hands stuffed in the pockets of his pants. He hasn't expected for the same lady to make her way to the elevator, albeit slower than he has anticipated. He quietly reaches for a button, tapping the door-open button, waiting for the girl to safely entered the cubicle. Politely, he offers the female a smile at her words before he straightens his back once more, eyes focused on the cubicle. The door slides to a close, and Hades stays quiet as they ride up the levels. Hades isn't one for light chatter, that is something that is easily understood by the people that has worked him. But, that doesn't mean he would ignore anyone who tries to talk to him. When the female speaks again, he turns his focus to her. "Chanyeol, Park Chanyeol. And don't worry, it's a pleasure to offer a helping hand."
"Cumbersome... is this your first time working for an office?" He asks only to pause before he clears his throat. "I'm sorry to be asking such a question. It seems like the heels and documents are a bit too odd to be in the same frame as you. First job?"
@▪ hades So distracted in her own little world, she barely hears the footfalls of the approaching male. Had she looked up perhaps she would have seen it. The only sign she got from his lingering presence was a wisp of cold air that climbed up her arms. Her skin, naturally warm to the touch, prickled with the new sensation and out of her peripheral a hand came into view. She stopped for a moment only to let her gold gaze trail up the hand, against the long expanse of a forearm and right up to the owner's face. Familiar. That chiseled bone structure... she's seen it before. Somewhere. But for now she was too busy trying to hurriedly put the papers back in order. So much so that she didn't realize that the male had done some of the work before the stack was handed to her. Dumbfounded, she stared at the papers, dropping open just slightly before a smile breaks out on her lips. "Thank you," she smiled, taking the papers graciously and tucking them back into their respective folders. Before she could get another word out the male was up and gone, long strides taking him towards the elevators.
Persephone stood, smoothed out her black pencil skirt with her free hand before she realizes that she too needs to take the elevator. Heels were new to her -- she had spent most of her life barefoot and running through fields, so standing tall on a couple more inches was a new experience. Just this morning she almost twisted her ankle when she stood. Someone had told her she would carry a lot more feminine charm if she just wore heels. "After all, you have long legs." That was the line used on her and before she knew it she was whisked off to find the perfect pair of heels. And she was currently regretting it. She was taking small steps, embarrassingly so, and it takes her quite a while to traverse the long hallway and slide her hand in between the closing elevator doors.
"Thank goodness," she sighs loudly, watching as the doors part and she shuffles in awkwardly. Her eyes land on the array of buttons and notices the 16th floor button lit up. "Oh... I'm going there as well." Her lips pull up into a soft smile, the brightness of her visage beamed at the taller male. The elevator is spacious, yet in the confined space she felt... cramped. Claustrophobia ran rampant with her and with the four walls encroaching on her much needed personal space she tried to keep herself calm. They reminded her of the invisible cage she was put in as a child and she would be damned before she allowed anyone else to put her in such a predicament once more. Silence befell the pregnant space between the two, awkward and consuming, and she decided the elevator would take some time to get to their destination. "I'm Kore. Thanks for helping me out... these are a lot more cumbersome than one would think."
@▪ morpheus Now, Thanatos felt the other male is like an onion and he always found a new side of him everytime they met with each other. Back in his dream, he's a needy guy but when they met earlier, he blushed and shy all of the sudden and now, he showed him how confident he is by replying on his question without a second thought but chocked on his own saliva when he asked about how many times he slept with other gods or mortals. 2 or 3 times, no wonder he was so needy last night when none of them able to satisfied his deep desire through their dreams.
"Maybe you're not lucky enough with them and that explained your condition last night." Crossing his arms with a smirk on his face. "Then, I will change the question. Have you ever done that for real?" Leaning closer and lowered down his voice as he knew no one should heard about this.
@▪ thanatos Morpheus rolled his eyes at Thanatos’s words before letting out a soft chuckle. “I can be both , Nat.” He said with another chuckle before staring up at Thanatos. Morpheus wasn’t usually all shy , in fact he was a confident person in general but still , he felt kind of shy after what happened last night in their dreams. But seeing how Thanatos was pretty calm about it so Morpheus thought he should not act so surprised or anything like so. He nodded his head at the male’s words before following the male to their table.
It was a really pretty garden with all those beautiful flowers decorating the place and it made him felt much more calm now , taking a seat as he looked at Thanatos ordering their meal before he just looked at the place with gleaming eyes since he really enjoy the pretty view. When he heard Nat’s question , he almost choked on his saliva and his cheeks became the blushing red again. “H-huh?” He was confused at first but once he understood the question , he cleared his throat slightly. “About..two or three times? But that was like years ago and it wasn’t even the full one like..with yours..” He explained with his usual soft , gentle voice before he scratched his head a little.
@▪ morpheus Since when Morpheus became this feminime? Maybe because of what they did last night in his dream? That's definitely a big question to him, looking at how he huffed his cheeks and asked whether he remembered about the dream he made for them last night, which Thanatos assumed he already knew the answer. "Which one is the real you Morph?" He casually asked, didn't know whether the real Morpheus is the shy one here or the needy guy he slept with in his dream last night. "I have reserved a place for us." He motioned him to followed behind as he made his way to the table he has reserved in advance.
From inside the restaurant, they could see a rose and lavender garden outside with a pond in the center, a beautiful rare sight to see. "We'll have set 2." He ordered when the waiter approached them. Once the waiter excused and leaving both of them alone, he stared far into the garden, thinking of some question he should asked Morpheus. "How many times have you entered someone's dream and slept with them?" Blunt is Thanatos's middle name and he didn't bother to sugar coating it and even some eyes were staring at them, simply told the whole world they did last night.
@▪ thanatos Morpheus jumped a little when he heard the familiar voice and turned to look at Thanatos with his red , blushing cheeks. “Nat you scared me!” He said whiningly before turning to land a light playful smack on his friend’s shoulder but every single movement he made always made him feel much sore than before so he huffed his cheeks at the male. The flashbacks of the dream came across his mind before he was already burning red in embarrassment.
“Y-you still remember last night?” He asked , stuttering in process even though he knew that was a dumb question since he had made the dream to leave a deep impression on both of them now. He was totally different from last night , now all awkward and shy with the male since he can’t believe that he was ‘that’ needy last night which resulted all those marks and soreness at his own body.
@▪ morpheus "Hands up and bring of anything you make right here." Thanatos commanded as the time is up and one by one brought their creation to the table in front of him. Thankfully as creations were visually appealing but what's important is the taste itself. Starting from the first dishes, he commented, critique even gave them advice how to improve their food one by one. Fortunately, no one bawling or crying with his harsh critics but accepted and some even took note. Totally different from when he trained his own chefs, that's why not a lot of chefs stay with him for a long time. "Now, since it's lunch time, we'll take a break and I want all of you to create a 5 main course after the break. Decide whatever you want and I'll see you after the break." All of them bowed to him as he made his way out from the kitchen accompanied by the restaurant manager, asking if they're going to have an additional star prior to hotel review examination but his eyes caught Morpheus inside the restaurant like a lost child.
"Let's talk again later on sir." Thanatos slightly bowed before made his way to Morpheus. "Looking for me?" He questioned him from his back with his hands in his pocket and flashed a smile, more likely a smirk when he remembered about last night's dream.
@▪ thanatos Morpheus just finished taking his shower when he received the text from Thanatos which made him whine a little since he didn’t really want to go quite far there , not in his sore state but since his friend had invited so he just put on his usual sweater along with a pair of jeans , enough to cover up the marks and past bruises before heading out of his home to the destination. It seemed like Thanatos didn’t have the side effects which was good otherwise it would be really dreadful for the male to start his day feeling tired or anything like so.
He was yawning , a few times ever since he started his way to the hotel and he would rub his eyes occasionally as well. Most passerby probably think that he was a sleepy young boy who spent the night playing late night games but the way he walk-limped was really enough to explain everything except that happened in dreams not in real life. Without him realising , he reached the said hotel with numerous times of yawning and rubbing his eyes again and again because he wanted to wash the sleepiness away. He stepped into the expensive , high classed hotel and immediately headed to the restaurant side which was located at the side of the building , believing that Thanatos was there so he looked around before texting the male again ;
@▪ morpheus After freshened up himself and changed into black shirt and red shorts, Thanatos recieved a text message from no other than the male who had fun with him in his dream, Morpheus texted that he's sore from their last night activity, which kind of surpraise him since he didn't know it would take an effect on him in real life whereas he felt nothing changed, only feeling happy, energized and satisfied when he woke up.
-Come to Hestia hotel. I have to train some chef there-
Texted back to the other male before slipped on his phone in his clutch and put on his sunglasses before taking his key and drove off to Olympus. There are some days he visited the olympus and mortal realms to checked on his restaurant but today, the Hestia hotel manager called for his help to trained their chefs since they're aiming for additional stars given by the experts. Other than that, Thanatos might brought along a lot of souls since a lot of accident happened in a hotel. Parking his car perfectly, the god of death walked out and entered the hotel right away with the manager greeted him and escorting him to the kitchen where he trained their chefs. "Pasta, soup, drink, dessert, appetizer and side dishes." Pointing to all chef one by one earning a confuse look from their faces. "What are you doing? That's your task. Now." Those chefs hurried on their feet and do as he told them to. Eyes never left each of them while they're working on their task, glancing over the clock once in a while to checked on their time. A side of Thanatos that no one had ever seen since he always worked alone unless it's underworld matter which he worked along with Hades.
@▪ persephone Per usual, Hades is held down by another meeting, one after another. Before this, he was in a meeting with Poseidon. This time around, at this hotel, there is another meeting with two of his brothers. The soles of his shoes clack against the marble floorings, tucking his hand into his pocket. Thanatos couldn't attend this meeting as his partner, but that shouldn't be a problem for him. Death has been working extremely hard, especially when there has been another disease outbreak in rural areas. The least he can do is attend this meeting on behalf of them both. Reaching the elevator, he presses the upper arrow button, glancing above his head at the pointer. Psyche, his secretary, has been bombarding him with questions — where have you been, sir? You do understand that you can't be late for this meeting right, sir? Sir, have you read the notice of the meeting?
From that point on, he knows that he should attend the meeting alone.
His gaze wanders somewhere else when Hades hears the scattering of papers. Taking a second glance, he notices a girl, appropriately in a business attire down on her knees, picking up each paper. Hades tilts his head to one side, brows furrowing. There is no one else in the hallway, and when Hades takes a step towards the female, the bell chimes, and the automatic doors slide open.
Quietly, he descends on his knee as well, grabbing the copies and adequately putting them all back together. "Here, please be careful." He whispers, passing the stack of papers in his hands to the female before jumping back to his feet. His stride is big, quickly pressing the button again and again. The door opens for him once more, and Hades enters. He presses the 16th level button and waits for the door to close once more.
"Keep these folders on you at all times. We need them. Lose one and I will end your career."
"Do you not know how to make a proper cup of coffee? Some intern."
The day had started out rough, at it was, but she held herself dignified. She had seen the perils that the mortals go through and majority of them always carried themselves with refined dignity... so why couldn't she? She pulled her long golden locks up into a ponytail, effectively keeping it out of her face and out of people's line of view. With folders tucked securely under her arm, she counted -- then RECOUNTED -- to make sure they were all accounted for. Sure enough, they were. Coffee. She knew the coffee she brewed was substantial given the fact that all she had to work with was a machine that used the tiny little cup.. thingies. Why was technology so confusing here? In the mortal realm coffee took a while to brew, but the process was so much more relaxing to watch and, dare she say, much more tasty. Did the Gods here not have access to a decent cup of coffee? Should she invest in a press in order to make a decent cup of coffee?
Her mind raced as she walked through the halls of the hotel. Ornate walls laden with art and architecture that she only saw in the temples in the Mortal Realm. As breathtaking as it all was, she was utterly distracted as she trekked through the halls. Too distracted to even notice the folder slipping from beneath her arm. One more step and out fell the papers, fluttering in the air and landing with a deafening silence on the carpeted ground. A soft sigh of reprieve came from the woman as she looked at the papers scattered about her for a few seconds. She was stunned for what seemed like an eternity before she took a deep breath and knelt to pick up the papers.
One by one, her slim digits traced the pages of each paper and picked them up while simultaneously putting them in order. She muttered under her breath the entire time, reading off each number to herself; a mad woman trying to discern life.
